*drinks the last drop of her drink* So how is everyone else doing?
And asll this is because her parents are completely frightened of everything a Wedding represents to my culture, as compared to hers. For hers, it absolutely has to be calm, quiet, and short. All White, simple dress, the reception you have to be calm, stand in your recieving line(we nixed that immediately...I'm not standing still in a line for three hours straight...I'm ADD, it is theorhetically impossible). It also absolutely must be in the cultural hall of a Mormon Church. By tradition, it was supposed to be in the Temple, but only Mormons are allowed in, and I'm not about to join the LDS Church just so I can get sealed to it for "Time and all Eternity".
Then there's mine. Mormonism sees a wedding as a ceremony for the guests. Adventists see it as a celebration for the couple. Allow me to Emphasise. Celebration for teh couple. The colors for teh Adventist Ceremony are Black and Red, the reception is going to involve a full meal, Dancing, Music, and will probably last the entire day. No recieving line, if it's important enough, they can come to our table while we talk and eat and give congrats.
And, due to all teh stress that my fiancees parents are putting her through, she's almost considering leaving teh Church. Any guesses who will be blamed for that? xp
