On that topic, in the paper yesterday (can't remember which, read about six of them) there was a story of some chavs killing someone because they didn't have a lighter.

Now that's funny.

Things like this are very rare. Muggings ending in death are very rare indeed. A pensioner being attacked is ridiculously uncommon. The elderly are the group in society least likely to be victims of violent crime, but when it does happen the media (understandably) shows outrage and people assume it's a common thing.
