My girlfriend is into her, but I haven't listened to much of her stuff. Still, I'm a bit irked that she uses a term like Victorian-Industrial (not quoting) to describe her music.

This Old Oscillator Her music is really, really bad, and she looks like Jeffree Star. neutral For a second, I thought Jeffrey Star had gotten plastic surgery and changed his name. Then I just realized it was some girl obsessed with bright pink.

She seems talented, but her music hasn't done it for me yet. I like the electronic violin, but I get this feeling that someone out there is doing this style bigger, and better (I want to say, apart from Rasputina, because I enjoy Melora). I enjoy the decomposed look she has, but that's again been done before. She might appeal to a new generation, as an answer to Jack Off Jill?
Her deep voice is kinda grating, I keep on wanting my playlist switch to Dresden Dolls.
If anyone would like to add to my observations or comment on them, please do. I'm willing to give it another listen when my roommate isn't taking up the other half of the room with snoring.

MediaclCunt Anybody else listen to her music? I do. I quite enjoy her, actually, and am looking forward to seeing her in concert in October. mrgreen For anyone who's a fan, she has her own forum now. It's quite a pleasant place, if anyone is interested. 4laugh *gives thread 20 CC's of lifejuice*

I will not be happy until she does a song with Voltaire. Any one else think that it would just be so awesome? But ti would have to be Emilie's style of music. Voltaire could match that, vice versa? not as well.
I don't see the major appearance similarities at all between Emilie Autumn and Jeffree Star. But I really, really, really, reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyREALLY hate Jefree Star's music. He's much too full of himself, and if I had any shred of respect for this new emo-crunk type music I lost it all when hearing him.

I like Emily Autumn sometimes. I admire her as a musician more than I enjoy her music though.

I live in Philly. That's only like an hour and a half.

So after a bit of nudging from my comic geek friend Sherri, I was finally convinced to listen to all her albums(which she owns). I rather liked Enchant. The rest just sounded like pretentious s**t.

I agree. She had a lot of potential, but it just didn't come through. Her violin work on her classical album, recorded at seventeen, is phenomenal.

I agree. She had a lot of potential, but it just didn't come through. Her violin work on her classical album, recorded at seventeen, is phenomenal. The thing that killed it for me was just how great the "Enchant" album was, and how absolutely sincere it sounded(if that makes any sense). After that it just sounded like she was just trying to make herself look like a lunatic for appearance's sake, which to the kiddies is "cool". Not to mention the music after Enchant is absolutely terrible in both composition and content. It just sounds like Ariel, from the Little Mermaid, was trying to rape Nivek Ogre with a metallic violin.
