At first, Shan was very nervous, since this was the first time that the master had actually kissed him willingly. All he needed to think about, however, was that the master had wanted it and was willing to kiss him, so it had to be okay. Nothing should go wrong at this point, hopefully. As long as it wasn't forced or anything, then he had nothing to worry about.

Kanda contineud to kiss Shan. Heclosed his eyes as he let himself be melted into it. 'His lips are soft..' He thoguht as he lightly cupped his cheek, letting the other hand rest on Shan's shoulder. Their second but first willing kiss...It felt nice...

By now, Shan was very sure that he had died and gone to heaven. He didn't know how, and he didn't care. He was just sure that he was in heaven. This couldn't possibly be a dream. It was too real, too blissful...

Unfortunately, sometimes dreams are too good to be true. Dreams were fantasies, and nothing more. Sometimes they can be omens, or even signs, but dreams that came to him always came from the gate of ivory.

After a minute, Kanda pulled away from the kiss. He took in a breath then exhaled and sighed. He looked up at Shan and wandered what the boy was thinking about.

'Did he like it..?' He thought as he looked up into his eyes. "Shan..how..was that?" He asked as he pulled his hands away from Shan's cheek and shoulder.

Shan wasn't sure how to reply. Should he simply say that he liked the kiss? Or should he describe it a little? How exactly did it feel to him? It definitely felt real, but it also made him feel like he was in heaven or in a blissful dream.

Of course, he didn't know how to form words out of his thoughts. The question was a bit of an odd question to ask, especially after a kiss. He didn't know what he could say or how he should say it.

Kanda watched Shan as he gave a confused and a pondering look. "Oh.." Kanda said finally getting why and hitting himself mentally. This feeling was so new to him...he was expecting Shan to know all the answers, not even putting into consideration he didn't.

"Well, I guess it doesn't mattter." He said as he leaned in and kissed his cheek lightly. He then got up and yawned. "I'm going to go take a nap. You can do what you want." He said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know what to say," Shan said, feeling guilty for not answering the master's question. "In truth, I really liked the kiss. I just didn't know how to say that. Please don't blame yourself or be annoyed." He looked away, ashamed that he had been the cause of the possible troubled atmosphere.

Kanda looked at him then shook his heafd. "Its fine. I shouldn't..have put you on the spot like that." He said then shrugged. "Don't worry about it." He said as he patted his head lightly then turned and walked to the door, then stopped and thoguht for a moment. "I'm...glad..you like it.." He said then left the room with a light blush on his face.

Shan stayed in the study, staring at the door that the master had just left through. He hoped that the master wasn't too troubled. It would be a bit terrible if he was, and Shan didn't want to be the cause of any worry in the master.

Walking in a direction opposite the door, he took a book from the shelf and sat down near a light to read. Despite all the concerns running through his mind, he was a bit happy. He didn't have to worry after all. In that case, everything should be okay.

Kanda went into his room and closed the door. He looked aroudn the room then flopped on the bed and looked at the cieling. Staring and wondering about Shan...that seemed to be his new thing now. Wondering what the boy was doing.

He felt his lips lightly. He liked the kiss....it was nice. He wondered how the boy made him feel this way. He sighed lightly then closed his eyes and slowly started to fall asleep.

Shan continued to read the book that he picked out. The book had the practically the same plot as the book he read before, but it was made by a different author and it had a different setting and so. Even the characters had different personalities, but the whole story had the same general beginning and end.

In many ways, it was like the other book he had read and it was like his life. The only difference was that the main character's family was kind to him. There were no complications between them. It was a family that Shan had wished he had.

Kanda opened his eyes to darkness. 'night already..' He thoguht as he yawned. He got up from his bed and went out the door. He was hungry now, and wanted some food.

He went up to the head cook and asked what was for dinner. When he said ginger chicken with steamed vegetables, Kanda nodded then went to sit down and wait for the food. He looked out the window and let his mind wonder about his family and other matters.

Shan was already near to finishing half of the book, but he was growing sleepy. It was hard for his eyes to stay open, and he was faintly aware of a blanket being placed over him. He didn't bother to look up, being sure that it was either the master or Nezu who put the blanket on him.

Would the master be worried if he never left the study? Probably not. This large house was supposedly safe. Nobody in their right minds would intrude and try to do some terrible deed.

Kanda waited then after some time the food came. He ate his food then sighed as he finished. He had alot of work to do. He's been procrastinating on his share of the business his father gave him. He sighed as he got up and stretched.

He left the table then went to the study to get started on the work. He opened the doors then saw Shan sleeping. He raised an eyebrow then shook his head. He went to the desk, tiptoeing there then started on the mountain of work he had to do.

Nezushi, as a mouse, hid in a small crater he made in the blanket he put over Shan. He didn't doubt that the man of the house had seen him, but he also didn't doubt that he wasn't going to do anything to him. There was no danger at the moment, so he just relaxed and attempted to sleep.

Of course, being a light sleeper, he wouldn't have to worry about anyone trying to hurt the boy. A single whiff of a tense atmosphere would wake him up and he would attack any threat he would see. It was just how he was and it pretty much proved how much he cared for those important to him.
