its the start to my learning and studies both wiccan and collage, but also letting my calm side take over more and makeing friends!

Tea's Mabon Sweet Cakes:
1/4 c Honey
1 Egg Yoke
1/2 c Butter
1c+ Flour

Mix softened butter, honey and egg yoke together.

Stir in one cup flour, then add a bit by bit until the dough is ever so slightly crumbly.

Place in a fridge for half an hour.
Preheat Oven to 375.
Press fresh berries into the center of crab apple sized patties and press flat (or us a cake form).

Bake until the edges are slightly brown.

Also note- if the center of the cake is golden- then it is going to be over cooked.

Just lightly brown at the edges.

And they are pretty easy. Kind of taste a bit like short bread cookies with berries.
If you don't want to use berries you can take a Granny Smith apple and dice it up and gently cook it in a table spoon of butter until just slightly tender, mix together some honey and clove and other such spices (I usually add just a hint of fresh ginger to the mix) and use that instead.

Also note that depending on the quality of the honey, egg and butter, you can end up using very different amounts of flour.

I usually end up going through about three cups per batch give or take.

I spent the Equinox with my Coven in celebration and worship. Before Mabon I made some nice rowan berry charms for my husband, my best friend and myself. Oh yeah, and my husband made us some delicious spiced pumpkin pie and some banana bread.

Query: Why Rowan berry and not say- hawthorn berry?
