No matter how many times they expy Agumon into the next-gen, nothing beats the original.
Personally I like the villians in Season 3 best. Xros wars goes back to formula rather well, but it wasn't as set apart as season 3 was from the first 2.

it was just
digivolve(all digimons can do) and warp digivolve(only two at that time (season 1))
then came
dna digivovle(only 10 digimons could do it(i think)) and mode change(only one can do it)
afterwards
Bio-emerge digivolution(only 4 people could do it) and agan came the warp digivolve(only 1 in the show(season 3)) and also mode change(for gallantmon)
later on.. humans can become digimons
h spirit(forgot the name) b spirit(forgot name aswell) fusion evolusion(only 2 people could do it. which are takuya=aldamon and the dude=beyowolfmon) unity evolution(two aswell takuya=emperor greymon and the other dude=i forgot the name) and came the full unity type evolution(all of the humans become 1 digimon including the spirits)
then came the idea of a new type of mode change
burst digivolution and rune digivolution
now they invented another new type of dna digivolve
digi xross(or also known as digi cross)
... man that was long
