Character Name: Thron Character Image:
View: Traditional (But Pragmatic) Why?: The First Speaker has had more than enough time to watch the pride rot and succumb to corruption, particularly nepotism. The upwards mobility and variety that once existed in the Stormborn vanished when the eldest took advantage of their positions and deliberately became selective. He blames this seeping corruption for the disillusion within the Freeborn and the seeming resignation that "Reaving" is the only option.
He has made it his life goal to change that, his solemn duty to shift this tide and remind Freeborn that the heart of the pride is inside it. While Reavers might play a role, they are not the most significant o the species. Consequently he has traditional views and firmly believes that females should remain at home where they can have their children when they want, but also where they can ensure their influence is most felt. Similarly, for those males less inclined to hunt for glory and riches, he believes that more work should be done to encourage them in to other disciplines.
He is diplomatic about this, but unwavering in his belief and would actively use his influence to twist the arm of any lion that would seek to convinceh im that a female should be allowed outside.
...Just like others, he's seen the females of the pride use that exploration for one reason only, and it hasn't been glory. This obsession with Reaving has left more than capable freeborn without a mate, and he considers this unacceptable, the very females of the pride have shunned their own kind in pursuit of something of lesser blood. This speaks volumes about the judgement of these females, and the respect they have for their own kind.
Interestingly, he's incredibly kind and respectful to those who do actively promote the traditionalist mindset, even those who seek to be slightly more progressive and make subtle changes. Some change is good, but a complete and categoric shift at the expense of your own nation is completely unacceptable... This is a lesson that all females (and even their more modern male counterparts), must learn.

Character Name: Simbi Character Image:
View: Traditional (But Pragmatic) Why?: He's on his way towards Lawspeaker after securing the tutelage of Thron. Like the First Speaker, he sees the potential for Stormborn to become great again...if only they'd remember who they truly are. He's tried Reaving, he did so under Tethys's tutelage, and it simply wasn't for him. This wasn't through weakness, simply that he had no great desire in partake in the glory hunting... To him, there's already too many cooks and they've been spoiling the broth for a long time.
He seeks to reinvigorate the Stormborn just as his mentor does, and the only way he can do that, is to remind everyone that they are just as important as those who explore outside. If anything, those who determine policy and raise the next generations, are significantly more important than those who are away for most of their existence.
While he will accept the existence of female Reavers, he doesn't regard them as appropriate...
He was raised in a modern family, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been exposed to the views of others in his time in the pride, hence his own personal views and his ability to concede that on this occasion, some of the views of the traditionalists are correct.

Character Name: Hakon Character Image:
View: Traditional (But Pragmatic) Why?: He was raised as a traditionalist, but his views are the same as Simbi and his mentor Thron's. He too is actively pursuing a career as a Lawspeaker, with much the same intentions as well. It is absolutely imperative that the Freeborn begin to realise that they are of greater significance than the Reavers and it is they who change and shape the pride... Not those who seek trinkets.
Afterall, it seems that the purpose of the Reavers has also been forgotten, given that so few thralls are brought back. If anything, more Freeborn children appear, than anything that helps to underpin and hold together the very fibre of the pride. More mouths to feed, with significantly less paws to ensure there's something to give them.
...It's a recipe for disaster, and the females are in large part a problem for that given their insistence on bedding anything that moves outside!
Unlike Simbi, he's more abrasive when expressing his opinion and may come across as arrogant.

Character Name: Naima Character Image:
View: Modern (Traditionalist Leanings) Why?: She was a lioness who came from the outside, a world where freedom of choice for all was paramount. Nevertheless her time in the Stormborn draws on, she has acknowledged that there has been a remarkable shift towards leaving the land, rather than staying in it. It seems the modern generation, particularly females, are obsessed with escaping as quickly as possible... It's as though no love exists for the pride anymore.
As such, while she appreciates some females may have wanderlust that they want to embrace, she's prepared to accept that something needs to be done to temper the flow and restore the heart of the pride to its former glory. She's no politician and has no idea how that would even begin, but she would be willing to support some changes in policy in order to promote it.
She would, however, be apprehensive about completely removing the freedom of females to facilitate this restoration.
