They should be okay with it, though I would approach it subtly at first just to see how they would think if you told them straight-out.
Well, you shouldn't do it the way I did: walked into a mall with my parents, made them buy the first three volumes of "Black Kight" [yaoi series], waited until they were outside before showing them the front cover of the second volume and saying, "These are both guys, and guess what? They're lovers! You know what else? You can't give it back to the store, so THERE!"

It doesn't help that my family is full-out Christian. I'll reply to your question with another,
"How can I tell my Christian parents I'm actually an atheist when the last person who approached that delicate subject was disowned?" You think you have it bad? You have no idea.
If they can't accept the real you... well, they would be horrible parents, ne? They don't have to like it, just remember that and tell them if you have to.

Pretty much everyone in my mom's side of the family knows, including one of my cousin's from my dad's side. So far, my mom and my sister don't mind, in fact they like yaoi themselves (mom used to watch it).
I know my mom very well. In fact, when I turned 16 or so, I thought it was the right time to tell her I read porn. I started with heterosexual Tenchi Muyo fanfics. When I came to Yugioh yaoi fanfics, I was introduced to yaoi. I said "oh, what the hell". So I told my mom right out that I liked yaoi and asked her if that was weird. She said and I quote:
"Oh, don't worry. I used to love that too at your age. Besides, reading porn will help you learn a lot."
At first, I was surprised. But thanks to that statement and one my best friends being in denial over liking yaoi, I came out of my shell and boasted to everyone I knew I read AND love boy love porn. Some of friends gagged (mostly the males), but they had to accept me for who I am.
Take it from me, know how your parents think before deciding to tell them or not. I knew my mom was very open minded. I'm no lesbian, but she would love me to pieces no matter what. And guess what, SHE'S CATHOLIC! We both agree the church needs some serious evolving.
My dad, however, is another story. He's protestant (don't know which one), and I've had enough time spent with him to understand he's a very possible candidate for homophobia. Heck, he doesn't stop talking about God, what's good and what's bad. I couldn't tell him I love goth, rock, black, and dragons without him showing the Apocalypse chapters.
