If Joss Whedon has something to do with it, it is my belief it will live again... at least in the underground culture...

just look at Firefly.

Do any of you guys think star trek will dissapear?

No. TV Land will always at least play TOS, if not someday the others.

Even if there were no other series,
the current ones will continue to rerun for the next century.

All we need is an INTELLIGENT series
(something anti-Berman) and the fans will flock to it.
"If you build it, they will come."
OOH! Here's an idea...

Star Trek: Klingon Empire

Produced by JOSS WHEDON

How could that NOT Rock?!
Awesome... awesome to the max. cool

I was disappointed in Enterprise and not just because the theme song was corny. Too many of the plots focused on Vulcan sex (which may be amusing in fanfics), it became a soap opera, it wasn't going anywhere and I soon lost interest. If/When they do another TV series it needs to be about a unique crew you can grow to love like Voyager (or TNG, or the original,etc.). I'm not that excited about a new movie the last couple were disappointing, I'll probably go see it on opening night.

Ok...here is the reality of things. All of the different series had there pluses and minuses. Enterprise was not give enough credit or time to prove its worth...in fact it was pretty much shot down before it first aired. Even TNG was in trouble until the end of season 3 when the writers turned it around. As for the movies...I liked all of the next gen movies. They had very good core stories. This new movie will likely be much better do to the fact that it has an excellent writing staff. As for the prospect of a new series...it will be a few years before we can hope to see one but it will happen. When it does, it will require the patience from us fans as it will take some time to build momentum...much like TNG did. So, will Star Trek ever die? No. It has to much of a fan base and it just cotinues to grow. We the fans will keep it alive throughout the ages.

I was raised a trekkie and I'll see to it that my and/or my brothers' children will be, too!! The legacy of Kirk, Picard, Cisco, Janeway, and Archer will not die!

I'm with you...except maybe Archer...never really cared for Enterprise.
