*When Tes continues not to respond to him, he starts to worry, especially when his breathing becomes labored.* Guuan. Guuan, Quortek...
*Ryzan shakes him to try to get him to wake, but he remains in the same state.* Guuan! Guuan! *He shakes him more forcefully* Guuan, Quortek!

*The grassy terrain gives way to hard desolate stone, letting him know that Neriak is close. Soon, he catches view of torches in the distance which line the entrance of his home city. When he sees the guards standing on either side of the entrance , he looks down at Ryzan, remembering that when he had stabbed himself, people were so quick to blame him even after Ryzan admitted it was self-inflicted. If he were to be seen carrying a lifeless Ryzan, they'd be more likely to leave him that way for use as evidence rather than resurrect him. Cursing inwardly, he ducks behind a large boulder several feet away, off to the side and out of view of the guards. Carefully, he sets Ryzan down and pets his still soaking wet hair* "It'll be okay, R'zn. I'm going to find you a cleric. I'll be right back."
*He kisses the top of Ryzan's head then stands, taking a deep breath before rushing past the guards into the city. He navigates his way through the Foreign Quarter and the Commons until he reaches the Third Gate. There, in the middle of the cavern surrounded by water, immediately viewable from the entrance to the Third Gate district, was the temple for the Priests of Innoruuk. He ran around the path along the edge of the cavern to the opposite side where the temple's entrance was, crossing the bridge to get into it. He starts to look in each room, saying he is in need of a cleric. Many roll their eyes at him and continue about their business, so he moves on to the next. Before long, he is approached by a high priestess*
"Please... I need a..." *The priestess shakes her head at him, waving him off* "We are not mercenaries, rogue." *She looks at him with disgust, practically spitting out the word "rogue".* "If you are neither here to train as a cleric or pay your respects to our Dark Father, then I ask that you stop pestering the clergy and leave. We are not here simply to undo whatever idiotic mistakes I am sure you have committed. rolleyes stare " *Narrowing his eyes, he tries to walk past her without answering, but she blocks his path.* "The exit is the other way, rogue." ".... I want to speak with Sivlaii..." *The priestess lets out a mocking laugh and steps aside.* "You know she doesn't want to see you rolleyes " "I don't care..." *She shakes her head and motions toward the stairway* "Well, you know where she is."
*Both relieved and annoyed Sivlaii would still be exactly where she always was after all this time, he walks past the priestess and up the stairs to the balcony. Over by one of the built-in waterfalls cascading off the sides of the temple was a dark elf woman with long white hair done into a simple bun, wearing silvery plate armor and a sword strapped on her back. She was kneeling, likely in prayer, holding a picture of Innoruuk. Groaning inwardly, he approaches her.* "Quortek.... somehow I knew it was you down there, shouting like a buffoon. You know damn well that I'm not a cleric, so begone!" *He keeps some distance between them as he speaks, trying to avoid provoking her too severely* "You've been spending practically every day here for the past few centuries. Surely you've got to know someone who can help me." *Sivlaii turns her head just slightly, enough for Tes to see a smirk* "Of course. But why in the name of Innoruuk would I ever help you?" "It... it's R'zn..."
*The woman scoffs, touching the picture of Innoruuk to her head before setting it down and standing* "I told that boy to stay away from you." *She turns to him and puts a hand on her hip* "What did you do to him this time? stare " *Tes looks off to the side* "... he drowned himself in the river..." "mmhmm. Just like he impaled himself with your dagger? rolleyes " *Tes flinches, but tries to let it go* "... can you please just help?" *Sivlaii sighs and turns her back to him, gazing down at the picture of Innoruuk* "For R'zn... I shall say a prayer for him so that he may, in his next life, not be corrupted by the likes of you." "I'ssuri, qualla..."
*Sivlaii draws her sword and spins around to face Tes, holding the tip of the blade to his neck and scowling* "I. Have. No. Children. If you keep insisting otherwise, I will have to insist I liberate that head from your shoulders. Do I make myself clear?" *Tes stares back at her coldly and swallows hard, backing away and heading down the stairs without a word*

*Returning to Nektulos Forest without a cleric, he feels a bit dejected. Going back to Ryzan, he notices his complexion has become more pale, and when he touches him, he finds that his skin has already grown cold.* "I'm not giving up on you yet, Ry." *Taking Ryzan up in his arms once again, he heads back into the wooded area of the forest toward the river, more in the direction downstream than they originally were. However, instead of going all the way to the river, he keeps walking around the forest area until he finds what he's looking for. Soon he comes across a statue of an open book on a pedestal: The Book of Knowledge.*
*Since only living beings could pass through the portal created by touching this statue, he was going to have to leave Ryzan behind again. Though he doesn't like the idea, he doesn't have a choice. He carefully sets him down nearby and strokes his cheek* "I'll be right back, Ry. I'm definitely going to get you a cleric." *Standing back up, he walks over to the book and places his hand on it. Immediately his surroundings fade away and are replaced by new ones. Instead of being amongst trees, he now finds himself in a place with stone pathways and buildings. The immediate area looks barren with withered trees while various statues line the walls which sections off this area, the "evil side", from other areas in the Plane of Knowledge.*
*He stands there somewhat dazed for a moment from traveling through the portal, but he recovers soon enough and heads past the buildings and through the wall's archway into the main area of the Plane, where merchant buildings and banks lurk just outside the sections where the portals have been constructed, and right in the middle is a massive library. He first thinks his best bet would be to check the main bank, toward the "good" side. While cutting across the grass to get to it faster, he asks a few people coming from that direction if they know of any clerics around the area. Some just continue on like he wasn't there, but as he gets closer to the bank, there are a couple of people who stop to answer him. One of them laughs slightly.*
"Well, there is one around here..." "I wouldn't depend on getting anything good from her, though." "Yeah... she's pretty gimp." "I see..." "If you want to try anyway, she's over by the fishing pond casting n00b buffs. rolleyes " "And scarfing dark chocolate cremes like there's no tomorrow." *At the mention of dark chocolate cremes, Tes' eyes widen and he shoulders past the two, almost knocking them over as he dashes toward the pond*

I didn't think she still came here. *As he approaches the area, he passes by someone grumbling about this "useless cleric" and a woman's voice shouting after him.* "At least I've got Aegolism! You don't see many clerics with -that- now, do ya!? I've even got the Ancient version!" *Getting closer, he slows his pace so he won't be too out of breath when he reaches her to ask what he needs to.*
*After passing under one of the overhangs along the pathway that leads into the almost enclosed shop area where the man-made fishing pond resides, he gets a clear view of the cleric, who is sitting on a brown horse in front of the pond... much to the dismay of those trying to fish. She's a high elven woman with long blonde hair tied up in a pony tail, clad in an outfit of black and a dark bluish-green. When he walks up to her, she's at first too preoccupied scraping up the last of a dark chocolate creme to notice him, swinging her legs idly as she does so. The distinct smell of vanilla emanates from her.* "Miro..." "Miro? Miro is Miro! 4laugh " *The woman licks the creme from the corner of her mouth and looks around, seeming confused at first that she doesn't see anyone at eye level, causing Tes to facepalm.* You're on a freakin' horse, Mir stressed *Pretty soon, she takes notice of him and her eyes widen with surprise.* "Tes? surprised I thought you left this world! I mean... like left left, not as in you died, because if you did I would have brought you back, unless I didn't know where your corpse was, but I'm sure you would have told me! Hopefully I wouldn't get lost or something. Do you know how dangerous it is out there? gonk There's like... big scary monsters everywhere that want to eat me! gonk crying Why don't you have a shirt on? sweatdrop " "So you -can- still resurrect corpses..." "Of course!" *She smiles proudly* "Miro never forgets a spell! 4laugh ... well... except for... you know... when I don't remember sweatdrop But resurrection is what clerics do! … and heal... and... um... buff or something. And beat on things with dull objects that don't do any harm! mrgreen Battle cleric!" *She grins broadly and gives a thumbs-up while Tes stares at her blankly* ".... please tell me that means you still know how to resurrect..." *Miro nods and starts digging in her saddle bag* "A cleric that can't rez may as well be a druid or a shaman or something. I've even got this nifty water sprinkler I can cast it from and it won't cost me any mana! See?" *She pulls out a flail from her bag that has some sort of effect on it that makes it appear as though water is spouting out each of the spikes* "... that's nice, Mir stare Can we get going now?" "We're going somewhere? Where are we going? Is there pie involved? surprised I like pie 4laugh "*Before he can say anything else, a dwarf approaches and asks Miro for "Gallantry"* "Um... I've got Virtue sweatdrop " *Groaning, Tes pushes past this person, reaches up over the horse, grabs Miro around the waist, and pulls her off* "Hey! Wait a minute! What if that guy wanted some Temperance?" "I asked for Gallantry stressed , and I'm a girl stare " "Not every cleric has Gallantry, you know! gonk Have you ever considered shaving? sweatdrop " *Carrying Miro over his shoulder, he makes his way back to the "evil side" of the Plane, setting her down when he reaches the Nektulos portal* "If you need something, you could have just asked nicely, you know. mad What if someone tries to take my horse?" "No one wants your horse, Mir."*He grabs her wrist and places her hand on the stone statue while simultaneously touching it with his own hand. The Plane of Knowledge fades and becomes Nektulos Forest. Getting over the initial daze, he checks on Ryzan, who looks even worse now than before.* "Mir... I need you to..." *When he turns to speak to Miro, he sees she's still in a daze, absently humming a tune. Facepalming, he groans in frustration* Dammit! stressed I forgot she takes a while to recover from teleporting stressed stare

*After what seems like half an hour, Miro stops humming and looks around* "This place looks different somehow..." "You can do sight seeing later. I need you to resurrect Ryzan." "Ryzan?" *She blinks a few times, gasping when her eyes come across Ryzan's body.* "Eep! He looks pretty bad eek Why didn't you tell me he needed a rez sooner? gonk " *She starts to hitch the sprinkling flail to her belt* "What are you doing? Aren't you going to use that?" *He points at the flail and she shakes her head* "I've got something better. The water sprinkler only does 96% rez... I've got one that does 100%. Can't cast it too often, but since it's for Ryzan..." *She holds her arms out in front of her and closes her eyes. A whitish-blue glow surrounds her hands, and after making a waving motion, the glow transfers to Ryzan's body before slowly fading.*
"That's it. ^_^ " "You're a lifesaver, Mir." "I'm a cleric. It's what I do mrgreen " *Tes kneels down next to Ryzan to check on him again.* Come on Ry.... *Ryzan remains lifeless, his skin still cold and paling.* ".... it doesn't usually take this long, does it?" *Miro shakes her head* "No... it's instant, unless..." *She takes a step back.* "... unless what?" ".... either his soul has already left this world or... he doesn't want to come back..." *Tes grabs Miro's wrist and pulls her back toward him and Ryzan* "And what's that supposed to mean? stressed " "I.. I did everything I could already. gonk He has to accept the resurrection before he returns to his body. You can't just go around rezing people that don't want to live."
*Tes flinches at the last part of that statement, loosening his grip on Miro and turning back to Ryzan* "... what about his soul leaving? That's possible too, right?" "Possible... but... if he knew he would be resurrected soon, then he wouldn't have left. A body can be resurrected up to three hours after death." *Tes instinctively reaches for his pocket watch, only to find he doesn't have it. Although he wouldn't have known the time of death in the first place, he was pretty sure it hadn't been an entire three hours already* "It hasn't." "hm? What hasn't?" "What what?" *She looks at him, puzzled. Tes returns it with a puzzled look of his own.* "You said 'it hasn't' just a moment ago." "Eh? Oh... I was saying it hasn't been three hours since his death. Clerics know these things."
*Tes hangs his head, staring at the ground* "... so he purposefully doesn't want to come back..." *Miro kneels down next to him and places her hand on his shoulder* "I'm sorry. There really isn't anything else I can do. I know he was a good friend of yours..." "He was my husband..." "Yeah, I heard about that. But wasn't that...?" *He takes Ryzan's hand and squeezes it* ".... I loved him, Miro..." "I'm sure you did. It's normal for friends to.... wait eek You mean LOVE love? eek " *The reality of Ryzan being gone for good sinking in again, he struggles to keep the tears at bay as he cuts a glance over to Miro* "I... I didn't mean to offend or anything... I mean... I just..." *He looks down and to the side, petting Ryzan's hand* "... don't worry about it..."

*Having tried several times to wake Tes and finding him still asleep, he debates for a while whether it would be best to stay there to ensure he's around if Tes came out of it on his own or to try to get help. Seeing how distraught he is, he thinks getting help may be best.* It will be alright, Quortek. I will return shortly. Do not worry.
*He gives Tes a tight hug before exiting their quarters. For a brief moment, he stands in the corridor, unsure where he would find someone who could help, but then remembers that Lady Leko has a vast knowledge in the area of curses. Though he knows it is unlikely she will release the curse if it is her doing to begin with, he hopes that maybe she can at least make it less distressing for him... if not her, then perhaps Lady Ayami would.
Walking up to the door to their quarters he knocks somewhat harder than he normally would* Jallil. I am sorry for disturbing you, jhal... there seems to be something severely wrong with Quortek...

*They sit there quietly for a moment. He hopes that she'll just get up and leave him alone, but doesn't want to say anything after having dragged her here. After a while, she removes her hand from his shoulder and he feels relieved, thinking that means she'll go now. However, she instead wraps her arms around him, embracing him from behind with her head against his back. He stiffens up, starting to feel really uncomfortable.* "How did he die?" "... why do you ask?" "He was my friend too, Tes. I want to know..." *He hesitates at first, but eventually clears his throat, hanging his head lower before answering.* "... he drowned himself..." "What?! Why? Why would he do that?" *Tes hisses slightly* "... because of me." *He tries to shrug her off, but instead of letting go of him, she hugs him more tightly* "Tell me more." "... I really don't want to talk about this right now, Mir..." "It's important." "It can wait stressed "
*He holds his head in his hands and begins the tremble* "... he always did love you, Tes. He wouldn't want to see you like this..." "Then he shouldn't have ******** killed himself! scream " *No longer caring that she's there, he starts sobbing into his hands* "... this is too much... I..... I can't deal with this... it's too much..." *Miro maintains a hold on him, speaking softly and calmly* "Listen to me, Tes. I need you to think about how this could have happened..." "I already told you stressed " "It's not enough. I know this is difficult for you right now, but I need you to talk to me." *He scoffs* "I just lost my husband and you need -me- to talk to -you-? stare " *She moves her head from his back to rest her chin on his shoulder, speaking to him soothingly. Somehow, her voice begins to remind him of Ayami.* "Believe me when I tell you that this is important. Explain to me what happened. What were you two doing here?"
*He sniffs and tries to compose himself enough to speak clearly. Wiping his eyes, he takes a few deep breaths and tries to answer* "He... well.. back on Gaia, something happened and... I... it's hard to remember everything..." "It's okay. Just tell me what you know." "I was turned to some rabbit-like creature somehow and... I had a pet clone kind of like it beforehand... please don't ask..." "Go on. It's okay." *He wipes his eyes again and sniffs* "Draa... he... that's the clone... he was also turned into a dark elf I guess around the same time or something and he pretty much took over my life." *He lets out a small, bitter laugh* "They even started calling me 'Draa Draa' stare " "Is 'Draa' a dark elf name?" "... it's more like a word... or rather, a number. It's stupid stare " "Which number is it?" "What does it matter? stressed " "shhhh... just calm down..."
*Tes closes his eyes and breathes deeply* "So this condition... switching places like that... one could say it was like a curse, correct?" "... I guess..." "What do you know about curses?" " stressed This has nothing to do with..." "Just tell me." "...I really don't think I can deal with this right now, Mir..." "That's why it's so important." "You're not making any sense stressed " *She lays her head on his shoulder and rubs his stomach. He tenses up again and tries to push her off* "Get away from me!" "shhhh... calm down... it's okay..." *She crosses her arms over his chest, giving him a vague warm feeling all over somehow.*

*Knocking again on the door to the Ladies' quarters, he starts to feel anxious. He quickly jots down a note for them and leaves it tucked into crack of the door, then heads back to his quarters and into the bedroom.
As he sits down on the bed next to Tes, he places his hand on his chest and rubs slowly, hoping it will somehow calm him* Qualla... qualla guuan...Ryzan's note to Ayami and Leko Jallil, I am worried about Quortek. He has been sleeping for almost 24 hours now and I cannot wake him. I thought he was just tired at first, rilu'oh I checked on him recently because he was screaming in his sleep and has since looked incredibly distressed. He even seemed to be having troubles breathing. I do not know what to do for him. I have returned to my quarters to watch over him. I will leave the door open. "What else has happened?" "I... I don't know... my memory is all jumbled... some things just don't fit together..." "Like what?" "A lot of things..." "Tell me some specific things." "Mir..." "I know it's difficult. Just try to think about it, okay?" "I... for some reason I remember my hair being pink... and people back at MW... um... that's a bar on Gaia.... I remember them being concerned about me for some reason, which hasn't happened since Draa replaced me..." "Why were they concerned?" "I.. I don't know... I think... I was having bad dreams..." "Do you remember why?" *His brow furrows in confusion* "... it was a curse..." "And what do you know about curses?" *He rubs his forehead, frustrated at the constant questions.* "I barely know anything stressed " "But you do know some things..." "That they're hard to get rid of stare "
"How do you get rid of curses?" "tch... you're a cleric. You should know stare " "Yes. Either you have it cured by a spell or perform the curse breaker." "Why are you so focused on this? What about Ryzan? Or have you forgotten already? stressed " "Ryzan doesn't want to see you suffer." "He's not going to be seeing anything anymore..." "That's not true. He's watching over you right now." *Tes holds his hand over his eyes* "Then why the hell won't he come back?" *Miro sighs, an undertone of frustration behind it.* "Why did he drown himself?" *He winces* "Miro!" "I want to know." "He said 'it would be best for the both of us'. Bullshit it is... " "Why would he have said that?" "He said he couldn't bear seeing me like that and that this would give me my life back. Like I can have much of a life if I'm going to just end up turning back into a prunny without him." "Unless you break the curse..."
"What would be the point in that? He still wouldn't be here so it doesn't even matter whether I'm a dark elf or a prunny. I can't be with him either way." "Would you stop feeling sorry for yourself already!? mad " "Well, excuse me if my husband just killed himself! scream " "If you'd stop being so stubborn and mopy, you'd see that I'm trying to fix that." "By bombarding me with pointless questions? stressed " "They're not pointless!" *Miro hugs him more tightly, returning to a calmer voice* "They're not pointless. There's significance in all of it and I'm trying to get you to see that. Ryzan thought what he did would give you your life back. He also couldn't stand seeing you stuck in your situation. As things stand, neither have been accomplished. However, if you were to break the curse..." "... he wouldn't have to see me as a prunny and I'd have my life back... but... he said it was to 'set me free'... to 'do what I please and love whom I please' or something like that..." "And what is it that you want to do? Whom do you wish to love?"
"... I... I just want to be with R'zn..."

*He looks over at Ryzan's face, then quickly looks away... his diminishing condition being difficult to witness. Rethinking bits of his conversation with Miro, he suddenly lifts his head... his eyes widening when something finally occurs to him* "Wait... so if I were to break this curse, he would come back?" "You'd be together again ^_^ And this 'Draa' couldn't come between you." "Two." "Pardon?" "'Draa' is the number two in my language." "So people were calling you 'Two Two'?" "Yes. stare They were calling me..." *eye twitch* "... you've gotta be kidding me..." "What is it?" "Since this started, in what I was just now thinking were dreams, I've been having this strange urge to clad myself in pink, practice ballet, and wear a tutu." "That must be how you break the curse." "But that's just so..." "You can't make the curse breaker something the person would normally do or else it will be broken too quickly. Something out of the ordinary has to be figured out." "So it's been right in front of me this whole time? stressed " "Seems that way sweatdrop " *facepalms*
"Alright, so I need a tutu and I need one now." *He stands and walks over to the Book of Knowledge.* "There's bound to be one in the bazaar or something..." *He places his hand on the book and his surroundings fade away to blackness. Faintly he can hear Ryzan's voice...*

Short Version
Ryzan takes prunny Tes to Nektulos Forrest on Norrath, their home world. After turning Tes into a dark elf, he speaks with him about his relationship with Draa and how he regrets it but doesn't feel like he can be with Tes either in his condition. After some blatantly gratuitous sex, Tes isn't sure if this is really a dream anymore and attempts to figure out how he ended up in this situation, with no avail. He then asks Ryzan about an ambiguous statement he made in their previous conversation. There is some delay, then Ryzan casts a few spells on Tes, making it to where he can't move. While Tes struggles to get free, Ryzan explains that he believes both their troubles will be solved if he commits suicide, then proceeds to the nearby river and drowns himself while Tes can do nothing but watch.
When the spells holding Tes in place wear off, he searches the river and finds Ryzan's lifeless body. He attempts several times to resuscitate him, but it doesn't work. As he sits there grieving, he remembers there are clerics in his world who could resurrect him and immediately takes him to their home city of Neriak. Due to troubles he's had in the past, he leaves Ryzan's body just outside the city before going in, heading directly for the temple. Upon reaching it, the people there do not take kindly to him asking for a cleric, a high priestess even asking him to leave. Tes then says he wishes to speak with a woman named Sivlaii and he is allowed to stay in order to find her. When he asks this woman for help, she becomes irritated by him and only offers to say a prayer for Ryzan. Tes calls her "mom" after becoming desperate for help beyond prayer and she threatens him, prompting him to leave the city.
Upon returning to Ryzan, he takes him back into the forest to a portal. He leaves Ryzan once again to travel through this portal to the Plane of Knowledge in search for a cleric. There he finds the high elf cleric Miro, who seems to be a bit lacking in the area of spells and possibly in mental faculties as well. Making sure she still has the capability to perform resurrection, he brings her back to Nektulos Forest with him and asks her to resurrect Ryzan. After casting the spell, Ryzan remains dead and Miro explains that he has to accept the resurrection before he comes back to life, indicating that Ryzan does not want to be revived.
Tes mourns once again and Miro begins to ask him questions as to how this happened. Blinded by grief, for a long time he fails to realize how these questions relate to anything. Eventually he starts to get an inkling of how everything Miro was asking fits together and comes to the conclusion that if he were to give in to the urges he'd been having in regards to ballet and tutu wearing, that would solve all of his problems.
