Mercutio/Romeo=OTP Obviously. But really, Shakespeare's plays are just brimming with young, lively men in tights with overactive hormones. I love it whee Thank you, Shakie!

[Ryoga-chan] Hmm, I've unintentionally slashed Mercutio with Benvolio. xp Damn imagination. A similar thing happened to me. And of course, in the old movie version of Romeo and Juliet, I was nearly banging my head on the table at the scene before the party when Romeo was trying to calm Mercutio down. It was very much a "Please let no-one look over at me and notice I'm blushing in a mad fangirl way." Is there any fanfic? I wonder...

Fleance x Macbeth? If only Macbeth hadn't died. They're both pretty devious. The three witches said that Fleance would become king, but in the play, he didn't. You could just tell at the ending that he was going to do something evil to become king.

*raises hand* I ship Mercutio/Benvolio and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Or just about any pairing with Mercutio in. I've always loved him so, and his story is tragic, so I like to see him experiencing some happiness despite the fact that he feels the need to entertain others at his own expense.
I read an absolutely beautiful fic about Merc. and Benv. once actually but I can't seem to find it right now. Mercutio was writing names in the sand while Benvolio was buried in a book, and when Benvolio finally looked up Mercutio had been tracing his (B's) name in the sand for several minutes. Then, 'lo and behold, slash happens!

I was dissapointed with how he looked in the old movie version of Romeo and Juliet.

Lady Gyrfalcon I was dissapointed with how he looked in the old movie version of Romeo and Juliet. Really? I thought John was the perfect Mercutio. confused Sure, he's no heart-throb, but he has so much character! Definitely the best Mercutio that I've ever had the good fortune of seeing portrayed.

A shame. xd I'm not into physical appearance like that, the fact that he looked a bit birdish and too old to be Romeo's friend didn't even occur to me until someone pointed it out.

I'm going to be in Hamlet soon (as a background person with no lines, yay) and while reading it, I'm sorry but Hamlet/Horatio. Hell, Horatio/everyone.
I love Horatio. D:
Luckily, all the lead males in the school play are quite lovely eye-candy. redface

I have to get the old version of the movie to show my friend who is studying Romeo and Juliet now. Then we can both bang our heads off the table at the part before the party. XD The new movie... Does strange things to my brain. Modern, but with Shakespearian English! O.o

A tidbit: A good bit of Shakespeare's sonnets were written to a young man, it's believed. That caused a rather large giggling and wtfing fit a few years back in English class. xd

Speaking completely...
Haha, yeah, those are the Self Made Hero manga versions of the Shakespeare plays, I believe. 3nodding
I'd hear that before, actually. I, being the lazy bad thing that I am, have not bothered to look into it though.
...Different languages.
