"Yes, they got in trouble." Demitri nodded quietly, the scenes of that fateful day flying past her eyes in a brief moment. Dustynn had been screaming and kicking for the longest time as his dad tried to pin him down on the floor. His mother even got involved and held him in his place. Demitri did nothing but watch. Soon, the screaming turned into painful and agonizing cries, and after an hour, soft sobs. Thirty minutes after that, the room was completely silent as their parents walked out of the room. "But Dustynn definitely got it worse."

"You don't have to say anymore if you don't want to," Somuka said, thinking that the subject was already making Demitri uncomfortable. She hadn't meant to pry into someone else's past. She had only asked a yes or no question. She hadn't expected to be hearing that Dustynn had been punished more.

As Olan listened, he tried not to imagine what had happened. It seemed that Dustynn and his sister had gone through a lot. In fact, probably even more than he himself had to deal with. Alienation and hatred was all he had to live with, along with the occasional assassination attempts, so it was probably nothing compared to what Dustynn had to live with.

"Telling stories again?" Dustynn muttered from the doorway. After soothing Marissa's worry over the younger boy, Kaisin began to tell the slow story about how one of the other groups had decided to wage war because the clean-up committee had been caught dumping Lorin's ashes in their territory. Dustynn had to come up with a plan at some point.

"No, it's nothing." Demitri sighed, sending the memories of the earlier conversation flying through her brother's head. She saw him wince once, and she could only understand. He had done nothing but protect her, and she had been helpless as she watched him take the heat for it.

Now bored of the conversation, Olan walked to the door and peeked through it. Since there was nothing to do except listen to things, he might as well listen to whatever was going on outside the room. Maybe he would be able to join the group if Dustynn allowed it. There was a high chance that the gang leader would just tell him to go back to the room. Nobody would want their weaknesses exposed to danger.

Walking out of the room, Olan sat next to Dustynn, and very closely. He hoped to be ignored by the rest of the gang, but that wasn't his call. If the others wanted to stare at him, there was no way he would be able to stop them. He could only hide behind Dustynn to avoid the stares if he needed to.

Michael turned to stare at the new comer, his amber eyes glistening as he looked at the white-haired boy. Seriously, this was Dustynn's boyfriend? The kid was most definitely weird alright. Hadn't said a word yet, and is literally clinging to the Boss. Geez, that kid's got issues. What's his name again? Olan? Weird name, too.

Marissa smiled as Olan sat down next to Dustynn. "Why hello! Are things going okay?" Marissa asked kindly, punching Dylan in the arm as the new member nodded in acknowledgment, a small smile on his lips.

Olan smiled and nodded a little, trying to ignore the stare he was getting from the amber-eyed person. It seems like it was a bad idea to get out of the room, after all, but he didn't want to listen to what the spirits were chatting about and he couldn't sleep anyway. Besides not having anything else to do or listen to, Olan strangely wanted to be near the gang leader.

Dustynn noticed that Michael was glaring at Olan, but he made no move to stop him. Why? It would make no difference, especially since Michael was not yet an official member of the gang. He was just a coordinator from another gang sent to theirs to do some work and to keep in touch with his gang as well as the others. It made no sense why he was here, but in order to keep gang-peace, it was made this way.

"Olan, go upstairs." Dustynn muttered to the kid that everybody called Olan. Michael knew what the leader was thinking. He's in a dangerous spot. Michael's staring at him. We're talking about something he shouldn't hear. He has to go back upstairs. Michael nodded to himself. Yep, that's why.

Not wanting to anger Dustynn again, Olan stood up and hurried away to the upper floor. Instead of going back to the room, however, he stayed near the steps to listen to whatever else was going on. Dustynn had never said to go back to the room anyway, so it should be okay to still stay nearby. As long as he didn't interrupt, that is.

Olan was glad to be away, having been aware that someone downstairs didn't seem to like him there. That glare had been a look of annoyance at least. The person probably thought Olan was nothing but a pest, according to that glare, but it wasn't like Olan could tell for sure. He couldn't read minds, so he couldn't assume.

"Michael, quit glaring at him." Dustynn hissed under his breath. Why could the other gang have sent a more amiable member? Michael just turned to glare at the gang leader, then turned away. Marissa gave both boys a sad look before leaning her head on Dylan's shoulder. After a moment of awkward silence, Kaisin cleared his throat.

"I'd say... we should use Michael to try and communicate with their liaison. I mean, that's what he's here for, right?" Kaisin asked, motioning toward the amber-eyed man. Michael glared, but Dustynn nodded his head.

"It makes sense." He said. Marissa nodded her head, and Dylan just smiled. Things may work out better this way. "Michael, be a liaison and go do your job." Dustynn ordered. But Michael didn't move.

'Maybe it was a bad idea to come to the living room after all,' Olan thought, mostly to himself and partly to Dustynn. He wasn't sure if the gang leader's eyes were cloudy at that moment, but he hoped for a response. He didn't really expect the gang leader to hear his thoughts, since that may interfere with whatever business he was discussing downstairs.

He was sure... absolutely sure, that the person glaring at him definitely didn't like his presence. Was Olan being some kind of pest to Dustynn? He hoped not, because he didn't want to be a burden to the gang leader. He didn't have much hope, since the Demon was still after him and was probably watching the place at this moment just to wait for a perfect time to strike.

It must have been troublesome for Dustynn to know this and still be willing to protect Olan. As confusing as it still seemed to the so-called cursed boy, he had to accept that Dustynn did have feelings for him. The very thought of that made him blush a little. He had never really thought of the possibility of anyone ever having feelings for him. This was actually the first case.

"C'mon Michael. The sooner we get this over with, the better!" Marissa said quietly. Dylan nodded his head, but didn't say anything. Dylan was a mute, just like Olan. But Dylan could use sign-language, and right now, he was telling Michael that it was for the better. But still, Michael didn't move.

"This is insane. You expect me to honestly follow directions from somebody who isn't even old enough to lead a gang yet?" Michael hissed, jabbing an accusing finger at Dustynn. "I mean, seriously. I wouldn't be here if I had a choice." The man growled.

"Well, you don't have a choice. You're a liaison here, and your job is to communicate with the liaison of the gang that wants to kill us. Do your job, or we may just have you join Lorin in the campfire." Kaisin growled back, standing up to defend his leader. Finally, Dustynn sighed and stood up, putting Kaisin back in his seat.

"You may leave, Michael. Just to know, though. Once you leave, you are no longer allowed back in and you are not under our guard of the guard of your gang until you get back into their territory. And that is... Oh, I don't know... almost half-way across the city." Dustynn muttered, pointing towards the door. "Leave if you want." Michael growled, but finally got up and moved towards the telephone and computer. This brought a smile to gang leader's face. And now, the show may begin.

Olan peeked from where he was near the stairs and watched what was going on in the living room. In contrast to the darkness of the hallway, he probably stuck out like a sore thumb. Hopefully, nobody's attention would be focused on him. His mind then recalled the words that Dustynn had told him back in the room.

'Of course,' Olan thought to himself, 'I'm Dustynn's weakness, so he probably wants me to go back to the room.' Deciding it was best to be safe than sorry, he withdrew from where he was and walked back to the room.

Dustynn smirked slightly, getting more comfortable in the chair. "Boss, how can you get comfortable now of all times? If Michael doesn't succeed, then what? We're at a gang war!" Marissa said, standing up and pointing toward the working liaison. Dylan nodded as well.

"We have some time. Just relax and be patient." Dustynn muttered quietly, closing his eyes. He saw Olan on the staircase, then the falsh of white disappear. The boy was becoming more and more intelligent by the second. More and more street smart. But now, even Olan wasn't allowed to leave the room anymore. Demitri... keep Olan inside. Dustynn whispered under his breath toward his sister, who was inside of his room playing cards with Somuka.
PostPosted: Sat May 08, 2010 4:51 pm

Olan soon entered the room, closing and locking it, and then he once again sat next to Somuka, who seemed to be expecting him. He was sure that Dustynn had seen him, and he wondered what had been going on in the gang leader's mind. Had he been annoyed? Or was he was he satisfied at one point?

"Ola-chan, did you enjoy your time outside?" Somuka asked, giving him a false grin. She had sensed his discomfort a little while ago, and she wanted to make sure nothing was amiss. If there was anything or anyone that bothered him, then she would try to do something about it if she could.

Olan nodded slightly, and then he shook his head a little. 'Somewhat, but mostly no,' he thought to her. 'Nothing really happened, but I think I wasn't supposed to leave this room at this time.' His life was full of bad luck and bad ideas, but what can he do about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Demitri sighed, dealing the cards again. Her mind was completely blank, utterly silent. Then the voice came like a huge wave in the calm, literally sending her falling over backwards. "I'm okay!" Demitri said loudly, sitting back up straight again. Dustynn's voice had scared her completely out of her wits. Keep Olan inside? What on earth could be going on downstairs?

Dustynn was just about to fall asleep when Marissa shook him back awake. The liaison efforts didn't work out too well. The gang leader from the other side was demanding to speak with Dustynn... in person. "I guess it can't be helped." The young leader sighed lethargically. "Kaisin! We're going. Marissa, bring Dylan. Michael, you're coming too." Dustynn ordered, walking up to his room to change. He wasn't going to a gang meeting dressed casually.
