TeaDidikai patch99329 Summerstar looks killer. Damn things that are thousands of miles away in other continents xD Heh... I think you need an extended vacation in the states Patch. Hehe, I agree. I love america. Despite all the stereotypes about the place, when I was in florida; people were amazing compared to the dull bastards over here. People were even...patriotic!! (Thats unheard of here). I was in the heart of the 'bible belt' to boot. In the future, when I have qualifications and financial stability, I really want to go and live over there. -- Very sorry to hear about your grandfather *hugs*. However, I wish you luck in your business ventures ^_^ heart

But the selfish part of me really wants my Nana and Grumps to live forever.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother working retail with all the pain in the a** customers I get. Just yesterday, I had one who puts all the people who cant spend an extra 50 cents on a card (and procede to buy 20 dollars of other stuff) to shame. He complained about some dirt on a quarter I gave him, and asked me for another one. I didn't have any change on me, so I said that I couldnt open my register (which is true). He didnt believe me, so I had to explain it a few times. I told him I'd need to have my manager open up my register, and said ok and proceeded to wait while I go find my manager and explain in person why she needed to open my register.
All this over 25 ******** cents. stressed

Ever thought of a back room or stock job? Little to no customer interaction. It's marvelous.

I hate working register, but my manager saw me doing recovery when I was very tired, and as such, worked slowly, and looked out of it. Since then I always work on the register. The way she was joking about it the next day, I think she thought I was stoned or something.

patch99329 Fiddlers Green Hallo dears, how were everyone's holiday festivities? surprised Uhm...is 'fattening' a valid anser? sweatdrop Oh, be of good cheer about it! Scrumdeliumpsous, and bountiful could be used, rather than just the effect it may temporarily impose upon which belt loop you use. wink Oh, and I saw your comment about the U.S. We do have patriotism, but beware, as it often becomes jingoism when paired with ignorance... which is epidemic. But I did notice, in my travels, that few nations are as proud of themselves, or rather, seem as proud of themselves... I wonder how much of that is a desire not to anger neighbors who might have old feuds based off that pride...?

I'd say it's because of the way america is formed compared to other places. In america, regardless of race, colour or religion. You're an american still.
In Britain, for example; so much emphasis is put on 'multicultural society' (in my opinion), we stop all becoming 'british' and start becoming 'X' and 'Y'. Thus, there is an immediate divide and a sense of not belonging.
America is also fairly new. It comes complete with a dream and everything. xd
Other places don't have that. Britian has no story xD We're all miserable buggers (*cough* well I am...)

patch99329 I'd say it's because of the way america is formed compared to other places. In america, regardless of race, colour or religion. You're an american still. In theorey at least. There are places this principle is not implemented, but I consider those places to be populated by large quantities of poo-poo-heads, and (True Scotsman fallacy coming up) consider them un-American, in ideal. Quote: In Britain, for example; so much emphasis is put on 'multicultural society' (in my opinion), we stop all becoming 'british' and start becoming 'X' and 'Y'. Thus, there is an immediate divide and a sense of not belonging. Well, there was an era where being a hyphenated American was grounds for detention... so that tended to fall out of use in some areas... Quote: America is also fairly new. It comes complete with a dream and everything. xd That is true, but we are also, as a nation, rushing to find our footing... And that dream is regularly endangered. Quote: Other places don't have that. Britian has no story xD We're all miserable buggers (*cough* well I am...) You have Millenia of Mytho-history (and regular history) to call upon. Surely you can be proud of some of that? wink I'm glad you are feeling better Nuri, even if finances are tight. 3nodding
