Umeda was shocked... but he couldn't help laughing softly. "You're a masochist, you know that?" he asked before sighing and looking out the window. "Well... I would have done that if I wasn't injured... or actually worried about you. But I was. Next time, I'll give you a good thrashing when I nearly get killed, how's that sound?" his abyssal gaze focused on Izanagi before speaking again. "I don't mind getting hurt... because I have a purpose again, baka..."

"But it will let me feel better if you scold me..." He said, pouting and look away from the man.
A good trashing when the kodama nearly get killed sounds great to him.
At least that can prove the kodama still have enough energy left and won't be dieing so soon.
"I know, I know...you said that earlier..." Izanagi pouted again and crosses his arms.
Later, the driver came in to the car and hand over the pack of cigarette which is the most expensive one he can get in the shop to Umeda along with some coins.
Then they off to the train station.

Oh sweet nectar...
Umeda opened the pack quickly, pulling out one cigarette then digging a lighter from his pocket.
He hadn't smoked since the incident really... and he had been craving it almost every moment.
"Fine... I'll scold you from now on all the time. Happy?" he asked with a slight smirk, tipping the ashes of his cigarette into a backseat ashtray.

When the kodama said that, Izanagi does feel a bit happier.
He sighed and smile while looking out the window.
But that happy feeling don't last long.
Closing one eye, Izanagi can clearly read the message the Kamaitachi is writing to him.
The Kamaitachi wrote about the trade offer from Izanami.
It is said that the deity will lend him a hand to find Sayori and the banshee for him but she want Izanagi's soul in return.
That message made him worried. First, there was Oiwa who he know she has been watching him somewhere.
And then Oume's angry soul appeared in his dream, trying to kill him
Now, he was told that Izanami no Mikoto wants his soul too...
The boy kept a straight face. He don't want Umeda to worry about this matter.
There is no point to tell the kodama about this, isn't it?
This rival is much stronger than Oiwa or Oume which Umeda alone can't handle.
Besides, he don't want to see the kodama to get hurt again even though he's been told that doesn't matter.
He closes the other eye and lean his head backwards.
Right now, he need to figure out another way to get Sayori and her servant out of Yomi before Izanami finds them.
Minutes later, they have reach the train station...
Izanagi open the door and didn't forget to take his luggage from the trunk.

"So, what are you not telling me?" Umeda asked as he got out of the taxi, paying and tipping the driver before helping Izanagi with the luggage.
As they neared the station entrance, he tossed away his cigarette, stamping it out with his boot. "I mean honestly... you keep going off in your own little world lately. If you're trying not to worry me, it's not working, you know."
The kodama paid for their tickets before pushing Izanagi ahead of him and onto the train.

He thought he hide it well. But it seems Umeda exposed his cover...
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Izanagi sighed then turn his face away from the kodama and walk into the station first by himself.
He heard the kodama and he is going to tell him.
But of course, not right here...Not in the public.
The boy kept quiet and waited while Umeda was buying the tickets.
After that, they went aboard to the train and find their seat.
He look around making sure no other people is around them...
Izanagi sat down, crossing his legs.
Then, he spoke. "I have to find Sayori before Izanami, the deity of Yomi does...If she found them before I did, I'm afraid I won't be able to see the sun again."

Abyssal eyes narrowed as Umeda crossed one leg over the other at the knee. "You're right here. Not in Yomi. Why would Sayori's fate tie to your own at this point?"
He needed the boy to elaborate... to tell him exactly what was going on before he could fully try to help.
After all, the kodama had a different sort of knowledge about the spirit world...

Massaging his nose bridge, he closed his eyes and let out a loud sigh.
"Remember when I told you that Sayori might be hiding in the underworld? I asked Uncle Yon to do something about it and he sent Kamaitachi and Taichi to investigate Yomi. But their undercover was blown up by Izanami no Mikoto..." He said putting a hand to his left eye.
"On the day you went to the Tamiya mansion alone, something happened. I lost my left eye that day and I nearly die...Kamaitachi saved me and gave me one of his eye. Since then, I can see what he is seeing..."
The boy stare at the kodama for a while before continuing. "It seems that Izanami was interested in me because of my name. She offered a trade of Sayori's arrest order with my soul. Back there when we were in the taxi, Kamaitachi wrote me a message about it. That is why...I have to find Sayori before Izanami does. I am not doing this for Sayori...but, I can't die yet, Umeda-san. Not now. Not to Izanami..."

"Chotto..." Umeda spoke, holding up a hand to stop the kid. "You're telling me that unless you sell your soul to Izanami, you're going to be stuck in Yomi somehow?"
Sure, he didn't understand the details... but then again, they were dealing things outside of the kodama's normal spiritual realm.
He hadn't been to Yomi... and no intention of ever setting foot there.
"Somehow Sayori has your eye, ne? And we need to get it back... why not just offer to give Sayori to Izanami once you have the eye back? I mean, she'd be gaining a powerful minion and you'd have one less pain in the a** to deal with. Unless, of course, she's already working for Izanami behind your back..."
Yes... Umeda held NO love for Sayori.

"You can say that..." He answered the first question.
But offering Sayori to Izanami was out of his thoughts.
What Umeda said makes the boy even worry than before.
Sighing, Izanagi placed a palm on his face.
"I miss those peaceful days."

Shaking his head, the kodama sighed. "Really, you should just let Sayori get what she deserves." he spoke evenly, obviously not caring what happened to the woman. "You don't owe her anything, Izanagi."



(((So the eye thing made me think of xxxholic... cause I watched that episode the other day where Watanuki's eye was lost to the spider-demon-thing.)))

The boy closed his eyes. He doesn't want to think of anything right now.
"No...I owe her one." He opened up his eyes. "I promised her that I will make her my beautiful bride when we grow up. But in the end, I fell for another person...She was jealous, And jealousy creates hatred. It was, my fault."

"You fell for someone else?" Umeda asked curiously, his black gaze falling on the kid. "Is this person someone with whom you can carry on your family name with?"
It was a simple question.
A very realistic question.
"The line shouldn't end with you, Izanagi. That would be... cruel... far too cruel..."
