Tariq isn't quite sure what he's doing here, precisely. He'd gotten the invitation and, assuming everyone had gotten one, hadn't given it another thought. It isn't like anyone would invite him personally. But then he'd caught word around Telrunya City that not everyone had gotten an invitation, so he felt like he should honor Venus' desire for him to be there, whatever that might be. So he'd RSVP'd, visited one of the clothiers in the city, and gotten himself a nice suit. Black, as is traditional, with a brown-and-gold striped handkerchief in the pocket. Perhaps he'd find a date at the party, or he'd be just as happy people-watching.
Upon arriving at the party, Tariq scans the room. Most Pae were arriving arm-in-arm with a date, others met up with friends or lovers there. He can't help but smile; such happiness. And then he spots her. A beautiful Faerie with gauzy, lace-like wings and an elegant dress. Smiling, he steps up to her and bows a little. "Good evening," he says. "Are you waiting for someone?"

Parvana had found a gauzy periwinkle-colored dress that floated around her like a cloud to wear for the ball. She'd tucked her hair up into a fancy bun, but she notices with a grimace that some of her curls are already starting to come loose. "At this rate by the end of the night I might as well not have done anything," she grumbles, but with a smile. It's hard to be unhappy on Valentine's Day!
Although she is a little nervous about her date, Aldis. She'd only just met him a few weeks ago. Neither of them had wanted to attend the ball alone, so they'd agreed to come together. They didn't really know each other or anything. She searches for him, then smiles as she spots him, practically floating over to him. "Hi," she says, blushing a little. "Have you been waiting long? Sorry I'm a bit late...you know how it is with us girls, sometimes it takes forever to get ready!"

o0_Daisuke_0o Blushing lightly, Twinkleshine realized that she had been standing in the wrong place the entire time. Man, being new to an area really does things to mess up one's sense of direction! Brushing her bangs and picking up the ends of her dress, she quickly ran the other way, towards the other couple she saw walking together.
Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap! Just her luck! Trying to smile through her puffed breaths, she raised an arm to wave at Atlantis as he fell into her vision. He didn't actually look -too- silly with his long hair pulled back like that. She wondered if it was actually longer than her own as she neared, slowing down and catching her breath. "H-hey...!" She waved again. "How... long have you b-been wait...ting?"
"Not long, but you do look radiant" he said handing her the red rose "that dress looks beautiful on you" he said sincerely as he offered her his arm "I apologize again for any embarrassing moments that may happen, I am not one for dancing and basically mingling at all" he said a little sheepishly, this was the first social event he had ever been to, he just hoped he made it out alive.

Lillison smiled shyly when she saw Lugh across the crowds. There was so many pae here, the naiad was starting to get worried that she would be swallowed into the sea of pae. "I'm glad I came too," she laughed a little bit, "I think." She was thrilled when he took her arm, while she didn't need the physical stability anymore, it gave her a nice confidence boost to have a pae at her arm, Lillison blushed, but she was happy. Lillison had enjoyed Lugh's company, he had been easy to get along with, and with his interest in a topic she knew little about, there was plenty to learn and do. Now they were at a party though, what were they supposed to do. Normally she would go straight to the drink table, but now she had someone with her. "I don't know if I will be very good at dancing." she admitted. "Its a lot easier to dance in the water."
Terran's green eyes started glowing when he spotted a bright pink pae in a beautiful dress. Together, they were gorgeous, the pae looked like she could be a princess, although Terran knew that wasn't the likely case. Living in Laisidhiel, it was not often that he saw pae with such bright coloring. Either way, it was hard not to see this lady, even with as many pae that were around. He watched her for a moment, before realizing that was kind of creepy, but that was how Terran operated, he was very observant. It didn't take someone observant to notice the sigh she brought in with her, compared to the mostly smiling faces of other guests. The faun took a deep breath, trying to muster some courage. He walked over to her, "Hey... I couldn't help but notice you seemed..." he wasn't sure what to say, maybe he should have rehearsed this first. "sad... is everything alright?" Terran asked the pae. "Ma'am." he added to the sentence as a formal afterthought.
Dysmas froze, he could feel eyes on him. Or maybe it was his imagination. He was so self conscious of his appearance, a typical teen, that he could easily be imagining something like that at the party. Dysmas slowly looked around, tugging at his bow tie again, it was starting to feel tight. He tried to tuck in his wings even closer to his back. As he looked around he noticed a green...pae... staring at him. Dysmas loosened up now that he had found who was staring, but his pink face did redden a little. As he returned the stare he noticed that she was probably close to his age, the water angel smiled. Alright, now he had to just play it cool, he could do that. Should he walk up to her, what if she made fun of him, what if she asked questions. Dysmas looked down at the ground as he pondered these things, but then his dad came into his mind, his dad was cool and could talk to girls, or at least his mom. Ok, here goes nothing. Dysmas walked up to the... ok, he was fairly certain she was a demon... "Uhm, hi." Oh yes, way to play it cool. "I think we're the youngest pae here," Dysmas laughed hesitantly. He should have asked his dad how to talk to girls before he came to the party.
The bathroom? But there wasn't candy in the bathroom. Twizzz frowned, why couldn't Yipes' friends hang out with candy? Twizzz cheered up when the bathrooms were apparently at the food tables. He really hoped that Yipes didn't have to go... "Oh yes, that totally makes sense." Now that they were in the party Twizzz looked around some more, male and female pae alike some being happy and couple-y. He sighed dramatically, wishing he could experience something like that, but he was so confused about it all. He looked at Yipes, there was no way he was going to meet anyone if Yipes was following him around, and he couldn't ditch the pae. He wondered for a moment if Yipes would make a good wingman, it was certainly a possibility. Oh well, back to the quest at hand. "Hmmm... this does look dark and quiet..." Twizzz looked up and down the table for a candy bowl. "Do you see them?" Twizzz asked, trying to buy himself more time to look.

"You look great," says Elizabeth reassuringly, with a smile. "Everything looks so...." she lacks the words. She'd been trying to think more positively lately. Sodóka's suggestion. "Pink," she finishes with a nod.
She feels so silly in this dress. The only fancy dress she and Amapola had had between them was an old red strapless ballgown of Amapola's. It was definitely out of fashion, and covered in silver sparkles. Luckily her sister, ever the clever seamstress, had classed it up a bit by adding a black ribbon that covered the neckline, then crossed just under her bust and coming to a plump bow just above her rear. She'd also simplified the hem a bit, so instead of a wavy hem it was just straight and simple. Elizabeth had plucked a red rose from her garden and garnished it with some of the same ribbon Amapola had used on the dress, then tied it to Xanthea's wrist when she'd come over.
She smiles again. She'd never thought she'd be having this much fun with someone else. She'd been too solitary for too long, she realizes. The red and blue of their dresses compliment each other nicely, the dark and the bright a reverse mirror of their own coloring. "So, what first?" She asks. "Food, punch, or dancing?" Elizabeth chuckles a little.

Twinkleshine laughed lightly, fixing her slightly disheveled hair back to how it originally was before taking the rose and smelling it. "Oh, it's so pretty~ Thank you" Reaching up, she wove it into her hair, its red colors blending nicely with the pink of it. After a moment more, just enough to finally catch her breath, she nodded once, taking his arm and looking to the doors. "Don't worry, it'll be a blast! I just know it!"
Celestia waited just outside of the dance room, waving lightly to the faunies as they passed her by, entering. Looking to the stars, she wondered if her sister felt more at home at this very moment, and if she had already entered with her own escort, while she waited for hers. Would he arrive soon? If no, all was not lost; she would simply seek out the company of the other faun who had kept her company, whom she knew would be here.

Disguised at the moment as a pale grey pegasus stallion with dark hair, the Queen of the Changlings watched the party guests arrive, two by two for the most part, with a straggling single here and there. Those weren't the ones she watched though. She watched the couples over a glass of punch, sharp eyes studying the looks, the faces, the body language.
She could tell which ones were involved, which ones were strangers, or just met. She could tell which ones would provide the best meal.
To be quite honest, for the first time that she could remember, she was having trouble choosing a target. This whole place seemed to be made of love! It was intoxicating, and she'd felt light-headed ever since she'd found her way to this odd temple. The beings inside may as well have been made of love! She wasn't sure she even needed to pick a target; she could just spend the evening here, silently soaking up the feelings of love and devotion like a sponge. She could be a complete glutton, and with this many about, they'd never even notice.
She'd found paradise.
Still, one had to keep playing the game, else one's skills deteriorate. Couldn't have that now...

Zoran ran as fast as his barely-used legs could carry him. He'd changed his mind a dozen times as to whether or not he was really going to show up. With all the trouble at the palace with dad and the Queen missing, them refusing to let him join the search parties, and then the fact that this was his first real date ... he was a mess. His mom told him to just go about his business to not worry anyone, and to enjoy his first date.
So that's what he was going to do.
Being a Naiad, clothing was the last thing on his mind. So to spiff himself up, he put on a few adornments, decorations, and a sash. He combed his hair once he got out of the lake so it wouldn't be a frizzy mess once it dried. He so badly needed to impress his date. He also so badly hoped there was a way to get wet at this party or he'd have one heck of a time getting home.
He slid through the entrance of the Temple trying to stop himself. Running was tricky for him. Panting, he leaned over with one hand on his knee so he could rest and tried to find Fraise. Please don't let some other guy have snatched her up...
He seen her, not far away and stood up straight, dusted his sash and ran his fingers through his hair. He breathed into his hand to make sure his breath didn't smell like lunch and then took a few long strides towards her. He held in his hand the flower his mom helped him pick out before the chaos erupted at the palace: a single pink carnation. "Th-this is for you," he said, nervously.

Hoity Toity meandered in, glancing around beneath his shades at all the couples, and even some singles, about for the event. Valentines, they seemed to call it here. Apparently it wasn't much different than hearts and hoooves day.... well ok it was a lot different but the general meanings where still there. With an over dramatic sigh, he fixed the collar of his tux and glanced around for Lust. Truth be told, if it wasn't for his reputation being at stake, he probably wouldn't have even come tonight. If his date's name was any clue as to how the nights events turned out..... well he didn't even want to think about it. However, it didn't take ihm long to find the girl he had agreed to chaperone to the dance. Rather, it hadn't taken him long to spot the dress he so diligently designed (and had Rarity make). A stiff proud grin tickled the corner of his lips as he struted over, holding out his hand to her, his thick american accent almost dripping off every syllable. "My deear, you look paoooositively divine. Whoever crafted that dress of yours is quite brilliant, I must saaay." he said as he lifted his shades up to rest professional in his mane and gave her a charming smile.
Luna strutted in, a frown plastered to her face as she glanced around the room at all the others. She put her hands to her hips, the long sleeves of her dress dangling down at her sides as she flicked her hair over her shoulder. She adjusted her crown slightly before flicking her wings and reaching back to grasp on to someone and drag them into the room. "STALLION JUSTMO!" she shouted loudly and yanking him forward, snorting at a few other pae who glanced at her strangely before turning back to the faun that was to be her date. Why she was even here..... she was still unsure. She only felt silly in her dress but insisted at the same time that if she were to attend a fancy gathering, she must look the part. "What are we to do at these festivities you have so graciously offered to attend with me? I demand to experience this thing called fun!" she said, her voice still a touch loud with an heir of royalty to it.
Cadence wandered in, her arms wrapped around Shining Armor's one. Her mane and tail flowed gently and gracefully behind her as she stepped neatly so as to not mess up her gown. Rarity had insisted upon making her one and she simply could not refuse. The unicorn had seemed so excited to do at least that much when she had no date to attend the party with herself, so Cadence happily agreed. All the beautifully dressed girls, the handsome males, all the smiles made her beam. What made her smile even more perhaps, was the fact that there were so many other races about that they had never seen back in Equestria. "Oh Shining Armor, isn't it grand? It's almost as if since we came here... we've had so much time to spend as a couple." she cooed delightfully to him. She could only hope he was as excited as she was. Even still he focused so hard upon his duties that he rarely gave himself time for fun.
