I heart Von Carstein Vampires!

They are awesome, but I Love the Necharch Extra Zombies abilities.

Necharch is tough, a 30" Curse Of Years, is powerful, plus the ability to have a WS6 Level 4 Wizard that is very enhanced.

Hide the Necromancer and Vampire behind a Rock, and Keep Making Zombie walls, and then Move some foward, and they will eventually wipe out the enemy, if you Keep your Generals Safe.

I hate vampire counts as long as you can kill the necromancer they crumble, which is a disadvantage to my fave amry aswell tomb kings, but vampire counts dont have things like bone giants ushabti or the unstoppable tomb scorpion, which by the way would rip a vampire count to pieces all it needs is a 6 to wound and at 85 points thats very very good. Vampire counts do get bloodlines which are good though but still the rest of the army is crap and they have to rely on vampire counts to win anything...

Has anyone tried the Sylvania Army list from Storm of Chaos? Is it any good?

Tomb Kings eh? I don't know much about them all I know is that their magic phase is supposed to be kind of weird. Tomb Scorpian, not a huge threat, a Winged Nightmare could easily ruin one of those.

Are you responding to my post? If you are, I wasn't talking about Tomb Kings, I was talking about the Sylvanian "Militia" army list in Storm of Chaos.

I've been trying to defeat a friend of mine for a long while. We almost always play Warbands, and my Vampire Count Warbands have been unable to defeat the High Elves. Any suggestions that people have who have lots of elf killing experience? xd

I'm going to start a Lahmian army and was wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are of using them. Also, I'm new to fantasy ( my only model is a Wraith), and i was wondering what you need to make an army? (example: You need 1 HQ and 2 Troops for 40k. Whats needed for Fantasy?)

You need at least two core units. So for Vampire Counts thats either a unit of zombies, skeletons, dire wolves, or ghouls. You also will need a better character than a Wraith. Sure causing terror and being immune to normal attacks is awesome... but really any character with even the most basic of magic weapons has a good chance of wounding the wraith, that can only take 50pts of magical equipment. So either have a ward save, probably the obsidian amulet for 45pts, or take some other stuff, like magical armour. I'd suggest getting a necromancer next, and then decide which bloodline you want.

Hiya, Jerhien here to answer all your Vampire Counts questions!!!

Ok well I'm not THAT much of a blowhard, but I've been playing the VC for a few years and I can help you guys out.

The Blood Dragons Bloodline is awesome if you want isanely powerful Close Combat characters (Read--You're leaders will hand Khorne Lords their asses on silver platters with neat little napkins and a thank you note.) and if you play the list out of the back of the book you can use the almighty lance formation of the brettoni! Black Knights can lay down some serious hurt.

The Necrarchs are very strong with necromantic magics, and (I think this is the coolest part) can take unridden zombie dragons!!!! And all their characters can ride winged nightmares. I personally play this list.

The Lahmians are a deceptively powerful lot, and most of their abilities revolve around making the enemy strike last or beguiling and distratcting. They can only take skeletons though (which are a LOT easier to paint I might add!) so be aware of that before you start playing there specialist list.
Coolest thing about there list (again in my opinion) is that you can take any hero choice from any army book as vampire thralls!!!! I'm not sure but I think you can also take magic items, etc from the characters list as well. I used to run a 2k army of these lovely ladies with an High Elven B.standard bearer with the battle standard (+d6 combat res!!) in a unit of wights with a Aspiring champion of Tzeench and a Saurus oldblood...yep, got a lot of WTF!?!? (note--I used mostly wights so no necromancers wasn't too much of an issue)

The Von carstiens list is cool, multiple black coaches! (that's really all I recall) but the Storm of Chaos Militia list is really cool too, with ninja zombie markers. Unfortunately, the list is really hard to play with competitively, which is no problem for some people.

Strigoi are beastie. Favor an army of ghouls and beasties? These are the boys for you, with something like 5 wounds and t-6 (I think) for the lord levels.

I was going to take up Luthor Hawkings Vampire Pirates army. Its not a bad list with a bunch of good magic items, Zombies with black powder wepons(from the pistol to the Queen Anne Bess(over sized great cannon)) & other little goodies(Like being Aquatic).
