Avalissa and Mikail knew it wasn't her nor Eirian's fault; after all, ten years had passed, and the Starbolt still felt empty without Illyana around. Once again, the Russian did have a point- maybe it was how Eirian felt during the year that she had been on the ship, that Avalissa wanted to replace Illyana as the girl's mother. Notwithstanding the fact that the Captain would never attempt such a thing, but she understood how Eirian felt. After all, her own mother had been missing since she was a child, and to this day had not been found; Avalissa would have had a difficult time adjusting if her own father married another woman.
Her pacing was stopped once Mikail's hands were on her shoulders, leading her to look up at him as he spoke to her once again, asking if Eirian had visited Officer Ivanov or the psychiatrist yet. "I... have not inquired yet," she confessed, though it gave her another objective. "I hope Ivanov does not mind an unscheduled visit from me."

Frankly - and believe me, I say this without any pretense - when I see the road I've taken, I have to say that thanks to good luck, because without good luck one can do nothing, I've come out pretty well.
__________________________________________________ Ganya chose to reply with an unwilling smirk, which quickly yielded to her usual expression. The sarcasm seemed a normal part of speaking to Eirian, overlooking it wasn't difficult any more. Finishing the preparations, she walked over to the two. Good start; let's see how long it lasts. She glanced at the android before returning to Eirian. There was no denying the resemblance between mother and daughter, but it just about ended at physical similarities. Well, there was that stubbornness... A brief memory managed to replay its self before she locked it away again; there was no call for it. "So what are you doing here? Just visiting?" She had suspicions that it had something to do with Reinhaldt. Ganya wasn't entirely sure what the problem was between the two, and she honestly didn't want to find out. I've got my own issues to deal with.

__________________________________________________ "Well, good you're doing it now, because I've got a feeling that it's not going to be a long wait for long-term inmates." She remembered the dysentery outbreak earlier that year; Most of it had been relatively mild, but those that weren't... It had been a test. "Unless something feels funny, you're probably fine." She scanned Eirian quickly, well aware that it was a somewhat serious request despite the sarcastic tone. She was relieved, somewhere in her mind, that the daughter did not try to hide perfectly treatable conditions.

The question of morality is a slippery one... 🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰 He detected a specific tone, one he had heard every once in a while. He had once heard it termed "sarcasm," but all he had was the tone and the dictionary definition. Why then, was the medical officer responding seriously? He puzzled himself over it for a time, sifting through the mountains of data planted in his head, as well as what he himself had picked up. Half of this probably shouldn't be here. He felt that if it were possible, it would have been socially expected for him to blush. But it was useful all the same, and so it stayed. Finding no answer, he took special attention, picking up every detail he could. He would have to catalogue it and sort it out, but it would certainly come in handy later. Especially since the torit seemed to use it so much. ⭓ 🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰🀰 I couldn't tell you what “wrong” or “right” are, because I don't know.

But the beginning of things, of a world especially, is necessarily vague, tangled, chaotic, and exceedingly disturbing.
David, cool indifference echoing in his step, continued to wander. There was little need for him here, and little use for his faculties. So why was he here? Well, the Harbinger episode had quickly called for a hasty departure. And with nothing new to look into after all of this, he was stuck on a ship. He'd much rather be stuck in London, surrounded by near death situations! At least there, he could use his skills, keep his wits sharp. Hell, he'd even go back to Tanu- no, decidedly not that far. It had been a daunting place to be born, and it only got worse as wars broke out worldwide. The only option had been to run. Why hadn't he run? Why? Why did he stay back and fight it? He regretted it sorely, the only good to come of it was meeting Ivanov, and that was a small good, especially compared to everything else... He still had the scars, the overwhelming pain was still fresh in his mind. But then, fleeing to Earth was not much better. They had followed him, and only by his very best efforts had he escaped. Ganya still wondered how he had done it, but she had no idea of the price he had paid for the escape.

As she closed her eyes, Avalissa smiled warmly from the kiss on her cheek. The handsome Russian was irresistibly charming as always...at first glance, it would be difficult to imagine that this very man who was currently being quite the romantic was also the very same fearsome Captain of the Infernalis Canis Corps. Then again, he was currently off duty, and so was Reinhalt.
"Very well... I'll grant your request, Mika," Avalissa smiled, reaching up and stroking the small amount of hair lining his jaw. "Might I have permission to wear something more suitable for dinner?" If she was going to act more like herself and less than just Captain of the Starbolt, Avalissa preferred to dress to suit that particular mood.

►"Avalissa, Ivanov practically expects unexpected visits." Or at least she should by now...
"As if I could tell you no." Mikail's smile softened as she touched his jaw. Really, it might actually pain him to do so anymore. Her happiness mattered to him. "You change, I shall begin that surprise dinner." Few knew he could cook, but those who did had long since admitted he was a master of it. The Infernalis Captain kissed one last small kiss to Avalissa's cheek before giving her a playful look and heading off to the kitchen that had been renovated into Lissa's apartments specifically because the cook on the Excalibur hated sharing his title, much less his kitchen, with anyone.
Absently the Russian began to whistle a bar tune beneath his breath, pulling out the ingredients needed for dinner. It was generally when cooking that he lost his tension, that or when around Lissa. As he was doing both at the moment...well Mikail was in a pretty good mood. ◄

You aught to be getting more sleep, you're not meant to run on a human schedule. But she knew she wouldn't be able to bring herself to do it. Her natural sleep schedule was something she hadn't even thought about since she was ten... "What did you do, stick gum in your ear?" Eirian, as usual, was in good health. "Well, that would explain a lot..."

The skin on Avalissa's face warmed as Mikail kissed her on the cheek again, warming even more as he shot her a playful look and departed the office. As for the Captain herself, her dark blue eyes were bright and a beaming smile was on her lips as she began clearing up the papers on her desk, filing them in the proper folders before locking the drawers shut. Afterwards, Avalissa glanced around the office once more before exiting the room, locking it before she departed to her own apartments... where Mikail was also located.
Her ears twitched at the sounds of cookware within the kitchen as she stepped inside the room. Avalissa chuckled to herself; she had long since bantered that her reason for installing the kitchen was to have Mikail's cooking all to herself. Actually, she had installed the kitchen to practice her culinary skills... and anyone who had known Avalissa since her enlistment to the original Excalibur knew full well that the Captain was better off at commanding the ship than she was at making a single decent- and edible- meal. Thankfully, Eirian never had the opportunity to witness any of Avalissa's culinary mishaps, and thankfully, Mikail was a culinary master.
Avalissa entered into her bedroom, closing the door before heading into her closet. Of course, Eirian thought she was a complete oddball for wearing Earth outfits that would have been in style nearly 500 years ago; yet the Thracorian herself liked them. After all, Mikail didn't seem to mind. She scanned through the various dresses and suits to find something that might please Mikail. Purple... no, I donned that garment the other night... I wore blue the night before then... I shall select the green one this time.
After a fifteen minute change, Avalissa entered the dining area in her new suit, and with her slightly longer hair still loose. As her boots clicked against the hardwood flooring, she deeply inhaled the alluring scent emanating from the kitchen. Oh, how tempting it was to tiptoe to the kitchen and sneak a peek at what the Infernalis Captain was cooking... but she had agreed to be surprised this time.

► Pausing in his whistling, Mikail looked over his shoulder and gave her a slow smile. He loved her in that color, well truth be told, he loved her in any color. "You look lovely, Lissa." he murmured, eyes twinkling. Turning back to the counter, he began to work at the shrimp, humming again.
After a moment or two he had the sauce ready, scampi nearly done, and was turning to Lissa with a wooden spoon. "Taste please," Mikail ordered, grinning a bit. ◄
