...
My father had a minor stroke WEEKS ago. My mum just told me tonight.
It makes sense, really; he used to be relatively graceful, now he's as clumsy as I am, and it's become normal for him to forget what he was saying or lose words mid-sentence. But I didn't connect it with a stroke until my mum told me.
He refuses to go to the doctor, even though he admits he had a stroke. He's also a heavy smoker with high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney failure. But he refuses to see a doctor.
Someone come knock sense into him, please?

TeaDidikai CuAnnan Accepting punishment means accepting responsibility for the action. Since when Love? It is not as though individuals are not wrongly imprisoned. They have not accepted the punishment, merely had no choice but to be punished BlueRoseTorn I'll spare you my terrible conversation skills (if they can be called that). I'm a bumbling fool the first time I speak to someone. It took two or three visits with Tea and company for me to completely let down my guard and speak freely without fear of looking like a moron. ninja We're never going to get over that stumbling block if you won't take the first step. I talk like a moron most of the time. I have difficulty articulating what I mean and I suffer rather badly from social anxiety. I'm willing to give it a go if you are *grin*

TeaDidikai ~shudder~ Someone broke into my car. They didn't take anything. Nothing. Not the money that was even in semi-plain view. They left something though. They left a Catholic Communion wafer. The window wasn't shattered, was it? That's just...beyond creepy. sweatdrop Edit: HELLOOOOO, SAETRIL. wink heart

I say things in my head like five times before I blurt them out, and I still get it wrong. ninja If I get on AIM while you're on (and if my keyboard decides to function...I got drunk and spilled my kahlua and chocolate milk on it, so now most of the keys stick when I type sad ), I'll send you an IM.

Fiddler- you'll be meeting Saetril at ReReCon.
I'm beginning to think we're all horribly socially awkward in our social awkwardness.

Well, so long as i have something to eat, I can generally overcome my anxiety... like many animals, I will leave the safety of teh den to get food. domokun

Weighing on the social awkwardness (though I have yet, sadly, to see any of you in person-- er... come to New Mexico! Land of friggin' enchantment!), it's all about perceived social safety for me. I can either come off as having extreme social anxiety or fairly effusive. It's all about whether I think I can comfortably get away with being me.
Also agreeing with Fiddler on the food part. Mmm.

For me, nothing says comfortable like plenty of food. All of my must protect my food, will starve instincts fade when everyone has plenty. And there is somethign primally comforting about social eating to me. 3nodding
Shredded Seraph, I know some people down that way, maybe next year. 3nodding
Methinks everyone here knows what I look like anyway. 3nodding

So, what do people think of a gift exchange. Like actual, physical packages?
