What's nice about working with a much larger picture is that the end {shrunken} result looks more detailed than it really is and it covers up all my minor flaws {such as parts where the coloring doesn't quite meet up with the outline, or the slightly jagged lines from having drawn with the mouse}. It also gives a broader selection of brush sizes to use. The trade off is that some of the finer details that you do end up doing aren't seen quite as well, such as how Icy's eyes came out.
I'll be {hopefully} working on Ayami's inking today and in the meantime, I've put up a new poll for what the next "catch" will be when the thread is eventually opened back up. Exact details of each "catch" will not be given until it's up, so don't bother asking. You can speculate the details based on the words, though.

Tantalizing artsies, Tes. Are you using PS or Gimp or what?
Your new vote options are really hard! Well, some were no brainers, like who in their right minds would want table smashing or foreign words that they have to google? But color splash and bunnies both sound really fun! maybe color splashed bunnies! If it doesn't hurt the bunnies of course....I'm sure the bunnies could pull off glasses and still look adorable, but I'm a little worried about the toast and rocks and still-- I'll admit it, a little intrigued.

I'm using photoshop CS2. Been considering getting the latest version after my new computer is built, but it's a freakin expensive program stressed I've been meaning to give gimp a try, but haven't gotten around to it.
Inking Ayami's picture might take a while because I'm experimenting in using elliptical brushes instead of just round brushes. I think in the end, it'll probably be a combination of round and elliptical that are used.

Why yes, Bandaidd. Yes I do. I have the BEST recipe, but it calls for at least 3 of the critters if they are nice and plump. You know, like TES used to be when he was a grunny and eating all those pastries. It's one of Officer Dougherty's favorite dishes I make for him. wink

After getting over feeling like I'd rather eat a shoe than ink stare ... I've gotten roughly about 80% of Ayami's piece inked. Most of what's left should be relatively easy and I might even get those easier parts done before bed if I can keep at it. However, I've also decided that I'm going to make "custom shapes" for Draa's tattoos, which is going to take some time. It will save time in the future if I want to do another piece with him, Vassnta, or Tauschung though.

Ayami is now inked. And here are all the custom shapes I made for Draa's tattoos. I changed the chest one a little bit so it better matches the ones on his stomach.
