Ok, why after thousands of threads like this all over the internet, and millions of posts. Hundreds of millions of posts. Why has nobody managed to set a prescedent as to whether the band goes before the track, or whether the track goes before the band?

EDIT: I always put the band before the track, because it makes good sense to go from the more general to the more narrow. Explain yourselves, dissenters!

I've been party to similar debates and the argument resulted in "Band Name - Song Name". *shrug* That's what I always did anyway...
