I saw them on Fuse and sparked an interest in them, but couldn't do much about it because, well, in the few minutes I saw the band's name was not shown, and I had to head off somehwere, plus my parents didn't much like them. A few weeks later, my best friend called and said she had just gotten this new CD, it was Life on the Murder Scene, and we watched the Making of the Ghost of You by My Chemical Romance. Ever since, I've been hooked ad I've brought several of my friends to come to love the band as well.

heh, i saw some music video of theirs (forgot which... i think it was vampires) and asked my friend who they were, cause i had the song stuck in my head all day. i looked them up, bought the cd, got obsessed. XD

i can't even remember when i first heard of them or their songs XD
i think it must be on myspace though, coz my friend gave me a link to this profile on myspace to listen to these songs, but i really can't remember how i got into MCR's music. i really want to know how it happened xd

It was a summer a few years back. Me and my friends were jumping around my living room to music videos, and the old school version of "I'm not okay" came on. I stopped, and watched. Fell in love. Went out and bought the CD, found out there was one before that one, bought that too. Instant love. ninja

I was at Target when I saw Helena on in the TV section.
And I hated it. xd
But then I saw it again at my friends house and I was like 'Hey....It's not too bad....I guess.........The lead singer is pretty cute. I suppose.'
Then we watched I'm Not Okay, which made me bust up laughing.
So a few weeks later, my friend Grant (Who looks alot like Bob) has a copy of TCFSW. And I listen to it, and I liked it.
So then I got a MCR poster, shirt, and YBMYBIBYML for christmas.
........That's a really long abreviation!
And then I got LOTMS for my birthday,
and TBP for.....just because.

I was at camp back in, what was it, 2004? Anyways, there were this bunch of kids singing Helena, and I was like "I have no idea what this song is, or what it even sounds like, but it sounds a bit cool." And that had nothing to do with a bunch of 14 year old really hot boys wearing the T-shirts. None at all.

And when I got home, I got ahold of Three Cheers, and Ive been addicted ever since.

I heard of them from a friend. She had the cd..and she didnt like em. So I stole the cd from her. And it was like love at first sight. I couldnt turn the cd off it was quite funny.
Then what really got me into them was when I saw then in concert last year on Dec.3rd. I was like in heaven there. I mean my all time favourite band standing only metres away from me. It was very awesome. But then a couple days after that I lost my friend. (as in shes dead)
I could only listen to My Chemical Romance. It made me feel alot better. I missed her and I was so upset that she died. But now...from Listening to mcr. I have gotten over it and moved on in my life.
Thats...both how I heard of them and why I listen to them.

I was up around 2 am watching VH1's making the video for "I'm not ok (I Promise)" and had the song stuck in my head for days. I went to our music store, bought TCFSR and Their first cd. ♥♥♥♥ I owe everything to VH1.

I heard them cause of my cousin who was watching the top ten on on demand so I watch with her and My cemical romance was number four I watched It was awsome it was the song Helena 3nodding

Well I was hearing the radio on the yahoo IM and the song Helena came on. I was like omg awesomeness!!! So I went and found their vids and I started to like them. So my friend let me borrow her CD, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, and I loved them. Now I'm obsessed with them and I love their new CD ^_^

haha i love this topic! it's so intresting to read other people's discoveries lol.
well anyway,
i heard MCR when my friend was burning a list of songs for my other friend and the song was Vampires will never hurt you.
my dad heard a vampire song on our local alternative radio station so i thought that might be it and downloaded it for him. then i listened to to OVER and OVER on the long bus rides to and from school.
There was so much emotion in gerard's voice and this was before i saw any of them. i would listen so close and if i got distracted, i had to start it again. Eventually i moved on and then a long time later i got my mac laptop (that i'm using now) and one of the first music video's i got off itunes was helena because the pic of gerard was scary to me at the time so it looked cool.
and i was hooked.
i watched it again and again (i love film and making movies) the art direction was flawless and i had never really been introduced to that side of music that deals with life and death and real things. I just went along with the trends. My freinds and parents were like "he's so white" lol. and i didn't care. it was BEAUTIFUL. DIFFERENT. INSPIRING. and i felt it. i bonded with it. from then on i fell in love with Gerard lol and his voice and the music. Then came the album and the 1st album (when i realized the vampire song was by them *shock*), fell in love with Frank, mikey, ray, and bob and the rest is history...

Funny story, actually.
I always had the impression that MCR was this overrated teenie emo-band from New Jersey. But I thought that I couldn't actually judge the band without having listened to it. So I got 'The Ghost of You' from a friend of mine, and I liked it. No, I loved it. After that, I was officially a MCR Junkie.
