I heard that Evanescence was breaking up or something along those lines.
I love Evanescence, but, like... I've never heard of that first band.

I like Evanescence and Nightwish....both have very good female lead singers.

One band I haven't seen mentioned here is Lullacry, they have an amazing female vocalist, and the riffs are sweet.

The Open Door, their new album should be out pretty soon. A new song of theirs is on my myspace profile. I'm called anime freak there. I'm hardly ever on myspace, though.

Look no further, sept 27th is their new CD the open door, and I already have it. It is wonderful.

I don't really like flyleaf. There are much better bands with female singers.
If you are looking for metal with a female singer to it here's a list.

Sirenia
Draconian
Penumbra
Nightwish

Luca Turrilli's Dreamquest
Betty X (good luck finding this one, still underground)
Kittie (more rock than metal)

At the lake (i think, no CD's out yet)

Anyway, this is a great list for female fronted metal. I like most of them more than evanescence and there is more where this came from

Everyone keeps saying that they have never heard flyleaf. They aren't that good in my opinion, they have one song on the radio "fully alive" and It sounds way top poppish on the vocals for my taste.

And whoever told you that Evanescence was breaking up was a dirty liar, they have had some lineup changes, Ben Moody is no longer with the band, but they aren't breaking up, in fact they are touring their new cd starting in october. I downloaded the advance of it and it is brilliant.
