Kane blushed as Lan held his hand. "I'll never take mine off either. I never want to be apart from you." Kane snuggled against Lan's chest. Then, a little nervous, he asked, "L-lan? H-have you...ever killed someone before?" Despite all of the figthing that Kane had done in his time, he had never had to go as far as killing someone, but Lan had seemed to do it with ease.

"Yes. You've seen me kill tigers and the demon" Lan said, clearly trying to avoid the question. He quickly changed the topic. "Do you realize how sexy you are?"

Ignoring Lan's latter comment, Kane pushed the matter. "NO, I know about them. But I ment before that. You killed them all like it was natural. Most people would have horible reactions to killing someone for the first time. Those weren't the first people you've killed, are they?" Kane thought that he already knew the answer to that, but he wanted to hear what Lan would tell. Maybe he had a good reason, but Kane was very curious to know the whole truth.

Silent tears began to run down Lan's cheeks. "M.....my brother" he said crying into Kane's shoulder. "H....he looked the demon who killed my mom and dad and who raped me. I was so mad i didn't think. Th.....the next thing i knew, I was covered in blood. I.....I blew up his head" He sobbed and held into Kane's chest. "If.....if you want the ring back....I understand"

Kane wrapped his arms gently around Lan and rocked him back and forth. "Don't cry, now. It's alright." Kane pat him on the back and kissed him on the head. "You think I would not still love you? You don't have enough faith in me." Kane smiled into Lan's sweet smelling hair. Kissing him again, Kane rubbed his back to try and make him relax. "I can understand why you would have done it. It's not your fault; you did not do it to hurt your brother, you did it to protect yourself."

"Please......please don't let go...." Lan said sobbing into Kane's chest. "I deserve to die for what I did" he cried and lost control of his instincts. He started almost yowling like a cat.

"Lan!" Kane gasped. "What are you saying? You shouldn't think like that." Kane caressed Lan's cheek. Looking straight into his eyes, Kane said, "What about me? What would I do if you died?" Even though it was very selfish, Kane could not bare to think of what would happen if he lost Lan.

Lan slowed his crying and kissed Kane deeply. "I don't deserve you" he said as he flattened his ears and rubbed against Kane with his furry ears. He wrapped his tail around Kane's leg.

"Lan," Kane started, "why did you say that? Why did you say you desereved to die?" Kane was confused. "Don't you want to live? Don't you want to be here so we can have all kinds of adventures and dates together?" If there was one thing that Kane could never understand it was people who wanted to take their own lives. No matter what, everyone should try to live as best they can.

"I just don't know if I deserve life after i killed my brother" Lan said as he snuggled against Kane. He softly shifted to his cat form. "Please.....for now just treat me like im your pet......" he meowed softly.

Petting Lan's back, Kane said, "Of course you do. It was an accident." Kane sighed. "Lan, sometimes I just don't know what wer'er going to do. Half of the time you say you love me, and thenI make you cry. I don't want to make you sad." Kane was worried about wether they could really be together forever.

"It's just we keep bringing up painful things in each other's pasts. Once it's out of the way, we don't have to cry" Lan said as he stopped crying and he nuzzled against Kane. "Please don't talk like that anymore......You make it sound like you are breaking up with me"

Kane nearly cried. "Lan, I hope that never happens." He held Lan even closer and snuggled against his shoulder. "I guess you're right, though. That makes me feel better." Kane thought about the ram's horns again and felt that he was still missing something. "Lan, while we're at it, I want to tell you something." Turning his face away, he said quietly, "I've killed before too."

Kane tried to think of how to tell Lan. "Well, you know what's happened to me. One time I just...he snuck up on me, and I got scared. I...he...hit his head and...I couldn't. I just couldn't do anything." Kane was fighting hard to keep the tears back. He did not want to cry. He did not want to upset himself or Lan again. But he had been strong for so long. He wanted to be weak, if only when he was with Lan.
