He had managed to get his ship fixed, but he was still unhappy. Still quiet, ever so quiet in all of his travels. Registering for this dumb race was a pain too, mostly because he had nothing to do, and keeping his money up would let him eat. Risking putting other people in danger wasn't really his style, though he was the endangered species here right. Such a high bounty, no doubt he felt the eyes upon him. The eyes of those who would have such a large sum of money. He could feel them on him, on a ship he was piloting alone. It was dangerous wasn't it? But he had rigged the sails to work as he needed them to. Unsafe as it was for him to be out in the open. He could see the greedy eyes on him long before the race started. His teeth would clench harder and his eyes gleamed over with a thin film of water. However, he remained seated next to Helm awaiting the beginning of the race. He would clear this up quickly, he had to leave this row anyway. His best chance right now was Bael, and whatever this meeting in Alabasta was for Shio.

He stood up and turned his helm, pulling on the ropes that lingered near it to let the sails drop down. They wafted a bit, stalling before they could properly catch a bit of wind. Slowly the boards of the boat would creak to life and begin to pull. Ships were already moving to the starting line. He made his way slowly over to the anchor he had to reel up. Slowly but surely the ship would release its breath. The smallest bit of air within the ship would pull it forward. He would remain facing the rocky shoreline as the ship would go forward toward the beginning of the race. Again, he was still silent, and kind of overwhelmed. It was a really bad feeling, like the world was picking on him. Even as he had made the decision to fight it to save the family he had recently thrown away. He wasn't that person, he was a good person, and he believed what he told Shio. That good people didn't abandon one another. He just had a lot more obstacles to get through, so one step at a time he would do just that. ". . ." His mouth opened and he mouthed something as his ship creaked against a larger one in front of it. The Captain shouted something Riven wasn't interested in hearing. Water fell around Riven's body, no one was sure why. No one here in this place was good enough to have seen him move. His eyes slowly rose upward to the sight of the fallen Captain, and the area under him crumbling from some kind of heavy impact. Riven spun his helm, his ship groaned and turned away taking with it a portion of the larger ship in front of him. Bits of board and splinters dropped into the water below, the ship following after it as Riven drifted by. If he was going to get stronger, he definitely had to surpass what was set up for him here.

Three ... Two .. One ... Bang! The gun shot off and the engines were revving. He could hear the waves come to life, the wind flooding the sails, and without a moments notice. Riven's unmanned boat would be sent rushing down the pathway, clearly in last place. It was slow, it was sporadic. It was- wait ... Unmanned?! Yes, there was at the moment, no one aboard Riven's ship. Alas, the one nearest his in placement would be taken by the waves. Sinking, and then another. Yet another. Like fireworks they would burst one after another. For a moment, a brevity, between the crashing waves of arsenal of wood one would see the spirit of water dancing upon the waves. White haired, and stricken with ferocity. Alas, as soon as one would see it, he would be gone once more. Blazing a path that was predetermined, to destroy every ship in this god forsaken race. When it was done, he had returned to his helm, he stood there, arms within the folds of his robe. It was a little chilly in here. He spun the wheel, and with it came the abrupt turning of the ship. He would sail back to the shore he had come from. With a flick, he tossed down one of the many copies of his wanted poster. Collect his winnings, and go. Seeing as it was now impossible for anyone else to complete the race.

                                                                        775/750
