Sheltigrrl Narki Sheltigrrl I totally don't get the point of making a website/community based on hating something. There's a slew of more positive things to do, why must they focus on the negatives? O_o; Because if people have the right to express their liking for something other people should have the right to express their dislike for the same thing as well. It's the Internet and every single opinion stands represented at this grandest of all forums, live with it. Besides, it's not like some random person's opinion posted somewhere on the Internet effects either of us in any way. Sure, there are homophobes lurking about around the world but we knew that already, so there's nothing new or shocking there. And since we all seem to get a cheap laugh from it all, is there really that much of a threat towards the future of mankind? So they have the right to state their opinion. So it doesn't really effect me. I get all that. I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the depths your right to say it, etc, etc, etc. That doesn't mean I necessarily understand why you say it. All I meant--and said--was that it seems awfully pointless to me to focus so much on hating something. It seems like a horrible waste of time, money, energy, the lot. Okay. So we can take something and mock the s**t out of it. They can find some yaoi and complain about it. But to devote an entire website to disliking something strikes me as somewhat counterproductive. I just don't get it. And I have just as much right to state my opinion--on the Internet, no less--as they do. You certainly do, no arguments there. I just don't agree with your logic in general (although with the sites listed earlier here, I'd have to agree with your point since frankly, they're just poor in all aspects).

Psh. Honestly. Putting such time and effort into negativity in general can't be healthy.

gemini_sohma_chan That is true. Sending her mail like that would just backfire on you. They would just put your e-mail adress on the site and have antiyaoi-fans e-mail you back. Then you would be the bad ones, neh? gonk Thats not what I meant at all!!!
I don't honestly think this guy/girl is like some wicked bitchy person. I just think she wants to be able to express her oppinion on something without being chewed out (without reason I.E trying to calmly reason is fine, however name calling is not) by fans. So I don't think there are any bad ones in this situation.

Society, a lot of the times, is either made out of hate or love with no gray inbetween. Sad, really.
Of course, those who put so much time into hating something probably like the subject anyway. Mainly because it gives them something to vent and hate at.

The first one seems like it's just anti-out of context- yaoi. Which even I can admit is somewhat silly when people throw in random yaoi.
I never really saw a point to putting so much time and effort into something you dislike, by putting up all this information about it and the amount of research that goes into it isn't it a bit of a waste? I don't know maybe I'm just being silly. I understand wanting to state one's opinion but it seems that by focusing so much on what you dislike is just forcing yourself to surround yourself by it.

I think its so silly when people make hate sites. I don't think its healthy to hate something that much. If you hate is so much just don't watch it and try to avoid yaoi fangirly conversations. Its not that deep to make a whole entire website for it.

Not liking yaoi =/= being a homophobe.
Yaoi is almost NOTHING like Real-Life Homosexuality.
Besides, I love hatesites and listings. I mean, if it's something like yaoi, which doesn't have feelings, or someone like Hilary Duff, who sucks so much her anti-fans are the product of her own lack of talent, it's all right.
Being pro-racism and hate sites for race is a different story though. But when I see a hate-site for the something I like, like anime, I chuckle XD

If they can spend that much time making those sites you think they would have time to get a clue.
