With only one out of two explanations given, Chickpea nodded his head, slowly, then glanced over at Dune -- now in Sir Mogwai's arms -- before he hopped closer to inspect Sir Daphnes' new body. It was so.. round! And just like a ball, which probably was not what a sword was shaped like; he didn't know, he'd never seen one before! Still though, it was pretty cool, and Chickpea made sure that the round knight knew of it, "I bet now, when you tackle enemies, they'll go flying off! Like whoooosh!" He could already see it, some shadow-cloaked pokemon being rammed into at full speed by the brave knight, then soaring off into the air with only a soft twinkle of light to show where they'd last been.
It was pretty cool.
Once they were on the trail again, and now actively walking it -- together, as a team, Chickpea hummed a song to himself, one he made up as he went along, but stopped abruptly when the groaning crack of wood reverberated through the air. It was pretty creepy, just coming out of nowhere, and he half expected to turn around and find that a tree had fallen onto the path. But, that wasn't the case. Instead, what had really happened was, Sir Mogwai had... punched a tree.
Chickpea would've asked why, but Dune beat him to the punch.

Cling slumped, looking at Dice, and deciding that, as long as he could, he would be taking a hitch on the little pokemon. "Oh? Where did you find candy....?" he queried warily. Did the pokemon dream it up or something. He looked up ahead, eyelids dipping a bit as he yawned, and tried to stay up and up. Gosh, that battle had taken more out of him than it should have. At least he had Dice to keep him moving.

Shade smiled faintly as Xiao Lan eagerly swept down to join in a game that didn't exactly exist. They smiled faintly, scooping up a bit of mud on one paw, and lightly tossing it at the baby in playfulness. Daiki was playing along with Xiao Lan, but Shade seemed more interested in physically playing in the mud. They moved to rub up against Xiao Lan, rolling in the mod, and then shaking. With a playful bump, they moved to go on ahead, looking around, and smiling back at the group as Fianna joined in on the game. It was nice everyone could still relax and have fun, despite the situation.

Indeed, the shard had an awful taste to it as he held it in his beak. To remedy that, Argo held the stone tight in his beak before blasting a water attack out of his mouth, washing away the taste without losing the stone. It seemed the rest of his group was also doing their duty looting, and has he flew past a branch, which caused something to drop onto Luna. He had no idea what it was, but as he peeked back, it seemed the eevee was a different color now. Interesting....
Dotty smiled sympathetically as Radium admitted her small body couldn't handle all the extra electricity. "I don't know about that. Having all that extra energy can be really powerful, if used properly." She explained. Nevertheless, she agreed with Piper in that soon enough, she was certain Radium would grow into a strong raichu. Well, if that was what she wanted, anyways.
For the sake of avoiding this situation in the future though, they took turns talking about their abilities, and Dotty felt rather proud that Piper thought it was so useful. "Y-yeah... It was kind of alarming to discover. Mostly because I didn't really have a passing familiarity with my ability before my trainer gave me the orb, so at first when she explained what it did, I panicked because I thought it was going to hurt me and I'd been carrying it around not knowing..." She chuckled sheepishly. She was intrigued by Piper's ability as well once the noivern explained it. "Well that's quite nice. I'm glad we aren't fighting!" She relied quite a bit on her screens for defense, so fighting a pokemon that could get around them sounded like a nightmare. "Well if we happen to fight defensively focused pokemon, then we'll rely on you to break those barriers." Dotty encouraged. Ai also added that the noivern could attack through Dotty's shields so that they didn't prove to be a hindrance. "Ooh, an excellent point. Perhaps we can test it out against the next guardian we come across?"
Though she'd overreacted about Radium's new colors initially, Dotty was glad to have the reassurances of her friends that Radium was fine, just differently colored. In fact, Ai explained that she had once had a similar white coat like Radium when she was an eevee, thankful that she wasn't green upon evolution. "Is that a common thing for your species?" Dotty asked curiously. She hadn't spent a lot of time outside of the lab, really. She was also curious as to the shade of green much like Vivace.

Xiao Lan tried and failed to suppress a giggle as Daiki went along with her act. Giggles would totally give her away, not the fact that they had all just watched her fly right into the mud and splash around in it. Chalk it up to toddler pokemon logic. "Hehehee! Yes, I am the swamp monster of the dream land, and I will chase you awaaaayyy!!!" She mustered up her "scariest" voice, which sounded something like a really bad ghost impression. She was thoroughly amused as Fianna squeaked and hid behind Daiki as a shield, giggling and running around Daiki to try and catch Fianna, but she stopped as she felt more of the wet mud land with a splat on top of her head and roll down her neck. "Waa! Haha eewwww it feels all slimy!~" She shuddered and laughed more at the odd sensation.
Then, when Shade came over, joining in playing in the mud by rolling in it, she helped by picking up some of the muck and half burying Shade in it, squealing and covering her face when they stood again and shook it all off. "Again! Again!" She laughed, but Shade simply bumped her, moving off to scout the area. Though Shade had said nothing, Xiao Lan seemed to pick up on their intention just fine. "Aww, okay..." She wasn't too broken up about it though. Scouting for danger was very important. "Hey! Maybe we can use the mud for camouflage!" She suggested. The mud could mask their scent and fur to help them stay unnoticed hopefully by whatever was ahead.

Noah scoffed at the notion, still eyeing the candy he held between his paws. So maybe once they left he could maybe get some real snacks? That’d be nice assuming Lala wasn’t mad at him still or anything. He had to wonder how the fight was going between him and Mel. Had he even noticed that he was sleeping yet? The Dewott was silent in his thoughts, falling silent for the time being as the group continued through the smelly bog.

Rafflesia nodded in confirmation as Allure checked to make sure she'd heard the species correctly. "Cool. I'll let her know when I wake up I guess." She mused. There was just the issue of ever seeing Allure again outside of their dreams though. In fact she didn't know any of these pokemon or their trainers, so that really was quite the roadblock if they intended on maintaining any semblance of a friendship after all of this.
She watched with Allure as Argo scooped something up in his mouth. Looked like some colorful gem. "I guess maybe that's the valuable kind?" It was the only reason she could imagine Argo willingly scooping up some swamp water into his mouth.
Speaking of bad taste, she warned her companions not to eat the candy they'd found, at least not the ones in the swamp water, unless they wanted to experience a similar unpleasant sensation as Argo was facing now. As they talked about it though, Luna piped up, seeming quite nervous about suddenly turning white. "Uh.... That's... Definitely odd. Normally it takes some kind of special rock to do that. Or a rare gene, but you're usually born with special colors in that case rather than changing them randomly. I saw a girl use the rock on her paras once. Never seen it happen outta the blue though..." She explained, hoping to try and keep Luna calm.
As they continued to travel, Raf noticed that Noah seemed to have gone quiet, which was uncharacteristic of the otter. Or at least, it was certainly a change from what Raf was used to. "You uh... You doin' okay there bluey?" She asked. "You've been just staring at that candy for a while now. If you really wanna eat it I ain't gonna judge." Raf insisted. Maybe he was just really hungry? How did that even work in dreams anyway?

Daiki was glad to see this side of the Braixen. He would have never guessed when they first met that she would have a mischievous side to her. He really appreciated it. However, he was rather distracted as the other two members of Team Fluff that was present were playing in mud. Xiao Lan played the spooky mud monster, and Fi played along with him, hiding behind him. Thank Arceus his fur was black, as his face felt warm as she had huddled behind him. "Oh, please spare us, swamp monster!" he plead, chuckling when the little one chased her around. Shade was having fun too, slinging mud at the noibat and even shaking off some of the mud, causing it to fly everywhere. Daiki had flinched back reflexively from the mud, but was otherwise not bothered that some of the mud had got on him. Xiao Lan then suggested they cover themselves in mud to camouflage themselves in the swamp. "I don't think that would work quite as well as you think." he chuckled.

It seemed like Gail was also satisfied enough with the message she had decided on, so they moved along the path. Already, Ammy's paws were coated in mud. The lupup spotted something ahead, finding it was a pile of candies, scarfing it down eagerly regardless of their surroundings. It was too late by the time Gail had voiced her concern about eating the candies. "It tasted okay... I'm still hungry though...." she assured her companion, tilting her head. She looked around to see if she could find any more food, but it seemed any other candies were far out of reach up in the trees. "Those ones probably would have tasted better.... maybe a tree that grows bones instead might be around...." she murmured, a bit hopeful.

For the most part the group continued walking with relative ease. On her back however was a flurry of activity, from Luna's suddenly altering fur to Raf inquiring as to why Noah had gone quiet. "Your fur does look pretty. Let's make sure not to sully it with mud." Allure grinned, lifting one of her claws for a moment to show how caked in mud it was. In fact, the bog she'd been walking through was growing dangerously deep, it was now up to her belly, but up ahead she noticed the ground seemed not quite as liquidy, so perhaps they'd made it past the bog and back to solid ground... rather solider ground.

The now Shelgon grunted a laugh as Chickpea exclaimed he could ram foes and send them flying now with his new evolution. He very well could, if only he could manage to get enough speed to do so. Though as they walked, the Shelgon came to notice how slippery the ground was, so it kind of made it easier on him to simply push himself through the mud and made distance that way. Unbeknownst to him he also picked up a passenger; a Crystal Shard, but it too was so caked in mud that it didn't seem to bother Daphnes in the slightest. Not long after this event, the dragon glanced up as Mogwai punched a tree... at first, the dragon himself was kind of confused until he noticed the trees ahead of them all looked the same and there were multipul paths that seemed to spread off in different directions. "Mark our way?" The Shelgon grunted, finding his voice somewhat muffled.... like someone who'd just had work done on their teeth. It was hard to talk after all when his shell had grown over his mouth some. It looked like short sentences would have to do until he evolved again.

As everyone discussed their abilities and what they could possibly do to aid them during the next inevitable battle, Radium focused on her walking. The mud was patchy as they walked, leaving Radium to weave around the mud as best she could. Even if she'd earlier rolled mud on her cheeks to dentin the charge in them, she didn't want to get entirely caked in the gunk. If this was a dream it likely wouldn't effect her that much, but if it wasn't it would and who knew what kind of diseases could be growing in that stuff. But then her attention was drawn to Ai, who mentioned having a coat much like hers. Everyone was curious as to what shade of green Ai mentioned changing into, to which Radium grinned ."I think my trainer might like whatever green you'd be." The mouse spoke up. Pulling down an ear, the mouse noticed the tips had grown out in a dark, dark green... it looked really pretty. "This green is nice." She mentioned, letting her ear flick back up into an upright position.

☆ ☆【Piper kept an ear out for any potential danger while their group shared in their discussion, feeling a bit uncertain how helpful her keen hearing might be in a place like this. For all they knew, there could be all kinds of dangerous things lurking underneath the thick mud that practically blanketed the ground all over this swampy area, and the Noivern wasn’t entirely certain how well she might be able to hear things that were underground… For now, she focused primarily on their conversation as everyone, sans Vivace, shared their abilities so that they would have a better idea of how to coordinate their team in the next fight. Piper smiled as Dotty seemed quite proud when she chipped in about how cool and useful the Duosion’s ability was, though she couldn’t help but sense a bit of unease radiating off of Ai upon seeing the purple orb in the gel-bodied Pokemon’s possession even though it didn’t show on the Espeon’s face. The dragon hummed as Dotty explained a little more about how she’d come to discover her ability, how she didn’t really have any familiarity with it until her trainer gave her the orb. ”Y-Yeah… I’d be p-pretty scared too if I w-was given s-something that could be h-harmful to me… At l-least it seemed t-to have worked out p-pretty well for you,” she said, glancing once more at the strange orb with a slightly more furtive look. Somehow she doubted that the same thing that happened with Dotty would happen with her if she was to hold one of those…
As she shared her own ability when Radium asked her, Piper glanced around as quite a few of the others seemed quite intrigued. The Noivern gave a sheepish smile as Dotty remarked on how nice it was for her to be able to bypass defensive barriers, and that she was glad they weren’t fighting each other. ”Of c-course! I m-mean, we d-don’t really have any r-reason to fight each other… A-And even then, I d-don’t think I’d e-even want to fight you, you’re my f-friend, after all,” she reassured with a soft warble. After all, Dotty was quite sweet and mild-mannered, even if she could be a little quirky at times… not that that was necessarily a bad thing, of course! She perked up a little as Ai chipped in, saying that the Noivern’s ability could be useful for attacking their enemies through Dotty’s shields, that way she could still be protected but still be able to deal damage. ”Oh! Yeah, th-that’s a very g-good point, I hadn’t th-thought about it that w-way,” she said with a small smile, nodding towards the Duosion as she mentioned that if they fought against more defensive enemies she’d be the one to help break them, ”Y-Yeah! Just leave it t-to me!” She nodded in agreement at Dotty’s suggestion that they could test out this strategy against the next guardian they fought. Speaking of… she couldn’t help but wonder what sort of Pokemon they would fight against next as the guardian of this floor. Considering that they had faced off against Sableye in the crystal cave back there… it was likely going to be a Pokemon that would be in some way thematically appropriate for this setting. What kind of Pokemon lived in a swamp, though…?
For now, though, she focused on the path ahead as they headed down the trail Ai had directed them to, carving some good-sized scratches in the first tree they came across to mark the way. She kept her ears tuned, flicking them to and fro to try and listen out for anything particularly suspicious. The mud underneath her was a little squishy and not exactly the most pleasant kind of ground to be walking on, but it definitely felt a good bit more solid than most of the other areas that looked especially marshy and wet. She listened as Ai spoke up, saying that when she’d been an Eevee her coat had not been that much different from how Radium’s was now. The Noivern vaguely remembered hearing that some Eevees tended to sport silvery coats as opposed to the normal brown that was common for their species, though she’d always thought that the silver coats were some kind of rare variant. She tilted her head curiously as Ai went on to further mention how she was glad her fur hadn’t turned bright green when she’d evolved. ”Oh? I d-didn’t think Espeons c-could have g-green coats too... Th-Then again I h-haven't really m-met that many myself,” she added as everyone else jumped in to ask about the green coat Ai could’ve potentially had, ”How did y-you end up with p-purple fur instead when you e-evolved?”
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Vivace preparing to fire off a shot of her water attack to mark another tree nearby, but decided not to since the Noivern had marked a tree not too long ago. ”H-How about we t-take turns marking, V-Vivie?” she suggested, figuring that perhaps it would be best to try and fairly spread out the load between them so that no one was doing the majority of the work. Her attention drifted over towards Radium as the Pichu mentioned that her trainer might like whatever kind of green the Espeon would’ve been, pulling down one of her own ears to examine it and remarking how that green was nice. Piper hadn’t noticed it before, the difference had been somewhat hard to really see, but the tips of Radium’s ears had turned a dark green as well when she’d touched the shiny rock. ”It is p-pretty nice, Ray… That sh-shade of green kind of r-reminds me of the p-pine forests where I used to l-live,” she couldn’t help remarking with a warm smile. Shame that this particular place couldn’t have been a pine forest instead of yucky, boggy swampland…】☆ ☆
