It was smart thing that Guzma had decided to stop himself, it seemed like the only thing that the snake man wanted was destruction and that's exactly what he had been giving him. While he hated to admit it, Guzma was self aware enough that he knew that he was easily tricked in doing things that he otherwise wouldn't do. Such as destroying his own home. When hearing the guy talk about wanting a death wish from taking a close range shot from a shotgun only made him smile. Of course this pirate had no idea who he was and what he was capable of doing. That left a lot of room to surprise him and that may be what he needed if wanted to be able to hit him. "I don't plan on dying from a simple shotgun pellets." Guzma would say no longer yelling in fact he seemed a lot more calm than what he once was. Hearing the sounds of his old hang out being destroyed was enough to make him clench his fist but looking at the crowd he realized that he would need to repair his home town when he was done taking out the snake guy. As he was heading to the door of the building he slowed to a stop when hearing his old friend cheer for him. "You can beat him Guzma" A soft smile breaking from his face. A soft cheer coming from her as the crowd slowly joined. It was strange how a crowd could so easily change their perspective over someone after making a common enemy with that person. The worst part is he knew that half of them would continue on hating him after this. "SHUT UP ALL OF YOU. I am not doing it for you guys. This guy is just irritating to look at" He would snap at them before walking to the entrance.

Of course the man would attempt to shoot at him, anyone would know that this pirate wouldn't obey his own request to being a normal one on one fight. Diving to the ground quickly the bullets would miss him, using his drop to the ground to push his entire body at Wolfnod, attempting to tackle him down. Grabbing on to the shotgun and then placing a his hand around the pirates neck and pulling him into a strong headbutt. How was this possible one may ask. Well besides the obvious reason that a man running in creaky wood would simply reveal someone by sound alone. They were also playing in his home field he knew every nook and cranny of his base and Wolfnod had been running into a corner. While he was faster than him there was no way for him to simply slip by him.

It seemed both parties were underestimating one another in this battle, Wolfnod's initial shotgun spread seemingly missing his opponent at the door followed by his being tackled by the man who he was attempting to keep his distance again, however this would more than likely end up working in his favor just this once as Guzma wasn't aware what his snake-like body could do and just how different his genetics were than that of a human being. The moment he was caught by his neck the entire fight would take a turn in the unexpected for his opponent. As Guzma attempted to butt heads with the slithery Wolfnod he would be met with nothing but air, if the man wasn't careful then the pirate hunter might rattle his own skull against the hard wooden floor of the building further jeopardizing the structural integrity of their current battleground. All at once the snake minks body contorted in unbelievable ways, inhuman in nature. His neck extending almost double that of a regular persons as he was able to crane his head in a way that his opponents headbutt couldn't even reach the delicate skull of the pirate. Likewise his arms and legs would almost double in length too. Guzma would be unable to reach the shotgun in his hand thanks to his reach far extending that of the humans. Furthermore the dagger he had pulled out earlier was also in his free hand. Shrouded by darkness and using it to his advantage it was likely safe to say Guzma would have no idea what was happening in this scuffle. Taking this advantage Wolfnod fired off another round with his shotgun point blank at Guzma's front while his left hand would attempt to slide the dagger into the left side of Guzma's torso just below the ribs. At the very least even if he missed with one of his attacks his shotgun could cause further damage to the foundation. Following his two deadly attacks he would push with his extended legs kicking the man off of him and recoiling back into the darkness. The only downfall to this dark place he had chosen being he was unaware just how much damage he might've caused to his opponent- hopefully he didn't have as many sneaky tricks up his sleeves as Wolfnod did. Furthermore luckily for Wolfnod he had one last major sneak attack he could call upon depending how much longer this fight would drag out.

Seems like Guzma got the dirty snake right where he wanted him. Tackling him down to the ground, his hands had gone for the shotgun and the neck. While he had caught the neck of the pirate the shotgun seemed to just stretch far away from his reach. The same could have been said for his neck which stretched the others head away from the headbutt. Unfortunately that did not matter at all to Guzma just wanted to hit the man. Hitting his neck would do just fine, while the neck would be able stretch and twist in many directions his hand holding it in place would be prevent any movement that could cause him to miss his head butt. Guzma had clearly not expected to have his enemy stretch his limbs however now knowing that he would quickly look to prevent both of his hands from doing whatever they were doing. It was true that the darken room would make it hard to see much, being in the building for a while allowed his eyes to adjust. Now one would want to ask themselves why stop the hand that you didn't know what was planning to do and not the one with the shotgun. Well it was quite simple really, as the shotgun was aimed directly at his chest the pellets would hit him directly. But instead of being pushed back or having a hole blown in the chest, the sound of metal clinking the floor would be heard. The bullets that had been shot at him had hit his haki defense he created at his chest and simply lost all the strength in them.

Guzma was no longer goofing around and with Wolfgang no longer talking he was able to focus on the fight alone. To stop the hand that was trying to stab him he quickly switched his hands. His left hand now holding Wolfgang down while his right hand stopped the other's left hand. "Not being so talkative now huh...your bullets can't hurt me and I got you pinned down." Guzma would squeeze the wrist that he was holding. Using enough force to completely shatter his wrist. Finally letting go of his neck he pulled his fist back and quickly gave him a punch directly at his legs as he had attempted to kick at him. There was no way that Guzma would let go of the man after having caught him.

Somehow Wolfnod had backed himself into a corner, his opponent smashing his head directly into the snakes neck, followed by his left arm being crushed at the wrist, and the apparent stoppage of his shotgun fire. It looked as though the man had managed to deflect bullets with his bare chest. The pain was overwhelming to say the least, Wolfnod's entire body felt as though it was being broken into tiny bits. If he had bones they'd be crushed, however his cartilage would have to do instead. He was stuck now, limp from the ongoing assault of his enemy. Barely able to breathe thanks to the destructive blow nearly shattering his windpipe. Still his outstretched head latched on to his last ditch effort. His jaw unhinging and biting deep into the last standing pillar within the structure, the last foundation holding up this dark decrepit building. If he was going down then he'd bring this house down with him, burying himself and his opponent inside as well as completing the destruction he had set out upon. He'd be buried alive, or at least what little life was left in him- but at least he'd know his mayhem would live on if only for a short while. As his jaw tightened and his sharp teeth tore through the pillar the entire building would do just that, collapse. Guzma would have to act fast if he didn't want to be buried, not that he couldn't just lift the debris off of him with the massive strength he had. Wolfnod however was already on his last legs, nearly unable to breathe, his arm and both legs shattered entirely due to the weak cartilage he had to replace his bones. Being a snake had its drawbacks in this case, as he could feel the crumbling building bury away at him and his aggressor, at least he could have the last laugh. It was a grotesque cackle, a shrill cry that poured out between gasps and wheezes, he was a true psychotic. At the very least he knew Toroa wouldn't be forgetting about him anytime soon, they would need to rebuild after all the havoc he dished out upon their quaint little town. Plus their "hero" who had destroyed more than he saved would likely continue to be shunned by his people as well. That much was worth the laugh.

╔═════════════════════════════════════════════╗

"Guzma you're an idiot" Most people would often find that when someone talked about themself in third person they are either dumb, stupid, or crazy or a combination of three. It seemed like Guzma himself seem to call himself an idiot. However why was he insulting him. Having beaten Wolfgang in a fight he had made no mistakes. If you didn't count partially destroying his own home as a mistake, but this fight with the pirate had left him with no injuries. So why was Guzma calling himself an idiot? Well it seemed like using the rest of strength the pirate decided to destroy the final pillar that was stopping his old hideout from collapsing. Funny how when you are deeply focused on doing one certain action you just don't notice what is happening around you. Seeing his hang in such a poor condition would ignite a deep anger in him but the soft cackle of Wolfnod. Reminded him of himself in a few ways. He had killed a marine a while back not on purpose he had simply come aboard his ship and attacked his crew, Guzma's punch had blown a hole in his chest. Not the very same situation was happening here except this time Guzma showed a little bit of mercy. This was was the foolish act he had taken, grabbing Wolfgang limbs he quickly curled him up into a smallish ball and laid on top of him. As the building collapsed pieces of wood and furniture would start to fall on them, well just on Guzma as he held Wolfgang close to him. Inside the building had been dark but now there was complete darkness, besides the soft breathing coming from Guzma he wouldn't say much for a while. "You okay there" Guzma asked his voice full of concern of the other, Wolfgang would start to feel a drip water or some sort of liqud falling down in his body. A soft grunt coming from Guzma as he pushed his body up in a attempt to move the rubble off of them. Shaking as parts of the rubble moved slightly, making enough space so that light shined inside their little cocoon of rubble. The liquid dripping on Wolfgang had been blood, Guzma's blood. A metal pole had driven itself into the side of Guzma yet from Wolfgang's view no expression of pain would appear on tanned white haired man. "Need a bit of time to...regain my composure before I push out the rubble...so let me ask you this....why did you do it?" Guzma would ask looking down at him, literally. Even when soaked with blood and covered in dust, Guzma's body had a radiating glow that only showed off his muscular arms and firm abs.

The once quiet village of Toroa was in complete shambles and disarray due to a recent pirate attack. Gully had grown restless at the marine headquarters and decided to make himself useful to those in need, the entire reason he had joined the marines was to look out for the little guy in the only way he ever knew how, by beating up the bad guys and working hard to make things right. It was always a brewing mixture of emotions whenever he came across such complete destruction in his work. Thoughts of his hometown being left as nothing but rubble didn't sit well with him, and all he could picture while walking the ruined streets of Toroa was his own birthplace and how they were currently fairing with the increase in pirate activity since the incident at Torino Kingdom and the new age of piracy being spurred forward. A group of men and women came rushing toward the hulking marines after he caught their eye. It seemed the villagers had banded together to begin rebuilding their homes. "Officer! Have you come to help us? We've been slaving for days trying to get things back in order but it's a lot of work. Has some kind of backup finally arrived?" there was a certain level of pleading to their voices and actions, it seemed they were overworked and tired from all the strain the reconstruction was taking on their bodies. The whale merman gave a small nod in their direction before pushing past them toward the pile of nails and wooden planks they had amassed, so far the work they had put in only resulted in a single half finished home. He sighed at the hurdle ahead of him before taking a hammer and a bucket full of nails in each hand. His large tail-like appendage at his back maneuvering with precise control as it lifted the heavier planks of wood and held them in spot. The process that took him only a few seconds had taken four or five villagers at a time previously. This allowed them to pool their efforts elsewhere as he began nailing in the board, his ability to get down and dirty when the time was needed was astounding for a marine, however Gully hadn't been raised as some pampered pretty boy like many he had seen inside his ranks. He was born in a coastal town, spent his youth prowling the seas for fish and whales, fighting for his living daily alongside his parents. This young country boy had a sense of community, and seeing the people of Toroa gathered together in attempts to rebuild did more than spur him forward, he vowed to repair this entire village down to the last building.

"I'm alone, but I'm not gonna stop workin' until you've all got a roof over your head. I'll handle construction of this buildin', you start on a second until I finish up here."

Gully began giving out instruction as he toiled away at the first building, by the time he had finished his sentence the first wall had already been erected and nailed together and he was starting on the second, his process likely ten times quicker than whatever had previously been done by the villagers who lived here, not that he was chastising them for their work, he was impressed by their resolve and wouldn't let them go unrewarded for all the blood, sweat, and tears they had poured into this building process. "Listen up, I just need you to lay out the foundation of the buildin' and then move on to the next, keep following that process and I'll toss together the walls and roofing, alright?" he shouted from his position, not bothering to stop working or look back for a response, he expected his orders to be followed lest these people ended up taking months to rebuild their shanty town. Gully could do it in a day, maybe less- as it were now he had already finished nailing together all the walls and had started on the roof. Using his huge tail to balance him in the air, just high enough to nail down each board while not worrying about caving in the entire structure with his weight. It didn't take him long to finish with the first roof, bringing the build of the first home to its conclusion, surprisingly enough the erected home looked incredibly inviting and nothing like a shack thrown together with haste, it seemed Gully was better with his hands than most would expect from someone of his station. He heard a few stray claps behind him after he had finished, some of the younger children running inside the building and camping out there playing and giggling inside, seemingly carefree. Gully was glad to gift that kind of security in his work, however unlike the rest he did not halt in order to praise himself, he had already sauntered over to the second foundation laid out for him.

Gully was slightly impressed with the villagers, they were working hard to keep up with him. They had managed to lay out the foundation of the second building in time for him, and they were starting on the third at this point. It was much easier the second time around, now that the marine was confident in his ability and knew exactly what process to follow it meant using his massive tail to raise the boards, his strong hands to nail them together. Then afterward all he needed was to lift himself using the colossal appendage and work at nailing a few boards across the roof. These were no picture perfect homes, however for a quick project just being thrown together so people had a place to sleep they were high-end and efficient. The village was small so he wouldn't need to make too many of these makeshift shelters either, hell he could probably uncomfortably cram the entire village population into three homes however he wanted to offer them as much relief as possible, he'd shoot for double that or more if he could manage it. He finished the second home hastily, catching up to the villagers and helping them lay foundation and put up the exterior together from that point on. The entire process ate away at them for hours, however before long the villagers in conjunction with Gully had managed to create several stable homesteads before they all took a long and well deserved break. Each one was more sturdy and presentable than the last, the final creation looking almost like a detailed house unlike the first that resembled something akin to a barn at best, he was becoming quite the architect with the help of the villagers, hopefully his work wouldn't go unappreciated although he doubted that was even possible. Gully flopping down on his tail and sitting upon it as if it were some kind of kingly throne. He was a mass of sweat, his hands were rough and held numerous cuts and splinters from his work. He was a mess after everything was finally said and done, the worst part being that he still needed to do more but he didn't have the energy to keep going. Perhaps after a short rest he would be able to get back to his feet and continue the reconstruction, but not right away. He'd likely need to put one foot in the grave just to fulfill his duties here, there was so much destruction left behind from whatever malevolent force had set it's sights upon this quaint little village. This was exactly the reason why he would spare no pirate he came into contact with, show no mercy to those who could so effortlessly destroy the lives of so many.

The young girl would make her way to Toroa. She had seen the larger Marine on his way here and figured she would follow. What was his name again? Something about a forest of pixies ravaged by destruction. Fern? Gully? She stood quietly in his shadow, the people didn't seem to make too big of a fuss over here. Maybe because she wasn't too big, still she wouldn't let that deter her. She was amp'd up to help out. Since she wasn't spoken to, she didn't bother responding. But instead held her hands in front of her in the shape of fists. Her mouth contorted into a smile, and she would prepare for a storm. A storm of good doing! She would run by Gully and onward to the assortment of wood and nails. Oh, no wait, she didn't really know how to build anything. No one ever taught her. She folded her arms, head tilting toward the right side as she scanned over what to do. That was before a rather old man caught her attention. Said he was too old to gather the wood up because of how heavy it was, but if she could hold the wood up tot he frame he would hammer them in and keep them stable. Sounded simple enough. "Yosh!" She exclaimed, grabbing a stack of wood and rampaging forward beyond the pack of Marines that had come. It was only about four or five planks, but she held them up as best as she could. Luckily the old man didn't mind correcting her on mistakes, and showing her how to adjust the wood in the mean time. Bam. Bang. Boom. In what seemed like a short amount of time they had completely reconstructed a single side of the house. What? Just one side?? No way no way, something had to give. She had seen the man nail an entire side, and he was super helpful with his instructions.

"Hey, can i see this for a second?" She asked for the hammer and the old man gave it to her with extra compliance. He was tired, cause he was old. She hadn't realized until now but, he was kind of slowing her down. Spin, he held the hammer in one hand and the wooden board in the other. She held it up, placed near perfectly. And then she went to slam the hammer! But wait, there was nothing there for her to strike. She didn't have enough hands for the nails. She looked from the bare wooden board to the nails behind her. The old man laughed, and she put the wooden board down to ponder. Ah! Of course. She had the perfect idea. She skittered about, holding the wooden board and comparing it to the other frames. She had a general idea of where the nails should lie, and she made sure to mark them. With what? The hammer, small knicks in the smooth wood that told her where the marks would go. Bam. Bang. Boom. She hammered the nails into the corresponding knicks. Then held the wood up to the frame. Huh ... Hmm. She turned to look at the old man who gave her a thumbs up. "HAha Yeah!" Smack. Clank. The board was hammered in, in no time at all she completed an entirely new wall. In fact, the house was done altogether. Huff. She released a breath of air, this was kind of tough alone wasn't it. Really super duper tiring, but that meant all of the weakness was leaving her body. Because when she was done being tired, she will have grown that much stronger! She turned to the old man whose house she had helped finishing to see he had fallen asleep. Finding a bit of tarp, she would place it under his head for comfort and then barge off. More to do, things to see and all that Jazz.

She had seen the crowd clapping, and came to look behind them. She looked at the house Gully had made, and then thought back to the small shack she had put together. Her face kind of grimaced, slightly, for a short bit. So she'd have to keep up with him. Onward!! They had already finished the first building, and undoubtedly Gully was going to build the second. So she would help with the beginnings of the third. She found a mixer, which seemed simple enough. You hoisted u ... Emmhmm. "Uh ..." You just picked up this little bag here ... It won't move. How heavy was this bag. "Ah, thankqyu!" She spoke tot he Villager who picked up the bag, she added some water and mixed the cement. By now they had made a containment area for it. Lyrica would guide the small mixer back into the foundation and allow it to pour into the wooden boards. Making a station for the house to be on. Just wow, dude, who really went through all of the trouble of breaking all of these people's stuff. So not cool, totally not kosher. It wasn't long until she realized just how slow she was. Gully had caught up to them already, and was helping them put down the rest of the home improvements. She was kind of a background player in the whole thing. If it wasn't for her badge no one could probably tell that she was a Marine. Still, this was kind of fun, the sweating the hard work. Perseverance through exhaustion. She huffed as Gully took a break, working harder than the rest of them. She rallied the troops, marines and towns people alike. Finishing this not only for themselves but for the man whom had done it all in their stead. And even then, he still didn't know rest or relaxation. These people had lost more than their homes after all. They had been stolen from, whatever was not broken was taken. So they would have to replace all of that.

She would fall back in splendor, Gully could really build. The rise and fall of her chest was only met by the wide brimmed smile she adorned. Yeah. She fell back, arms and legs spread while she stared blankly. at the sky. This was nice, doing something nice. She had no hatred in her heart for people, but this kindness could only be extended because of the cruelty of Pirates, right? That means that Pirates had a role in this world. That there would be no good if not for evil. It brought warmth to her heart, to know her Father was a great man. Her head turned to the side, a large ship pulling up. Slowly would the young girl sit up to view the sight of the brig. Ah, the ship with all of the stuff to stock the homes. It wouldn't do with all of these homes with nothing in them. "Hey, big guy, come on!" She would exclaim, as if she wasn't tired but a moment ago. Body still full of sweat, she would yell out to the large man and run back towards the docks. The quicker they finished this, the quicker they could go on helping other people, and wasn't that what everything was about. She would halt at the docks, the ship hadn't quite gotten here yet. Maybe its size made her second guess just how close it was. Nevertheless, she would look onward. Hands up to shade her eyes from the monstrous sun. Giddy, her legs would wiggle back and forth as it approached. She was practically bouncing by the time the anchor had weighed. Stuff stuff and more stuff. She loved stuff, not that she could put much stuff on her own ship. Still, she could arrange a lot of stuff in people's houses. Probably starting with that old man. He could probably really use a bed. He seemed so tired.

                                                                        Toroa Reconstruction [1,313/1,250]

Gully hadn't noticed the little marine that had been tailing him since he left headquarters, but once she made her presence known to him he recalled her working the hardest out of all the other people present, and always with a smile on her face. As her peppy tone rang through his ears he got to his feet, exhaustion taking hold of him as he practically dragged himself to the nearby ship alongside her. Looking down at the young woman as she hopped up and down in anticipation it brought on a small grin of his own, a difficult task to accomplish. Unfortunately whenever Gully expressed positive emotion it always came off the wrong way, his smiles misinterpreted as grimaces most of the time. "I'll take the large furniture, you grab whatever you can." he explained, not exactly sure if this woman would be able to carry something as heavy as a bed or table. When the ship finally docked Gully entered the hull and began carrying out all sorts of furnishings, carrying a large dinner table on each shoulder while balancing three beds upon his tail. He made the trip to the nearest house and piled all of the things he carried outside of it before heading back for more. He continued this process until every last heavy object was off the ship and near the build site. Only then did Gully begin the hard labor of furnishing each home with the bare necessities that it would need, attempting to fit each home with at least two beds, one large tables, a couple of dressers and cabinets, etc. Each place was really beginning to come together with every trip he made, leaving it to Lyrica in order to really align the finishing touches of each homestead. "Any marines currently present report to me after we're finished, there's been a string of raids recently and our job isn't finished." he bellowed, his deep gravelly voice effectively penetrating the entire area. There was so many faces among him at the moment he couldn't actually figure out who lived here and who was here on official marine business. Either way once he finished up here Gully had plans to move on to the next blue that had been assaulted by pirates and provide whatever relief he could, this was one of the main focuses behind his enlisting in the first place, to aid the little people and help them through these times of strife. Once he was finished Gully would round up any marines still willing to follow and help where they were needed, and he would exit shortly after in order to head to the next tip he had received, a large string of raids were taking place and Gully both hoped he could provide assistance to those effected by them, as well as catch the b*****d who caused all this harm in the first place so he could toss him in the slammer.

That was probably for the best, she couldn't very well be dragging new stuff through the dirt. She wasn't quite too big, or quite that strong! Aha, but she was cute. meaning the best course of action was to get someone bigger and stronger to do it for him. "Gotcha!" She would approach the two biggest guys she could find and tell them about the sleeping old man. Where to find him, and where they should deliver the bed to. After giving them full details, she would wave to them and chase behind Gully to where he carried the furniture. Now that it was down, she could slide it pretty easily. Despite its weight, there wasn't too much friction to hold her back. So she would move the tables and the chairs, couches. Along with the help of some townspeople. Using the furniture to craft rooms and sections in the large open space. While motioning beds and the like into the actual built in rooms. Until the Village could completely rebuild itself families wouldn't have separate housing. They would have to make do with the six or so places that Gully had crafted for them. Still, it didn't seem to deter the people, they were happy for the things they had.

Shift shift, place. Things at the first lodge went pretty quick. And with the layout already planned, it made it that much easier for her to mow through the rest of the houses. Sure, they would all pretty much look the same. But the accents and accessories let them stand out a bit. One with dolphin pictures, one with tigers. Another with a Marine insignia ... it was all that was left. And it was probably meant to stay on the ship, never matter. With that all done she would step out of the last house and make her way to the shack. Peeking in on the sight of the old man sleeping in a bed. She would smirk and then turn at the sound of her den den mushi. No, was? Was that just his voice? "No way." She exclaimed with a smile before running back to the docks. She had just joined not long ago, so she didn't know too much about all of these super duper raids. Still, she wouldn't miss a chance to see the smiles on these people's faces for anything. She hopped in her boat, and proceeded to follow Gully to the next place.

                                                                        Toroa Reimbursement [410/400]

[It had been so long since the young man had the freedom he needed to escape from that prison like Marine base. Ever since they found him and had him detained for questioning, he was given the most minimal amounts of care and hospitality. Only by the efforts of one woman was he freed and given the opportunity to join the Marines, and set a good life for himself. Though, that was his intentions all along. Joining the Marines that is. With a humble smile, he was provided with the necessary materials he needed to get his new found career started, and for his first ever mission, he was tasked with both the reimbursement of a place called Toroa, and finding some named...Gully? Regardless, he has no interest in either, but he does have interest in the inner workings of the Marines, and so, he’d do his job as ordered.

The boy had docked onto the island, only making it here with the help of various kind travelers and sealife. Yami takes a long good look at the island before him. Toroa, a beautiful summer island. “It has a good scent. I like this island.” he says in a cheerfully calm tone. After stepping off of his ship, and grabbing hold of the large sack provided to him for the mission, the young boy turns to look at the only form of civilization in sight. Quite a ways away, but there seems to be enough people there to finish his mission, and there are even a few marines lingering about helping with reconstruction. His curious fox like eyes wander, taking in the sights of all of these strange and abstract things he’s never seen back home. “So this is the human world.” he whispers, catching the attention of an elderly woman. She motions him over, wondering if he were a lost boy from the island, or an orphan.

After a bit of thought, Yami lowers his hand from his chin and shakes his head slowly. “No. I don’t think I have parents, but I’m not an orphan either. Though, I don’t know what that means.” he says honestly. “Anyways, you look important, elderly human. So, here is a gift from the Marine Headquarter’s humans. He said it was...reimbursement.” After his statement, he hands the sack of beli to the woman and turns to walk off. After gaining a few feet or so, he stops and turns back to the woman. “Oh, right. Goodbye.” he says, followed by an arms to side bow, something he copied from the woman that freed him from the confinement zone. It seemed to work out pretty well for her, so, must be a good thing to do. ]

"...Well gang, we've arrived." The ginger haired man would say, bringing the Valhalla Screaming to a halt. Docking it off the quiet village of Toroa. Before stepping off of his ship, Thaddeus decided he should have a little chat about the stowaway they'd caught prior. "..." Silently stepping down the stairs of the cellar door. Thaddeus would step into the dimly illuminated storage closet that he'd turned into a special little makeshift prison which was just a lockable broom closet in actuality. But I digress.

Opening the small room, Thaddeus' last good eye would gaze upon the tired and no doubt thirsty form of the woman he'd caught. See Thaddeus was the opposite of Sanji, he hated women, good for nothing skirts, he'd kick em and spit on em if he could. So he felt no qualms with locking up this one, in fact it was necessary. It was no secret that the cowboy had made a reputation for himself and with that came a lot of enemies. Standing at the doorway, a sliver of light would shine through the room revealing the prisoner, Samantha's stripped form. Safety precautions had already been taken. In one of Thaddeus' long bony arms, Samantha's clothes, and a rusty cup of water. "Here." The rouge would say, tossing her clothes over, they'd already been checked for secret weapons or useful information several times. The story of how Samantha just happened to stumble upon The Valhalla seemed to check out... for now. Thaddeus had left the ship docked over there for a little over a year now. All manner of dust and spiders took refuge aboard the ship. Except this one seemed to be a wee bit bigger then the average creepy crawly you'd find around here.

"Well Samantha. You some kinda nerd?" The one eye'd man would interrogate, poking fun at her glasses. If she was going to be aboard the ship, she would have to be of some kind of use. Thaddeus would give her the courtesy to figure out what she was going to do, lest he assign something even more perverted for her. "You owe me." Thaddeus would announce, a very famous line of his, perhaps even one of his favorite he could command of her something in return.

"I hope you're handy with a pistol."

The man would say, causally tossing a loaded a loaded pistol at the girl's feet. You'd think for someone who was so familiar with gun violence and gun related deaths, Thaddeus would have a bit for trigger discipline. But he was a 2-bit gangster before a gun fighter so he really couldn't be bothered. Finally turning away from the woman, Thaddeus had no reason to distrust her... YET. So he'd allow her to ride with them. Until her path differed or her usefulness came to an end.

"We've docked at Toroa. I want you upstairs when I explain the plan."

The finally thing Thaddeus would coldly said, before leaving the storage closet door open for her. Women understood each other, so if Sam was looking for some manner of compassion, she could go bother Phinia. The ex-king was much to focused on the task at hand. Recruiting the people of Toroa back to his cause. He'd hoped not through force, But with a monster like Phinia on his team, it wouldn't be hard to completely wipe the area off the map if it came down to it. Thaddeus already had most of West Blue backing him. So who would care if a small little insignificant village with small little insignificant people suddenly disappeared. Walking about the ship Thaddeus would look for his new first mate. "Phinia, where are you woman." He would call, while Thaddeus assumed the deck, he'd not made it up to that level to even be sure. Last he saw of her, she was manning the sails, with her flight ability she was much more suited for the task, then lazy bones Thaddeus. Oh well, maybe he'd help her... if she showed him her panties.

Although the crew that found her was not exactly hostile, they were not so friendly as to let her go away with a scolding. No, the next place she found herself in was a makeshift prison, from where she could escape at any moment since she could simply unlock the door as the man had no way of knowing she had eaten a Devil Fruit. He was, however, a fiend. A pervert, a deviant! Not only did he lock the poor, self-proclaimed, genius in a broom closet but he also stole her clothes! A thief! But they were now in a different island. Where exactly, Samantha had no way of knowing since she did not exit the broom closet out of respect to the two guns the man carried and was probably skilled at using. If she had any confidence in her own skills with her powers she would have chosen to escape though. But she would, most certainly, get caught again as she wasn't exactly a fast runner. Fortunately, the man returned to the broom closet, bringing her clothes and a cup of water. He probably checked her belongings to see if she carried a weapon. If he was thorough he probably noticed that there wasn't a single thing that could be called a weapon in her clothes or bag. At that time she also couldn't help but think that the man thought something rude but, she had no way of confirming that.

When he initiated contact, he asked right out if she was a nerd. An insult to her, self-proclaimed, genius self!
"How rude! I am a master of my craft! Ordinary navigators, shipwrights, engineers and craftsmen pale in comparison to me!" she said standing up and puffing her chest with pride. At that point she even overlooked the fact that she was still naked. However, it did not look like the man was eyeing her with ulterior motives either. So perhaps Samantha thinking of him as a pervert and deviant might have been too much. That alone seemed to make her understand that she was not in that kind of danger. Next, when he said that she owed him, she guessed that he would make her pay for the favor of sparing her and the food she ate with her services. If it was just that, she could see an opportunity there. His words, hoping that she would be handy with a pistol were left unanswered as she didn't feel like telling him what she could actually do yet. Once he left, having told her that they were at Toroa and he would explain his plan, she got dressed and carried the pistol with her. The rusty water cup, now empty, trailed after her since she forgot it. Once it reached her hand, she grabbed it and continued to walk upstairs towards the upper deck.

Unaware of what waited for her in the future, Sam gave priority to making herself useful since the man she was following was now her benefactor, or something like that. She was not that good of a person to condemn piracy so, if he was a pirate, she would end up helping him anyway. It did not interfere with her ultimate goal. If he was a Marine or something else, nothing would change. The only thing Sam really cared about was having three meals a day and time to work on her inventions. Well, and money to fund her work, obviously. Even so, as she walked upstairs, her bad habit almost kicked in. Holding a gun for the first time in her life, she thought of disassembling it. However, she did not know what the man would think of that. It could be troublesome if she ended up reducing its efficacy or accuracy due to such tinkering. Since she was also clumsy, she chose to unload the gun, something she knew how to do from seeing other people doing it in front of her before. That way she could avoid accidental fire, something that could happen even with guns that had safety pins.
