Anyways, so I got the new Halo Encyclopedia book, and besides the point I'm waiting for my new lab top to be set up so that I can play WoW again, and go back to roleplaying on there. I also hope said labtop will let me play Empire Total War, so that I may challenge Mac to battle.

So do you think I would be able to play Empire: Total War with with a 08 or 09 Dell Laptop, with a good graphic card?

I paid €800 ($1,146.96 / £709.75) for a good, solid top of the line laptop from Asus, complete with Windows 7 and all those other fancy things you kids get hard-ons over these days.
