dame hands Karrie a bottle of water, opening it for him and putting the top back on loosely. She seems much more relaxed and calm as the close in on the church than she did when they got closer to her used-to-be house. dame directs him once they are in the cemetary to the right plots.

Thanks. *takes the bottle from her and takes a drink, then continues driving, following dame's directions. When she says to stop, he parks the car and gets out to let Velcore out of the back*

*while talking to Amy that afternoon, Kits had told her about being the featured artist this month at MW. She really wanted Amy to be there when they exhibited her pieces. 3nodding She was very excited, and she'd spent the afternoon and evening working on a new picture*
*now that it was getting late, she started wishing she'd taken Amy's suggestion and gone over there this afternoon. She loved her pets, but she needed to be around people too. She was starting to get lonely, stuck in the house*

dame grabs up the urn, parchment, and calligraphy pen, shutting the door behind her and leading Velcore and Karrie to the graves of her sister and mother. One gravestone is taller and wider than the other; engraved on it:
"Elaine Jane Shannon-Jones
January 18, 1955 - March 9, 1996
Loving Mother, Daughter, and Sister
You will be forever in our hearts."
There is also a nice engraving of two hands holding a full heart. The headstone next to it is smaller and looks like a child's gravestone, with a depection of a generic little girl's profile headshot on it, head bowed and hands pressed together in front of her as if praying. The engraving on this one says:
"Lorraine Elle Jones
March 16, 1988 - April 6, 1994
Cherished Daughter and Sister
Gone too soon, leaving behind an everlasting legacy."
Both the plots are well taken care of, nicely groomed and have flowers. dame mentally notes, however, that the flowers on Lorraine's grave are from the Fourth of July. No fall or Christmas flowers are seen on either grave. Her brows furrow slightly as she looks at them. She herself had been too stressed out and had forgotten to come visit the graves during Christmas, however...
dame pushes it to the back of her mind to think about later. She needs to focus on the current task at hand. dame kneels between the two graves and takes the items out of her pocket. She then looks over her shoulder at Karrie, "You ready?"

*Karrie frowns as he reads the headstones. This part of the trip is starting to remind him of the trips to the graveyard where his father's wives are buried. Despite the fact that they had never known each other, they had been buried very close. There was a plot waiting for Karrie's father between the two women he had loved. Karrie had never met either of them, but had often gone with his father to visit the graves anyway*
*when dame kneels, Karrie's thoughts are brought back to the present. He looks at her and nods* Yeah. *kneels next to her*
*while the two of them looked at the stones, Velcore had circled around to the back of the graves. He now sat between them, watching Karrie and dame*

*walks over to Karrie's house with Smok and lets herself in with her key. Inside, she takes off her coat and gloves and looks around. She hadn't seen Karrie's car, so that meant he was probably at work* Amy? Velcore? *sees a blue fuzzy lump on the floor near one of the heating vents* Thistle! *goes over and sits on the floor next to the pony, who is looking sleepily up at her* Where is everybody? *Thistle looks down the hall and says Amy's name* Oh, is she taking a nap? I'll be quiet so I don't wake her, then. *sits on the floor, petting Thistle*
*curls up on the floor by Kits and Thistle*

*after a while, stands up. Amy still hadn't shown up, and neither had Velcore. Kits opened up the sketchbook she'd brought with her and took out a sketch she'd done earlier and wrote a quick note on the bottom to let Amy know she'd been there. Then, after saying good bye to Thistle, she and Smok left*

dame writes the name Riley Karrie Jones on the piece of parchment in a steady, flowing script. She then blows on it, waiting for it to dry, "Karrie, do you have a knife on you? I forgot scissors."
