The hunter let out a shriek as electricity coursed through it. The shadowy form recoiled and retracted in on itself, shuddering. It began to look around frantically, as if seeking a means of escape. And sure enough, the creature began to flee.
But not before Shun appeared before it and cut through its face with his dagger of shadows. The hunter let out another cry as its form began to dissolve into nothing. Before it disintigrated completely, it said one more thing as its golden eyes locked onto Shun. This time in a voice no one else would recognize, "You will always fail."
And then the hunter was no more.
Shun's fingers twitched at the creature's final words, narrowing his good eye before looking to Jeremiah and Fox, who he assumed at least one if not both had handcuffs with them. He motioned to the bound man on the ground, who was starting to try and get up.
"There is the man who attempted to assassinate the Chief of Police, created the bomb threat, and assaulted several other people."
The man spat at the ground, then spoke up as he stood. He sounded nothing like Shun, "This isn't over, Kuroda."

Thanks, precious. The words were sent to Algie alone, Jeremiah giving him a small amused (but grateful) look. It wasn't as if he was worried about being hurt at all (though something had tugged at his magic a bit), though the words of the Hunter made him want to snarl something back out.
He didn't.
There was no point as it dissolved and the man was left behind. Jeremiah was gone from his husband's side, a glimmer of coldfire left behind, as he reappeared next to the man and put a hand on his shoulder to stop him from moving.
"It's over for you," he told the man, a special set of handcuffs pulled out. These glinted strangely and were darker than regular handcuffs. "You're under arrest." ... and then Jeremiah was rattling off a list of offenses along with Miranda rights.
Not that he didn't give a look to Kuroda because, obviously, this was probably a thing that would still be a thing later.

"Shiloh," Alexis called out, hopping the boxes - the Hunter's words had barely cut at all because they had bigger problems to worry about, because last time Autumn had made it out, and aside from rummaging around in their ******** eye nobody had been hurt - "Shiloh, she's dead, you're here, we're here, she's gone - " and they thought about kicking this guy in the neck, the shoulder, in the meat where it'd hurt and hide with a thanks for stabbing me, a*****e, but -
It wasn't worth it.
They kept their hands up, hoping maybe that'd cut through the storm raging in his head, everything whirling-wild in his mind; say 'no threat, no threat'. They didn't look much like the Spinel Lady. And if Shiloh hurt them, he'd hurt them, but they had to do something here - they'd done so little that it was unacceptable. They had to do something for anything to be valid, to be valid, to be real.

This time when the tendrils came to strike true, a set of the thick gnarled roots that Shiloh had been using for combat shot up instinctively—almost like a reflex—though the shadowy onslaught still seemed to slice through his skin, still seemed to sink through the magical plants that were so integral to his body.
But Shiloh—he wasn't feeling pain right now, he wasn't even considering it—and despite Jamie's voice in the back of his crowded, crowded head, it was Algernon striking the beast down that brought him back to some semblance of cognitive thought. The Madame's voice was gone, and they were all standing around except for Shiloh. Shiloh was a heap on the ground, covered in sticky blood and blooms upon blooms of flowers.
"Noeh was right." He breathed, "They never leave. They live forever." And forever was such a long, lonesome death.
His eyes snapped over to Alexis as she approached, something unmistakably aggressive about the sharpness of his gaze, the way his muscles seized up like he was ready to lash out, but this wasn't the Spinel Lady. They were too short, for starters. Reality was rapidly catching up with him as he struggled to regain his resolve.
Instead he just mutely shook his head, but he didn't make any attempt to move away, no attempts to lash out. The vines he had been using as extensions of himself fell to the ground with a dull sound, the greenery inexplicably browning and greying out as they curled in on themselves to dissipate. There was nothing left of them except for the cracks in the ground that they had sprung from.
Was he ever going to be strong enough to deal with this s**t? Everyone else had handled themselves well. Was he falling behind? Was he really a safe bet for principality?
"I'm sorry Kuroda..." It didn't sound much like Shiloh, but the apology was there all the same. "It wasn't you. I'm ******** stupid."
After all, as an unwilling tithe of the Sorrowful One's Court, he knew all about doubles and the havoc they could wreck. At least, he should've.

The stink eye Jamie gave the a*****e who'd impersonated Shun probably wouldn't be all that effective considering the way he looked—small, fragile, fluffy—but that didn't matter. The grief he'd caused made Jamie absolutely livid and only Shiloh in a heap on the floor kept him focused on something that wasn't recounting how much he wanted to cause a scene. At least the guy was in handcuffs. Hopefully he'd be going to jail for a long, long time.
"I'm sorry, too," Jamie told Shun, sounding embarrassed but genuine as he scurried in Shiloh's direction past Alexis. The thought of doubles was instantly doubled through their mind link. Should've known, should've know, Jamie felt that way, too.
Crouching down, he put a hand on Shiloh's arm, trying to be calm, trying to be comforting.
