Gikishou smiled some as they entered the egyptian exhibit. Everything looked amazing to him. "Woah... neat..."He said, looking around with interest.

Kyo stopped right in front of a painting with a guard and a slave. He knew there was a story behind the painting, but he just couldn't remember what it was. All he could remember was that the guard had been very feared person, but he was kind to a lowly slave. The story was so interesting that Kyo felt guilty forgetting it.

Gikishou looked at it as well and blinked in surprise. "Hey... I think I know this one... when my friends made a bet that I couldn't pay attention in class for even a day, but I did. It was about how the slave was ridiculed for being weak, different, and of low class... but the guard took care of him." He said, smiling some.

"There was something else in the story, right?" Kyo asked, still looking at the painting. "I think something bad happened to the slave one day? I just don't remember what the guard did." He thought about the story, and he couldn't help but imagine himself being the slave and Giki-sna being the guard. There seemed to be a connection between them and the story.

Gikishou nodded sadly. "Someone dragged the slave down to a torture chamber and whipped him for no reason, beating him within an inch of his life. When the guard found him, he nursed him back to health, but the slave always had those scars. I always hated that part of the story."

"I hated that part, too," Kyo said. "So, what happened after that? I think love was involved, since the slave and the guard in this painting looked so happy." Indeed, the people in the painting did look happy as if they were in love, but homosexuality was forbidden in Ancient Egypt, right?

"They did fall in love, but they had to keep it a secret. Society would have killed them both. So, The guard took on a wife, to hide his sexual preference, and had children. He still took care of the slave, though, and never stopped loving him." That had been the end of the story.

"At least the story had a happy end to it," Kyo said, still looking at the painting. "Did the wife and kids know about the guard's affair? If they knew, the probably were understanding about it or something."

"The story never said. Some think they knew, and some think they didn't. I never really picked between either one." He said, smiling at him. "At least now there isn't a death penalty homosexuality." He said, looking at the painting.
((actually, Uganda recently made a death penalty for homosexuality. It sucks.))

(I wonder why people are so afraid of homosexual people. They're people like us, right?)
"Well, that's kinda nice to hear," Kyo said. He then walked over to another painting that had a pharaoh and a queen staring at a sunset. It was one of those romantic paintings that he found interesting. Was there a story behind this painting, too? If there was, he didn't remember that either.

((yup, but people get upset when people who have the same body parts are put together. No idea why.))
Gikishou looked at it with a smile. "I don't know about this one, though. It looks nice though." He said, looking down at him.

"Well, I don't think there's a story behind this one, but it looks romantic. It kinda reminds me of us watching the sunset yesterday," Kyo said. He continued to look at the painting for a while and then it seemed to morph into a familiar image.

Gikishou smiled a little more. "All it needs is fireflies." He said, looking at it. "I wonder how long it took to make it." He thought aloud, looking a little closer.

"Maybe it took quite a while," Kyo said. "Maybe years if you look at the detail. Sometimes paintings like this would take years to create and perfect." He looked up at Giki-san, as if he wanted to talk, but all he could do was stare.

Gikishou looked at him and blinked."Is there something on my face?" He asked, noticing how the other was staring. He hoped it wasn't anything embarrassing.
