☆ ☆【It seemed that this new environment had some rather worrisome limitations for some of their teammates, though Mogwai was more than happy to lend a hand to Dune after their companion tried and failed to find a means of pushing himself through the thick mud by rotating his tail like a propeller. Gently and carefully, the Bewear lifted his companion up and out of the mud, lightly scraping off as much of the excess that had landed all over him from earlier and holding him in his arms while taking care to make sure he was comfortable. Mogwai smiled brightly as Dune thanked him and reassured him that he was fine as he tucked his wings in. ”Goooood~” the bear said happily with a nod, ”Teeeeell Moooogwaaaaaiiii iiiif nooooot coooomfyyyyy.” If he was going to be carrying Dune around for pretty much the entire time until they reached the next floor, Mogwai wanted to ensure that his companion was safe and comfortable for the whole time. He knew well enough to control his otherwise massive strength as to not accidentally hurt his much smaller teammates, but still…
With that situation settled for now, Mogwai and Dune found their attention pulled towards Daphnes as he had suddenly evolved and changed, now looking radically different from his former Bagon form with a thick, rounded shell encasing him. Chickpea, having backpedaled upon realizing that he had gotten a little too far ahead, remarked on the Bagon’s evolution to which Mogwai was happy to agree. The Bewear chuckled a little as Dune said that Daphnes looked more like a ball than a sword now, nodding eagerly in agreement as Chickpea said that the new Shelgon would surely send enemies flying when he tackled them to the dragon’s amusement. ”Yeeeeees, strooooong taaaaackle!” Mogwai happily chipped in. Surely now that Daphnes had evolved, that meant he would be quite a bit stronger than before, right?
But anyways, they couldn’t keep getting distracted, they had a quest to complete after all! With Mogwai suggesting that they keep going, the group seemed to agree on the prospect of pushing forward. Chickpea taking the lead with his magical mushroom lighting the way, the Bewear followed closely behind with Dune in tow, keeping his ears perked as he listened for any noises that seemed out of the ordinary and smiling as he picked up on Chickpea’s humming. He noticed how Daphnes seemed to be having a bit of a difficult time getting around through the mud with his much bulkier body, and would’ve offered to help out his fellow knight as well though it seemed the Shelgon managed to find a way to handle it. However, as they made to proceed down the trail Chickpea had chosen, Mogwai couldn’t help having a thought that perhaps it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make some kind of mark on the trees or something so that they wouldn’t lose their way so easily just in case. With that in mind, he cocked back a fist and let it fly at the first tree on the trail they came across, the sudden crack as wet wood splintered beneath the blow echoing through the air around them. The Bewear paused momentarily at the sudden silence that followed as his teammates glanced at him, Dune piping up first as he asked why the bear had done that. Oh, right… maybe he should’ve mentioned what his plan had been first, because otherwise it definitely seemed weird for him to just punch a tree seemingly out of nowhere.
Chickpea seemed equally confused by what had just happened, as did Daphnes, though after a moment the Shelgon appeared to get it as he asked if the Bewear was marking their way in a slightly muffled voice. ”Yeeeees, maaaaark waaaayyyy soooo nooooot looooost,” Mogwai agreed heartily with a nod, sheepishly rubbing at an ear with his free paw, ”Soooorryyyyy… Mooooogwaaaaaiiii shoooouuuuuld teeeeeell beeeefooooore…” Still, his lack of claws would make the task of marking a bit more difficult, and perhaps just punching the bark off of trees wasn’t necessarily the best way of going about it. Surely there had to be a better method of doing this… Mogwai’s ears perked up as a thought occurred to him, remembering how Chickpea had flung those sharp leaves at the Sableye during their battle back in the crystal cave. Maybe that could be a better way of marking the trees, plus the leaves the Chikorita had used were all shiny and glowy so they could easily be told apart from all the other leaves growing on the trees. ”Chiiiiickpeeeeeaaaa uuuuse puuuurreeeettyyyy leeeeaaaaves toooo maaaark?” the Bewear asked, pointing a paw towards Chickpea and gesturing towards the gouged spot in the tree he had punched to try and get the message across a bit better.】☆ ☆

How did I come here? Mystery Dungeon Another lost soul? Xiao Lan, Beltigre, Shade, and Daiki
☆ ☆【Fianna couldn’t help but be amused as Xiao Lan, taking Shade’s question of joining them in the mud as an invitation to start up a new game, dove right into a puddle and splashed around until she was completely covered in mud and moss. That was definitely going to be a bit of a pain to clean up, hopefully if all else failed the next floor would have some clean water available so they could wash off all of this muck. For the time being, though, the Braixen couldn’t help but smile as the now mud-covered Noibat declared herself as the swamp monster while making adorable little growls and trying her best to seem threatening. It was… honestly hard to really take it seriously when Xiao Lan was so cute even as she tried to play the part of a scary monster, but Fianna was content to join in as Daiki played along as he put on a fearful act. Squealing in mock horror at the sudden appearance of the ‘swamp monster’, the fire fox ran to hide behind the Zoroark as she pleaded with him to not let the monster eat her. Xiao Lan seemed quite amused at everyone joining in, declaring herself as the swamp monster of the dream land and that she would chase them away in her best scary voice. Fianna tried her best to resist the urge to burst out laughing, god this was just so adorable! Still, the Braixen gave a yelp of playful fear as the ‘swamp monster’ came running around Daiki to try and catch her, running around the Zoroark not too quickly so that Xiao Lan was always just narrowly behind her. ”Oh noooo, it’s after meeee!” she cried out in comical fright to add onto Daiki’s act, ”I’m not that tasty, I promise! Spare me, oh monster of the swamp!”
Before Xiao Lan the ‘swamp monster’ could manage to catch her, however, Shade jumped in as the Chengshen playfully tossed a small ball of mud at the Noibat. The projectile landed atop the little bat’s head, causing her to laugh as she commented on how slimy it felt. Shade bounded over, rolling around in the mud as Xiao Lan joined in and buried the Chengshen a little in more of it. Moments later, they stood back up and shook the mud off, sending it flying around all over the place. Fianna reflexively stepped back a little to avoid most of the splatter, but otherwise didn’t seem too bothered by what did end up landing on her. She was just happy that they could still play around and have a little fun in spite of what was going on, though Shade seemed ready to keep moving on as it simply brushed against Xiao Lan and moved onwards as she declared for them to do it again. However, the Noibat didn’t seem too upset by their little game ending, suggesting that maybe they could use the mud as camouflage.
Fianna was inclined to agree with Daiki as he said that he didn’t think that would work quite as well as the little bat thought, after all she had a feeling that they would have to fight against the next guardian to be able to move on anyways regardless of what happened. That and she'd prefer to not get her fur any dirtier than it already was if it could be helped. ”It’s still a very good idea, Xiao Lan~” she spoke up encouragingly with a smile, ”Still, I think it would be hard for any bad guys to smell us coming with how humid it is here. I can barely smell much of anything else myself.” She hummed as she glanced thoughtfully at the area around them, ears perking up as a thought occurred to her. ”Although… maybe we can use the mud against any mean guardians that try to mess with us by flinging it at them,” she suggested with a chuckle, bending down and scooping up a small amount of mud with her free hand, molding it around a little to form it into a more ball-like shape. ”We can have our own little mud bombs to help slow them down if we really need it,” she added, flinging the ball towards a nearby tree and letting it splatter all over the bark to demonstrate. Of course, that might not exactly work too well if the next guardian they fought happened to be a Muk like Daiki had suggested, though it was certainly a nice thought to keep in mind.】☆ ☆

Beltigre kept a brave face (for who exactly, it wasn't clear; she was the only one around) as she made her way deeper into the tunnel. "Man, it's too dark in here," she grumbled to herself. But, an idea came to her: maybe if she could just conjure up something to light the way, it wouldn't be so bad? She furrowed her brow and shut her eyes as she thought extra hard on making something to help light the way. And eventually, she conjured up a night light. With nowhere to plug it in. "..." She tried again, and was able to make a flashlight show up. "Hey, that's better!" She slapped the "on" button with her paw, and nothing happened. "What the...what now?!" Beltigre swatted at it over and over until the battery well finally popped open. No batteries. "rrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRR!" Beltigre gripped the flashlight in her mouth, and lit the top of it on fire with her fangs. "Ah ha! That'sh mow likhet!" Counting the task as a success, Beltigre moved forward.

Luna tilted her head as Raf rattled off some possibilities for the eevee's change in appearance. Genes were a concept that flew over the young pokemon's head - she had actually never heard the word until now - but a weird rock made perfect sense to the pokemon. After all, her kind were prone to evolving into a variety of different forms, most of them due to some strange stone or other. Plus... "I, um, did feel something hit me... Maybe it was one of those rocks you were talking about?" Luna offered, wishing she actually had the object to show. But, if it was some sort of weird form-changing rock, it made perfect sense to Luna that it would vanish or crumble to dust after doing whatever it was supposed to do. Most evolution stones did, after all.
The eevee wasn't oblivious to Raf consoling Noah. Honesly, she was actually concerned about the brash dewott suddenly growing quiet. It was just that Allure's complement kind of... Stole most of the eevee's attention. "Really...?" One could swear the eevee's eyes sparkled as her tail pretty much became a fluffy fan for Raf with how fast it was wagging. At first, Luna giggled at the mud on Allure's claw... Then she noticed just how high up the dark creature's arm the mud was. Peering over the side, the silvery eevee let out a quiet squeak before scootching a bit more towards the center of Allure's back, next to one of the large spikes protruding from her spine.

Once again the sableye lunged at Daemon, so the houndoom sunk his fangs into the creature's shoulder when it got close enough. He didn't have quite the strength Samson did, so he wasn't able to fling his attacker aside, but the electricity coursing through his bite briefly stunned the strange ghost. It wasn't much, but it was enough for Daemon to turn and hook his wiry tail around one of the sableye's knees before jerking the creature off its feet. It gave the devil dog enough time to back away from the shard-covered ground and check on Samson. It seemed the old timer was doing alright for himself, though, so the houndoom opted not to distract him and instead kept on his guard for if any other sableye wanted to interfere.

Ulani had scooped as many candies as she could possibly carry into her arms, contemplating using the power of cheek storage to store even more. Unfortunately, quite a few of the candies were covered in muck; even if protected by the wrappers, there was no way she would be putting those things in her mouth as they were. Which was a shame because she loved these candies and the more she could take back, the better. Instead, she shuffled her cargo in her arms, looking to Prim as the other indicated that they ought to keep moving.
The Emolga gave a firm nod in agreement. "Right flower! Let’s go! This place is still too smelly!" Because it really was. Of course, her ears drooped as movement became impeded by the appearance of fog; not the same whispy dark spooky fog like they’d encountered on the first floor, a thicker more wet fog. That was still spooky but not like ghost spooky.
Ulani’s bottom lip trembled a bit as their vision became obscure, catching out of the corner of her eye Prim’s reaction to this change as well. "I thought dreams were supposed to be nice flower," she gave Prim a bit of a defeated look, "did we do something wrong to the Darkrai? Is it mad? I didn’t want to beat it up but it was being so mean!" She mumbled, shuffling in place. She eyed the trails as they were gestured too by Prim, squinting a bit but clearly uncertain of what was the best choice. This was so hard, where was the blue haired man when he was needed?!

Dice’s head would’ve tilted to the side if it wouldn’t have resulted in the skull cap shifting and blocking his view to Cling. He did chirp loudly, throwing his little hands in the air. "The gwound!" He announced proudly and then shoved another piece in his mouth. Was he going to chew them at any point? That was the question of the day. "Silly Noodle. Gwound candeh!" The baby was clearly delighted to continue eating the things but seemed to have his fill, getting to his feet and making so sort of odd sucking noises; apparently, this was how he would go about consuming these here candies. Who taught him this? Who knew. The fact that he seemed to believe eating this candy from some swamp infested plane was an alright thing to do showed just how much things did not phase him.
He did turn fully to look at Cling now that he could properly keep the cap from moving, noting that the poor Noodle seemed a bit winded. "Noodle need nap?" The baby asked, beginning to toddle and allowing the serpent to use him as a free ride for the time being. It seemed so odd that the Klow would need a nap, they’d only just begun to get anywhere! "Noodle candy! Make strongeh!" That much the Cubone remembered from experience with Sebastian. Maybe at least. He offered one of the few pieces that he hadn’t shove in his mouth at this point to the creature on his shoulder. "Eat Noodle!"

"Oh, t-that makes sense," Dune said after Mogwai explained what he was doing with the tree. "That's sm-smart." Dune knew his way around the cave he used to live in like the back of his wing. Um, except he couldn't actually see the back of his wings. Well. Anyways, he knew the way around really well. He'd never been in a place where he could get lost. Did Mogwai know to do this because he was a knight?
"H-how did you two become knights, S-sirs Daphnes and Mogw-wai?" Dune wanted to know more about his new partners. Surely they'd have some interesting stories, unlike him who had spent so much of his life holed up in a cave. Oh, well, actually, those people attacked, and I went to that cool haunted place with Chickpea, and now we're going on this adventure... so I guess I do have good stories to tell. He glanced at Chickpea, who seemed to be smiling about something. Yeah, good stories.

Unfortunately, Noah had slipped into a rather anxious train of thought as he stared silently at the candy between his paws. His mind was spinning over some random overthinking that the inquiries had brought on; he’d remembered that Lala was mad at him previously, which led him to wonder if he’d be getting in trouble for being trapped in this dream. And the man was already upset with a few of his other team members, which meant it was only time before something bad happened and then what if he didn’t wake up and there were no more walnuts or worse, he got abandoned and hedidn’twanttodealwithallthataga-
Immediately he snapped out of the terrible trance as Rafflesia spoke up, giving her a startled look. "Wha?!" He said, clearly unaware of what had been going on around him in those precious few moments. He had to stare at the Ivysaur, shaking his head and squinting to recall what she’d said. He’d just barely managed to hear it after all. "Ah, sorreh sheila! Ain’ nothin’ ta worreh ‘bout. Was jus’… thinkin’!" A dangerous thing to have done. He shot her an oversized grin just to try and reaffirm that he was alright, tucking the candy away.
"I’ll ah… snack on it latah! Migh’ need ta nibble on a tucka’ or somethin’ if we’re here in these dreams ta long," did a pokemon get hungry while stuck in a dream? It was all very weird to think about, to be honest. Taking a moment to look around, the Dewott paused and stared blankly at Luna for a long minute, expression quickly swapping from surprised to confused. "When’d ya change color sheila?" Wow, you missed a lot when you decided to think. He’d avoid that in the future. He noted she was looking over the edge and followed suit, making a face at the sight of the muck underneath that Allure was bravely trudging through. "Tha’ mud gonna eat us next? Good thing we’ve got a ride on a big one, else we’d be drownin’ down tha’." Yuck. That was a nasty thought.

Prim was impressed with just how many candies Ulani could hold, impressed and a bit concerned -- she still didn't know if they could trust these candies. She herself had tried bunching them together to try and make a neat pile, one that would make it easy to carry, but well... candies didn't work like that, especially when you were small. Still though, she could still see ahead of her -- not that it did much.
There was a thick fog, one that literally weighed her down with the condensation in the air, and figuratively too; it had the same effect on Ulani too. Her right cheek ballooned out, showing her frustration at the situation, but a side-glance at Ulani showed that this wasn't the best mentality to have. She felt bad, and was left even more frustrated at her lack of ability to offer words of wisdom; this was the worst time to be a mute. She had to do something though, she couldn't let Ulani's spirits fall so low.
Carefully placing her candy down and freeing up her hands, Prim held up a finger up to indicate that her friend should wait. Maybe... if she.. trying her best, Prim did a quick spin, summoning up a few petals without utilizing their destructive abilities. Snatching one of the petals from out of the air, she delicately placed it to Ulani's nose, then mimed her breathing it in; it wasn't much of an air freshener, but it might help with the scent. She had another idea in mind, and it required at least one hand... so she wasn't able to employ her own tactic to herself; a shame, but she would suffer through it!
It was as unstable as before, but she managed a shaky energy ball. It was small, and fluctuated in a concerning manner, but it provided an odd glow that could work as a light for them. Prim showed it off to Ulani, hoping it, and the petal, would help ease her some. Blindly scooping up her candies, she glanced back over at the trails. The... best way to go, was... wherever! Standing around wasn't going to do them any good, so she'd pick at random and then go from there.
And that was exactly what she did, though she did make sure that Ulani was in on the plan and following around, once she executed it.

Chickpea dipped his head into a nod, an extended, "oooh", leaving his lips in the process. Marking the trees, that was smart! He would have never thought to do that, it was a good thing Sir Mogwai had done it for them! A soft gasp left his lips as the bear looped him into the marking process, before he nodded his head a second time, more eager. "I can definitely do that!" he promised, then snapped his head forward in the direction of the inverted tree trunk. Pink and purple leaves were released instantaneously, finding their mark and digging deep into the sunken bark. He jumped up, pleased, when he glanced over at them and saw that the three leaves were visible, glowing even in the heavy fog, and acted like proper lights; this was going to work!
Now that their first tree was marked, they could continue on. Chickpea, pleased to be useful, began trotting along the vague path, though he remained within earshot of the party. Dune had asked a really interesting question, how had their two new friends become knights, and he was eager to hear the answer.

"Why would anyone make an item that'd hurt the user?" Humans were... weird, and so were their creations. Though, with the description Dotty gave, a better description of her item was 'malicious'. It was just a good thing that Dotty's ability nullified that nasty little effect; just more proof about how cool this group's list of abilities were. Or, well, the group excluding her. Vivace turned to look at Piper upon her suggestion of taking turns on which tree was marked. "Okay!" she chirped, perking up at the organized idea, that way they had their own. system to work off of. She squinted at Radium, not out of suspicion but to try and see if she could discern the green of her ear-tip. It looked black to her, not green, but... it was still a nice color, either way!

Oh, what shade of green, Vivace asked? "Bright. Bright, garish, obnoxious green." Ai might have also known a certain espeon with that pelt color who she loathed, but she'd think the color was unappealing either way. She huffed away the unnecessary emotions. "I believe so, but my sample size of one isn't exactly definitive," she answered Dotty. It was amusing to thing that a rare color differentiation could be 'common' for the species, and it made Ai chuckle.
Radium's statement about the green caught Ai a little off guard. She peered closer at the pichu's ear. "I think, if it were that color of green, I wouldn't mind." A nice, dark, sensible green... now there was something she could understand the appeal of.
It was nice being able to chat about these things with other pokemon. She'd never really felt like opening up with Arezu's other pokemon, though she was beginning to enjoy Hikaru's company. The circumstances of why she originally joined the team, and how she'd been planning to betray them...well, it was difficult to get over that. But now she'd officially turned her back on all that shady s**t nonsense, and she could just enjoy others' company. No need to worry about being ordered to fight them in the future. Ai felt the ghost of a purr ticking at her throat. She coughed.
"I don't know why I am the way I am," she said to Piper. "I never knew what my parents looked like, so I have no idea what color they were." She'd been told often enough though that her odd coloring that made her stand out would most likely be a bane for her, unless she could learn to use it to her advantage somehow.

Argo was keeping an eye out for any possible loot laying about still, when he ended up doubling back at a tree he flew by. Were these trees growing unnatural things? It seemed like there was even some kind of candy in this one in particular. He settled himself onto a branch, carefully balancing his shiny stone treasure upon it before deciding to eat some of the candies himself. After more than a mouthful, he found himself glowing, though, the branch creaking underneath him as his form grew bigger. Once it was over, the seabird blinked, looking down at himself. Did he just evolve? And, dammit! It seemed during that, he had lost his precious shiny crystal. After a bit of struggling, he got out of the tree and scooped up a fresh crystal into his new spacious bill. He could carry so much now... in fact...

Daiki chuckled as the little swamp monster chased the braixen around. They were all pretty good at playing along with the noibat. After Shade distracted the Noibat with a ball of mud, the suggestion to cover themselves in mud to deceive anything that might lay ahead for them popped up. Not that he wasn't against getting dirty, but he pointed out it probably wouldn't work as the little bat intended it to. "Hm.... mudslinging does seem more useful." he commented thoughtfully as Fi took it into a different direction.
