[Discussion] parent's reaction when they saw you liked Yaoi?

okay, my mom found out when she was going on the computer and I was in the shower. when I got out of the shower she yelled at me to come to the computer. I did. heres the conversation:
mom: what is this crimson spell stuff?
me:....uh
mom: whats yoai?
me: uh...
mom: *openes up my crimson spell folder and happens to open up a part where hal and demon val are having sex.*.....
me: yoai is gay guys mom.
mom: its gay porn.
me: okay then I like gay porn.
mom: not in this house.
me: erm....
mom: well you won't be buying it, just lock the folder so that I don't lose my eyes verginity again.
me: um, okay.
mom: * calls her couison * terresa, I need a drink, you making?
me: xd

my mom is cool with it, as long as I don't mention it. my dad doesn't know, actually he could care less in what I like.

Well, I was watching Gravitation(thankfully in Japanese), and my mom comes in when they're sucking each other's brains out through the mouth.
Mom: That pink haired one a girl?
Me: Umm, duh? You ever seen a short, big sparkly-eyed, pink-haired guy? Shuichi's a Japanese girl, mom. (sweating nervously but managed to talk in a calm, brain-dead manner as television dictates we should)
Mom: Oh, alright.

And then we went to the bookstore once, and I snatched Selfish Love volume 2(mind you, it's wrapped up and mighty suspicious to any parent), and just as I'm paying for it, my mom asks, "Why's it wrapped up?"
Me: The swearing content, mom! Blood and gore! Bookstore peoples don't want to be sued because some little kid got into an older teen's book!
Mom: *raises eyebrow* Okay then..

All my yaoi manga are hidden in plain sight, so to speak. All my yaoi are in my bookshelf in alphabetical order, yaoi or not, 'cause my mom doesn't raid my bookshelf like she raids everything else. sweatdrop

My grandparents... I don't know. I just told them one day when they asked what my manga was about. Neither of them complained, or said anything about it afterwards. They both also know I'm going out with S e r i t h.

My mom (whom I don't live with) used to hang out with me once a week (not since she got a new boyfriend... rolleyes ) and used to browse through my manga with me to have a look at the pictures. She told me that her favourite manga out of my collection is Gravitation (which I am now selling... it's better in anime-form, Gravi is...). And she saw some of the heavily implied smut that was in there. Though I have dirtier than that... *shifty eyes*

My grandparents also read the short stories I write, and the chapters as I finish them for one of my 2 longer stories, which include some shounen-ai, though I would never let them read all-out yaoi that I write. That would be for S e r i t h's eyes only.

My mom didn't know abotu Yaoi for a very long time so I started buying more hardcore yaoi until my sister got mad at me one day and told my mom that there was a strange picture of two guys in one of my mangas. Needless to say my mon went running to check and found the guys doing it. She was livid and almost had a heart attack. Now my yaoi mangas are hidden away from my mom so she can't throw them away and I have to have my friends buy me new ones so she doesn't know. She's very religious so imagine her absolutely horrified face. It was acutualy quite funny.

My parents don't know...and I plan to keep it that way! I don't even TRY to hide it! I was watching Gravitation on the computer and Yuki and Shuichi were making out...and NOTHING! My mom was just watching it! (I think they think all feminine anime guyz are girls sweatdrop ) Lucky for me I guess! 3nodding biggrin

My mom found an issue of Gravitation laying around a long time ago, read it, and asked to borrow the other issues. Now she steals my BL manga whenever she can. I draw the line at lending more serious yaoi though - sharing porn is just plain weird. xp

My parents don't know about it and I'm not going to let them find out because they'll flip and put me in a mental institute.. or try to. I did almost get caught once when I had a gravitation picture on the screen and my mom walked it. I quickly exited out and opened up a window playing it off, luckly she didn't catch anything.

Everyone knows about my love of yaoi.

My mom just shrugs and reminds me every once in a while not to let my brother on my computer.

My brother looks at my stuff, says eww, walks away, comes back a few minutes later and starts looking again. Weird... >.>;

My grandpa just refuses to look anywhere in the general direction of my computer due to my screensaver, desktop pic, and usually the music playing all having something to do with BL.

My friends don't care. Hell, more than half of them like it as well.

My teachers? I have a feeling that they know, but choose not to dwell on it as to save their sanity.

I'm a real fan, but I don't think they'll really appreciate it.

So, to keep them from having heart attacks, I only read Yaoi-manga when they're not in the same room as me. ^^;;
