Meanwhile in the recording studio, Izzy, Shou and the band were full on into their session. Each piece was being meticulously recorded and everyone was on the ball. Neither Izzy nor Shou had any idea of what was going on in the other hallway and it was probably a good thing because if they had, they might have not performed nearly as well.
During a short break, Izzy leaned up against a wall and sucked down a bottle of water watching the rest of the band kid around in the room as the engineers went over the last drum session. "You know this is the first time I've ever wanted to go use the gym. I feel so hyped right now."
Shou laughed and popped open his water, "Isn't the feeling great! You're going to have to do that now a lot more than you want if you're going to be a star. Probably should get a nutritionist too." Shou pointed out as he took a sip from the bottle.
"Well, I've got a ways to go but after losing all that weight from circumstances and getting a bit fitter, I kind of want to do a bit more." mentioned Izzy as he set down the empty bottle.
"It's a high you keep running with as you get further along in your career. I bet you'll find a whole new interest in some sports too. Just to keep yourself in tune with your body. Makes for good publicity as well." Shou grinned as walked over and leaned against the wall too.
"Yeah...I guess so. Mm...Narcissus-san should be coming along shortly to do his part, I'd think. Hopefully everything is ok in the other..." That was when Shou cut Izzy off. "Don't think about those things. They aren't important right now. Stick to the music...stay in the zone. Come on break is over. You're thinking too much again."
Dragging Izzy back to the mic, Shou then picked up his guitar and plucked a few notes from one of his own songs. "If you don't get to work I'll take you to Wonderland." he smirked with a mischievous grin. It was just like Shou...And sometimes Izzy wondered what it might have been like had he chose him instead of Akihiko. Oh he knew the offer was unsaid, Shou never asked but he guessed there was interest. However, Izzy chose the man he had always dreamed of having at his side...He hoped he made the right choice this time around.

Of course, sir. You have my word that he will be on a flight out tonight. Shou looks good all things considered. He is a bit thinner, but still in terrific shape. Compared to Narcissus right now, Shou looks like a Greek god shining in all his glory. I'll send you what I find tonight on the way back to Japan. Have a good night, sir.
Pocketing the phone, Ishihara had finally made it back to the recording area just as the break was ending. He popped his head in, seeing Shou plucking a few guitar strings.
"Shou-san, may I have a quick moment?" he asked, not wanting to basically order the man on a plan in front of the rest of the room.
There was such a thing as a man's pride, after all
"I'll be damned if I ruin the holidays for you, Michi." Akihiko argued vehemently. "I know what I need to be eating nutrition-wise and it's only a matter of time before I start eating more. I can work out in the gym of my home easily enough and I'll even have my personal trainer come over the holidays. But you are NOT going to spend every day running back and forth from your mother's to my place. I won't allow it. Hell, I'll lock you out of the gate if I have to."
Yuuji laughed, "Sometimes I wonder who you care more about, cousin. Your lover, or Tanaka-san."
Blue eyes flashed dangerously but then Akihiko simply ignored the man. "March... I can be ready by March at the latest. In the mean time I'll be able to help you and Ruki with your own music. As soon as the holidays are over it's back to work for all of us, but during the break YOU, Michi-kun, are to be resting and relaxing and getting away from all this insanity. I'll go over your head on this one if I have to."
Apparently, Narcissus was quite adamant about the entire situation. "This isn't your fault, Michi. Stop thinking it is. My injuries have NEVER been your fault. They're mine and mine alone. I've brought this s**t down on my own head." he smiled softly. "Besides, they're just bruises. They'll eventually heal up. But YOU... need to get away from the insanity. If only for a while."

Shou glanced up from his guitar because they had just about started their next round when Ishihara poked his head in. "Mm...Hold on a moment Lucky-san. Seems I need another minute."
He gotta up and gently put the guitar on a stand and walked over to Ishihara "What's up? We're about to begin with the next recording phase for this song." Shou seemed to be back in work mode and stepped out of the room but the door had not been swung shut. Probably the wrong timing to try to get the star to listen but Ishihara was welcome to try.

"But Akihiko, you're not ruining my holiday if I'm helping you feel better..." argued back but got cut off as Akihiko started explaining what he needed to do. "I really don't mind running back and forth if you need my help..."
Although Yuuji's comment made Michi bite his lip. He didn't know what to say about it. And...well he had a feeling that Yuuji knew a wee bit more about their non-work related rendezvous than he wanted him to know.
"But Akihiko that is just a guess. So don't start holding firm to that month till we get you home and recovering. Sure...I don't mind if you want to help me. But...But...Oh...geesh Ok.OK. I give up. I don't think we need you going to Hiroki-san." And maybe he just didn't want to risk Akihiko giving Hiroki another broken nose. Sometimes it was very...difficult to judge how Akihiko was going to approach a problem.
Dr. Williams stayed quiet as the men spoke in Japanese but she did prepare a cream from a few jars then walked over and lifted the ice packs to smear on a layer of the cream. It started numbing the areas where the bruises covered. "There, that should help some." she said before putting a plastic over the area and then laying the ice packs back down on top. She then walked to a closet and pulled out another cot. "You should be lying down." she said to Yuuji as she set up the cot right beside Akihiko's bed. "Now get on there and relax your head for a bit with the ice pack."
Michi tried not to laugh because the idea of Frick and Frack lying that close was almost too much to bear. If they hadn't been adults Michi might have thought they were children...but...then again....did children play that rough?

"Glad you finally see it my way." Akihiko replied with a bit of a smirk.
He lay his head back down on his arms, wincing when Williams began to smear some odd numbing cream over the bruises. After a few minutes there wasn't any more pain, which was nice for a change.
Reach off to his side, Narcissus grabbed Michi's wrist and pulled the man around to stand in front of him. "Look. I won't push myself too hard. I'll eat right and if I start getting sore... then I'll come to you. But YOU, Michi-kun, are not going to worry all holiday over my back. Hell, I won't even let Ruki worry about it if I can help it."
Meanwhile, Yuuji was doing just as Williams ordered and was now laying on the cot, ice pack over his head. "Two-timer." he teased... to which Akihiko flipped him off but otherwise ignored him.
He knew when Takagi was just joking and, oddly enough, right now he was. The man wasn't trying to get a rise out of his cousin anymore... that would be suicidal for both men.
With Michi's hands in his own, Akihiko smiled. "Trust me. I'll even call in a nutritionist to fix some of the meals, just to make sure I'm getting back into shape properly. I'm thinking swimming instead of weights or anything that involves heavy lifting as a way to tone up first. I can use the indoor pool at Ohayou's gym."
Ishihara moved around Shou to close the door and... effectively block Shou's path to get back INTO the room.
"You have an appointment in the next few hours but I've an errand to run. I'll be back in time to drive you there, then we'll head to Ishi-san's estate and pick up whatever you want to bring home. There's a flight tonight and Matsumoto-san made is clear that he needs you on that flight, Shou-san. If I have to, I'll bring Yamada-san in on this to get you onto the plane." You sighed slightly, looking as if he sympathized with the musician. "I really do with you had more time to enjoy Los Angeles... but Matsumoto-san is getting rather anxious having you abroad still. Won't you please consider returning with me? There will be time to see Lucky-san and Narcissus-san back in Japan, I assure you."

Shou was rather confused for a moment as Ishihara closed the door. The star stood there blinking for a moment as Ishihara spoke. So Matsumoto wanted him back that urgently. Paranoid...that much Shou was sure of. Shou sighed not really wanting to get into it with Ishihara but Matsumoto was again trying to exert himself and it got on Shou's nerves,"It's the Christmas season for goodness sake. As if I'm going to get anything done for Smash when I return home this time of the year. I won't be asking the studio to stay at work while their families are at home celebrating."
His arms crossed and then released, he started to pace just a little, "I've really nothing against you Ishihara-san but I move at my own pace. I happen to find LA rather...refreshing...And MeKA very...innovative. It's rather inspiring to feel this breath of fresh air. And the company for the most part is...comforting. Lucky-san is adorable but strong on the inside when needed. And it is rather difficult walking away from him, after all we've been through." His voice softened some thinking about the manager...mm...vocalist.
"Ah...I apologize, I've had my fair share of discomfort after returning from the sea. And not slept well. Christmas always inspires me with new music but...this year I don't feel.....mmm... Do you share your Holidays with anyone Ishihara-san?" he asked out of the blue.

Michi was dragged around to the front and knelt down so he could be closer to Akihiko's face. "Promise? If I hear you worked yourself too hard or I find your body in worse shape than before you're going to be in deep trouble."
Then he shook his head and chuckled, "You're going to make me worry anyway. Leaving you alone to your own devices means nothing but trouble." Of course, Yuuji's next statement caused Michi to bite his lip yet again.
"He's not two timing. That requires something happening and there's Nothing happening. You know I'd like you to remember I'm in the room too when you say stuff like that Takagi-san." Yes, it bothered Michi quite a bit because he wasn't trying to mess things up for Akihiko and Izzy. Maybe being away for Christmas was just the thing they both needed. They could just be friends when he got back. Heck, weren't they 'just' friends anyway? There wasn't any anything else here...was there? He looked down and the hands that held his and they felt...warm..but they weren't in love! Right?
"I thought you had a chef at home or was that the same guy? Akihiko, you better have a chef around or Ishi-san might get ideas that he should try and cook again for you. The pool is a great idea to help you rebuild sleek muscles. You might have a swimming coach help you with form just to make sure you don't hurt yourself. " This immediately took Michi's mind off the previous line of thinking. He'd make Akihiko a therapy plan before they got home and that way he could have peace of mind while he was vacationing with family.

"I share my holidays on occasion." Ishihara replied with a slight smile. "And I do understand your need for inspiration, Shou-san... but Matsumoto-san's word is law where I'm concerned. He signs my paycheck. You would hardly be walking away from Lucky-san. No doubt he will return to Japan soon as well, so there's nothing to fear there. Even if there is little to do at work... your band mates would like to see you alive and well, not simply broadcast on television or the internet half a world away. I know Naoko-san in particular is wanting you to return home as soon as possible."
If You couldn't get Shou to agree to come back on his own... force would indeed need to be used.
And while force was usually what You preferred... it wouldn't sit too well with Haru if he hurt the star in any way.
And in all honesty... Ishihara would rather have a nice Christmas... not one fraught with anger.
"Well no my chef isn't a nutritionist, he just cooks when I call. He's not there all the time." Akihiko replied honestly. "I enjoy cooking... so if I can get a nutritionist to give me some recipes, then I should be good over the holidays. After that, then I'll call my chef back in."
Truth was... he wanted to cook for Izzy.
The man smiled softly. "And yes I'll make sure I have a swim coach just in case." the young Koyasu couldn't help but laugh. "You're far too worried about me, Michi-kun. I can take care of myself... sometimes..."
"You'd think you would be used to it by now." Takagi said before glancing at Michi. "Oh, I know you're in the room. I know there's nothing happening... currently. Doesn't mean there wasn't and doesn't meant there won't be. I'm just making sure you two keep that in mind." he said with a smile.
Narcissus rolled his eyes. "As if I didn't have enough to worry about..."

Shou smiled a little feeling suddenly just a bit off but he tried to keep himself from letting it show. "That's good...It's always nice to have someone around to share the joys of Christmas and New Years." But his smiled faded when Matsumoto was brought up again.
"Of course, he does sign your paycheck...." he answered dropping the topic because he really didn't want to get into it further. He'd go when he wanted...not on Matsumoto's whim. But obviously there was no convincing Ishihara-san of this.
His lips turned into a smile once more as soon as Lucky was mentioned again. "Yes, I'm sure he will too. Even though, I'm not sure why he'd sign...ah.. nevermind." He switched gears immediately to the band, "Naoko-kun is such a sweet young man isn't he...So sensitive and mm...so well...mmm...I suppose he is waiting for me to come home." Inside Shou's head, it was as if suddenly his mind was conflicted between what Shou thought was probably happening with Jun and Naoko and his desire to avoid that....to Sai's desire/need to see his brother. For a moment, Shou had a slight dizzy spell as the two personalities struggled for dominance. Leaving Shou leaning against the wall.
"Gomen...gomen...I think I do need to make sure I get some sleep tonight." Shou finally said trying to cover up his own confusion. "I should get back in the studio before they wonder where I am..." Shou remained dominate...He was in the Studio, he had a job to perform. Why in the heck was he thinking about Naoko so much? It wasn't as if the other musician didn't have his own life.
Shou then turned and walked to the door planing on returning to his guitar.

"Well as long as Ishi-san is NOT cooking while your recovering that is ok. I don't want you calling me in desperation and we end up at the hospital getting your stomach pumped. Or me hearing about your house up in flames because he...over cooked something in the oven." Michi said with a certain smile. He was teasing but everyone seemed to be learning how bad Izzy's kitchen skills were. Michi knew about it from his mom so he had more personal knowledge. He couldn't imagine being unable to at least make some food....like Instant ramen or eggs. But Izzy, well he was better off with a microwave and one button to push for the number of minutes that a frozen dinner would be cooked. Ok..so Michi knew the man could push the lever down on a toaster and make safe toast..but still!
"Yes I do worry. What have I done since I've been hired? Take care of you. I was suppose to take care of others at Ohayou but...you've been a non-stop job." he scolded and thawped Akihiko on the nose once with a finger tip.
Michi glanced over a Yuuji and then said, "Nothing happening. Akihiko's got a Boyfriend...it's a closed relationship so nothing is happening. Not now...not later." His tenor voice was firmer with his own attempt to have some resolve and consideration. As badly as he wanted Akihiko at times, it was going to be hard to do but he wasn't a home wrecker. He didn't want to ruin the first chance Akihiko had at finding some stability...quiet....happiness with someone he really did love. Akihiko didn't love Michi like that. No...they were just...'buddies'. Michi tried to commit that idea to his head so he wouldn't do anything stupid. There already was way too much drama in Akihiko's life. Michi was NOT going to be additional drama.

Reaching out, Ishihara grabbed Shou by the shoulder and turned him around. "Baka! Aside from the fact that Matsumoto-san will have my head on a silver platter if you don't get on a damn plane tonight, think of your own health for once, Shou-san!"
Pushing a hint of fear into his voice and eyes, forcing just a tad of pleading into the tone he set... and adding a drop of pure worry... You continued.
"You're in no condition to be running around LA even if I follow you, let alone on your own! You should be in bed recovering, not sitting here working on a single for someone who isn't even with our record label! Yes, you and Lucky-san have been through much and I understand fully that you don't want to destroy the bond you two have forged over your two week ordeal... but he'll return to Japan, Shou-san. Why can't you return as well? There will be plenty of time for the two of you to catch up... but you need to focus on your health and your own stability! Yamada-san is worried about you. NAKO-san is worried about you. Ryuukaze-san is worried about you. I myself am worried about you when I start seeing you nearly faint in front of my eyes!"
Gently, Ishihara put his hands on Shou's shoulders. "I can reschedule the interview that you're supposed to do tonight if you want a little more time with Lucky-san. But please Shou-san... I'm begging you. Leave tonight with me before something happens. If you end up hospitalized in the US, even from a fainting spell... aside from it being the end of my career for disobeying orders, Matsumoto-san will be furious at you for such irresponsibility."
Okay, so You broke his normally calm character to try and persuade Shou to do as he wanted in a different way... but if it worked, then all the better.
Akihiko couldn't help but begin laughing. "Well, Ruki DID get a Kindle with recipes and cookbooks pre-loaded onto it... a gift from Shou-san actually... so he MAY get a bit better. I plan on teaching him to cook over the holidays."
"I'll have the fire department notified." Yuuji pipped up from where he was laying.
That brought a smirk to Narcissus' face. "I'm a diva, Michi-kun... I demand attention from EVERYONE. You're hardly excluded from that category, especially as my physical therapist." he suddenly mock pouted. "I'll have to find new help when you start your music career. Wonder how many I'll end up firing because they couldn't live up to your standards?" the man winked before Tanaka began talking about their relationship.
The fact that Michi truly understood... was a good feeling.
He hadn't wanted to hurt his friend because of his developing relationship with Izzy... but on the other hand, Akihiko wouldn't give up his lover for anything.
Blue eyes closed as he released Michi's hands and lay his head on his arms. "Mmmm... the ice packs feel good... I could get used to this... maybe I'll do something similar over the holidays... especially to keep any soreness out of my muscles after a workout..."

Shou turned around to a totally different You. Stressed, worried..maybe even a bit fearful? He didn't know the man that well but the words caused him to blink a few times. His own brief moments of confusion were always subdued by a slight memory loss between Point A (Sai) and Point B (Shou) so it took him a moment to reconnect their conversation.
"I'm tired, Ishihara-san, not sick. I'm not a weakling like others. I've survived far worse than that...even Matsumoto-san's foul temper. And I'm sure you're worried about money, the label and all that. But I'm just helping out a close friend, whose dream should blossom just by my being here for him. I can sacrifice a little for that." he answered with a smile trying to comfort his 'babysitter'.
"Mm...You're so persistent Ishihara-san. While I'm not worried about Matsumoto-san's temper, what am I to do with you?" he chuckled, " Although trust me, you won't lose your career over...this. You remind me of H....Yamada-san right now." And that seemed to lighten the superstar's disposition.
"Ah...but...He pulled out his phone and looked at the time. Maybe....could you...ask if the people I'm going to meet with if can meet me here? Then, I could do both things I want to do all in one place and afterwards...mm...we could pick up my things at Ishi-san's." He sighed bending just a little to Ishihara-san's change in demeanor. Thinking about the people that worried about him though was hard to do actually, because to think about Naoko brought an uncomfortable feeling within Shou's head space.
"But...I'd really like to get some sleep. Unless this flight is really comfortable, I might not be so inclined to take it." he admitted as he seemed to be slowly agreeing to the idea of the trip. Although, Ishihara-san would know from his partner that Shou's mercurial mind sometimes flipped on a dime. So until he was actually on the plane itself, there was no telling.
Then he laughed and winked, "Be my pillow and I'll go." That was something he doubted this man would do so he could fool around with the thought and tease him. "Ah..but I must get back to work now or they will think I've disappeared."

Michi just shook his head because Akihiko sure was a diva sometimes. A BIG NEEDY DIVA. "Once I'm doing music career stuff, you're going to use my Mom to help you out as a physical therapist. Why? Because A. She's not going to be interesting to you. And B. She can keep her mouth shut. And. C. Because I know she does a good job. And D. Because I know you won't fire her because you'd have me to deal with afterwards." He smirked and gave Akihiko's hands a squeeze just before they were released.
Yes, he understood everything all too well. And eventually, he'd have to find other companionship to pursue night time pleasures. But it probably was for the best overall. However, the friendship would be just fine. They could still do beers and watch shows together...hang out and maybe even go to dinner when Akihiko had time. It would all work out. Yes, it would! Ok so it would take a some time to adjust....
"When you get home have Ishi-san put them on your back any time you're laying down until your back feels more comfortable on its own. Sleep on your stomach while things are healing. And make sure you don't do anything to put too much pressure on your back." Yes, that warning was for other reasons he didn't explain but he was sure that Akihiko would understand.

Eyes closed, relaxing, Akihiko couldn't help but pout. "That's not going to make my other issues any better you know." he replied with a sigh. "But it'd be better than injuring myself all over again I suppose..."
"Don't fall asleep, you're supposed to be playing for Lucky-san, remember?" Takagi spoke up, to which his cousin only groaned.
"But I'm so comfortable..." the young Koyasu replied. "Then again... he doesn't have anyone to play flute for him, does he?" he sighed again. "Michi-kun, could you find out when Ruki needs me exactly?"
"You can use me for a pillow all you want as long as you're on the plane. I'll make sure it's first class and that you're not interrupted. Hell I'll book the entire first class section for you so no one will be there except me of course." Ishihara replied with a slightly relieved smile. "Your interview will be scheduled for here. Anything you need, Shou-san. Just tell me and it'll be done, I swear. In fact I'm going to go ahead and go get your things from Ishi-san's, just so you don't have to deal with that and you'll have more time here."
You figured that he could do at least that... plus it gave him a good excuse to leave and do a little digging as per Izo's orders.
"It's not the money or the label I'm worried about. It's you, Shou-san. You shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard, even if you ARE just tired. No doubt you've a hangover from last night too if I'm not mistaken?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
But then Ishihara released the blond musician. "Don't think about anything but what you've got to do right now. I'll take care of all the arrangements."
