*After a late night at work, he slips in through the back door. The dogs greet him at the door, and he lets them out in their run for awhile. After the dogs complete their business, he calls them back in and locks the door behind them. Heading into the bedroom, he sees that his beloved is already asleep. He recalls their intimacies earlier in the day and he smiles warmly. As he quietly undresses, the dogs lay down on the floor in their usual spots at the foot of the bed.
Slipping under the covers, he carefully slides over and gently brings his body up against hers. As he puts his arm around her, she stirs slightly and takes his hand into hers, hugging their hands together to her chest. He smiles again, gently kisses her shoulder and whispers an 'I love you' into her ear. When he hears her breathe a sigh of relief, he pulls himself closer into the curves of her body and settles his head down into his pillow. It's not long before he falls asleep, holding her in the comfort of his arms.* heart

*back from her meeting, she enters through the back entrance to her place, shedding her gear along the way, idly noting how things were piling up in front of that entrance. Grabbing a bag of chips from the kitchen, she snacks on her way to her bedroom, finding something to sleep in. Climbing into bed, she places the bag on the nightstand and settles down, turning the tv on for some background noise*

*Wakes up, rolls over and sees Officer Dougherty next to her sleeping. She grins, snuggles up next to him and gently kisses his neck and unshaven cheek. heart He stirs a bit and she carefully slips out of bed so he can get some rest.
She takes a shower, gets dressed and heads up to the Main Bar for her morning latte. She grins at Ayami when she sees her.* Good Morning Ayami!

*She goes over to the espresso machine and makes a latte while talking to Ayami.* New York was wonderful. heart My Mother was very congenial which I wasn't expecting. Frankly, she was easier to deal with than she normally is. I can probably thank Brat and Ghost for that one. She gave Officer Dougherty her blessing and I still can't believe how smoothly things went.
California was too long. My brothers showed up because I only told them not to go to New York. They were disappointed William didn't accompany me there and the trip ended up to be part family reunion and part work.
*She takes her latte and has a seat at the bar by Ayami*
