The brunet was completely relaxed, having already been too far gone. In hindsight, it was probably not a good idea to just stand aside and let the man enter, but he was far too gone to do anything about the matter. Cody stirred as gravity gave way, his thin glasses falling down to settle atop his stomach where they stayed during the journey upstairs. His face was completely relaxed, giving way from the stern older looking features he had so often harbored during their chance meetings. Instead, he looked his own age or younger, the lack of frowning lines on his face giving him a serene outlook. When they began to move, his head slumped, warm even breaths puffing lightly against the chest he pressed against. The guest room was a dark teal green, empty save for a nightstand, the bed, and a bureau for extra clothes that had never been used. His own room was a deep ocean blue, calming and gentle, but just as plain as the rest of the house. Thanks to a cleaning lady, his things werent scattered about, everything in its' place, hung up on hooks and the like. A large bookcase held near to bursting many books, all of them well loved. It gave room to wonder when the man had any time to read, out at work as often as he was. But the good doctor was a slight insomniac, worrying over prolonging cases. Sometimes he would end up waking in the middle of the night, turning to a book to try and lull his heavy mind.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger My bad for assuming he basically lived in one large room.... just forget I said anything to that affect in my last post smile The only reason that Maion guessed the blue room as Cody's was because of the bookcase.... there were a lot of them, made him wonder why more bookcases hadn't be purchased to help spread the load; but that didn't seem important. Doing his best to pull back the cover without jolting Cody too much he turned to his side and maneuvered as best as he could.... which was probably far from well. Satisfied the cover was low enough he carefully placed the sleeping form of Cody upon the bed and pulled the cover back. Part of his mind had whispered that he should get Cody ready for bed... but he was sure the guy would yell and accuse him of harassment or being a pervert or something. Which wasn't exactly how you wanted to spend the start of your time together. He paused, only just noticing the lump that was Cody's glasses tucked in the cover, not thinking he reached for them, running his fingers gently across the guy's chest before clasping them around the warmed framed. Bringing them back out he set them next to the bed and looked at his hand. Nothing had changed, as far as he could see, but he seemed be hyper aware of every contact he made with the doctor... why? Confusion furrowed his brow as he looked down at Cody. He looked... beautiful. Sleep suited him. In this state he was far from the worried, screaming, arrogant man that he was in his waking hours... and it was nice to see the wrinkles relax and virtually disappear. It made Maion wonder if Cody even knew how attractive he was.... but of course he did, that was how his 'attitude' of dismissing others had come into being; or at least he predicted that was the case. Had someone hurt this man? A possessiveness he hadn't known he even felt washed over him, and in that moment he wanted to seriously maim or kill anyone who had ever hurt this man. Slightly reluctantly, but completely necessary, Maion left the room, closing the door softly so not disturb Cody. He then wandered the house, it was small, plain and seemed as if it was simply a place of shelter rather than a home to be lived in. Just as practical and cold as the man who owned it generally seemed. A yawn slipped through his lips taking him by surprise, he was starting to get get tired himself... and it was only for that reason that he headed towards the spare room. Unaware of the spare clothes not far from the bed he simply stripped off naked and crawled into the bed. It felt... harder... than any bed he had ever been in before, the covers clean but with a light smell of musk. Trying not to think about it he closed his eyes and allowed himself to drift into the realm of dreams..... ....and sure enough, his usual dreamworld formed before him. A sated Cody snuggled into his side. Even in his sleep Maion smiled at the thought.

Syaoran-Puu No worries, I thought I had described it as a two story before. None of his things are cheaply made or hard, as you put it, surely not as hard as a cot out in the fields, but they just look contemporary and plain. Everything is in fact made of good material, Cody's bed especially, as it is the only mild reprieve he gets from his cases. The covers were a bit cooler than his previous perch, causing the brunet to stir once more. But his thorough relaxation forbid him form waking, the doctor merely rolling onto his back in his sleep and nuzzling his pillow. He knew not that there was an onlooker, certainly he would have cared had he known at all. Cody didnt wake until morning, a decent night of rest waking him at seven in the morning with a jolt. Glancing around he made out the wind up clock on his nightstand and panicked, scrambling half sleep blinded to get out of his bed and making matters worse by tangling up his sheets. There was a sudden thud and yelp as he all but fell onto the floor in a heap, quickly trying to sort himself out. He was usually up an hour earlier, now he would have to rush to open the little building, and hope that his little secretary hadnt beaten him there and was out on the stoop in the cold!

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger When I described it as 'hard' I wasn't trying to say it was of poor quality, but rather that it was harder than the bed he was used to. smile Maion woke sometime in the morning to the sound of a yelp and thumping. Am I under attack? Was his first thought as he slide off the mattress, he stalled only long enough to realise he was butt naked, and pulled one of the blankets off the bed to wrap around his lower half before going to investigate the disturbance. He knew it had come from Cody's room, and without knocking he barged in, his eyes scanning the perimeter of the room as he looked for what may have attacked the good doctor. "What is the matter?" He asked, seriousness dripping from his every word, at least before his eyes finally settled on the guy. He was practically twisted in his sheets, his bed hair making him look a little scruffy and unkept... the total opposite to the normal composure Maion had come to expect from the guy. And for reason that made him appeal all the more to Maion. Not wanting to let the guy struggle he made to move towards him, pulling one of the blankets off the floor and back onto the bed. "Did perhaps, a night sprite scare you?" He teased, wondering what could possible have caused such an adorable look to appear on the guys face as he flustered and struggled with the sheets. Standing up once the doctor was free, he placed his hands on his hips, completely oblivious and uncaring to the fact that he was half naked. "Did you sleep well after your massage?" He asked, curiosity overwhelming him.

Syaoran-Puu Oh geez..man bits of glory It took some time for him to recall what had happened last night, until that is, a certain someone barged into the room. Immediately memory flooded his mind, except for the part where he woke up in his bed. How had that happened? "You...you're..." He swallowed thickly, recognizing the pale green blanket from the guest room that covered him from the midriff down. A massage, yes. He could remember the sinfully luxurious feeling those fingers instilled in his screaming back muscles. He must have fallen asleep amidst the massage, succumbing to the numbing feel it gave. Swallowing rather dryly, he stumbled up, patting his hair down from the ritual tufts that happened every other morning or so. What to do, more than that, what to say? The prince of the country was standing in his room, bare save fore his guest room blanket. On instinct his shields came up,turning away to hide the pale rose tint that covered his cheeks hopefully before the man caught it. "No, at least, not as much as you startled me. You stayed the night, I presume? I apologize but I am running late and cannot offer breakfast. I suppose you;; wander back home for a more dignified meal.: He was hurrying about his room, catching up in his morning trends so as to calm himself inside.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger You say things like that and I can't decide if you're a man or not XD..... and no, I don't think that 'military' automatically mean male. "You...you're..." Maion quirked an eyebrow at those words, wondering what on earth had got into the other man. He looked down at himself, wondering if something was wrong.... not able to see anything he simply looked at the man in confusion. What in the world had him acting so strangely? It didn't occur to Maion that it was due to state of undress. Not until the good doctor tried to rush past him, he was almost sure he saw the softest hint of pink upon other pale skin of perfection. He grabbed the guys arm to prevent him from escaping, it was more from reflex than a desire to keep him. Still, he wanted to get something straight with the guy. "You presume correctly. Though I must say you are being extremely rude this morning. Had you not invited me in last night and agreed to give me two days of your time? Why now do you scurry from my presence without awaiting answers to your own questions?" Something about the way the guy was acting intrigued Maion, and he was keen to discover more of the guys weaknesses so he could use them against him... how else would he get the guy to soften towards him in two short days? "As for my breakfast." He started, ignoring any protests the other man may give. "I shall simply raid your cupboards for what I desire. I shall count it as practise for the upcoming battle." He sighed softly, finally releasing his grip so that he could scratch the back of his head, "Fear not. I shall refund you for anything I use."

Syaoran-Puu Ah, you cannot decide? I must be quite the paradox s**t! Yanked back he did a bit of footwork to remain standing, his gaze automatically moving up to meet the deep blues of Maion's own. Swallowing thickly once more, he forced his gaze downward, blaming his late morning for his reactions. "I am unused to strangers in my home. When I agreed, I had thought that would mean you would be dropping by after my time in the surgery, not moving in. Please forgive my rudeness." Slowly the color was fading, replaced by the calm indifferent mask he was so easily used to having around those of the court. This morning and the previous evening, he had been put off balance, unable to hold up his shields at the toppling effect the prince seemed to have. At the mention of his cupboards he flinched. How would Maion react to instant noodle and other canned meals? He lived the life of a bachelor, and worse yet, a previously spoiled one. The brunet had not a single culinary skill to his name...unless you counted boiling things on the stove. Usually he ordered take away, and if not that sometimes his secretary brought leftovers from her large family when she rebuked him for not eating right. Of course he knew that, he was a doctor! But why waste the extra time that could be spent at the surgery? His one stipend were the cherry pastries he'd hidden on the top shelf, thinking not many to be tall enough to se them. "I'll be going now...please make yourelf at home." Now that he was free of the grasp, he quickly escaped.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger Yep smile I originally believed boy... for some reason the way you spoke reminded me of my brother (no idea XD so don't ask) but your squeeeeee and last comment definatly have me leaning towards girl now. Ah well, it makes little difference to me smile I'm just nosy. I'm going to poof for a while, need to go the store. This time Maion let the guy go, not wanting to interfere too much, after all he had agreed that the guy could go to his morning surgery's. "I'll be going now...please make yourself at home." He smiled softly, acting with a nonchalance that had been drilled into him since childhood. "I shall await your return. May your work be ever fruitful this day." With Cory rushing to wherever he hoped to escape, Maion made his way back to the room he had claimed for the time being. Several of the luxuries of home were missing here, no servants to bring him breakfast, no one to warm a bath or bring fresh water for him to wash with.... it was strange for him to fend completely for himself. There wasn't even anyone to bring him a fresh set of clothes, though he had to admit he had always disliked being dressed; feeling more like a doll than a man. He opened the cupboards in the room, noticing several simple outfits. He ran a hand down each, enjoying the soft feel of the material. He paused at one outfit in particular. It was far from the extravagance of some of the outfits he usually wore, but it looked like it would likely fit. Taking it off the hanger he put the garments on, lacing, buttoning and pulling were required. He ran his fingers through his long hair, hoping to get rid of the worst of the tangles before reaching into the pocket of his old clothes for a tie. With nimble hands he plaited the long black mass and tied it in a bow before going downstairs. By the time he made it down Cody was gone, which made Maion feel slightly less guilty for looking through the cupboards... though what he found surprised him. Canned treats and boiling noodles... not a vegetable in sight, at least none that Maion could find. No wonder the guy always seemed tired, did he not realise that eating correctly gave you additional energy? He sighed in defeat as he took out the noodles before staring at the oven... Ok, He though, Now how do I work this thing?" He ran a hand over his chin as he pondered the situation.

Syaoran-Puu Hmm, don't you know? Queer people can be pretty sqwee-mish. It just transfers into my typing. Edit: OMG!!! We lost net for like sooo long. I tried to reply with this right after you responded but it died. I wanted to cry. Hurrying along down the lane, the brunet wished dearly for one of the cherry filled treats he normally had in the mornings. He was a sucker for the fruit, and the bakery was the quickest way to find something with his favorite fruit. But today he would do without, grabbing up a small apple on the way through the market and paying with his small coin purse. The vendor smiled, waving him on as he ate. He needn't have worried, despite the time, Mrs. Fulgrove had yet to fully open up, and no patients were waiting yet for treatment. The older woman was not too old as to be retired to a sitting room knitting, but not young enough to be running around like the vendors and carrying heavy loads. Their was a surplus of these people in the lower city, unable to live in the luxury their noble counterparts settled in. Cody had taken on the woman knowing that it would help bring income to her daughter's large family, and give her a useful feeling. Happily she took the work, and it was wonderful that being a former merchant, she could read and write well. That didn't mean he gave over all of the keys. He kept the keys to the pharmaceuticals and other drugs on his own person. It was far too much to ask of the woman, someone might try to take advantage of her frailty and take it by force. Cody smiled as he approached the front, slowing down at last. She was merely sweeping off the stoop of the one story facility, smiling kindly as she took note of him. He thanked her for waiting, and noticed that she made no mention of his slight disarray. Grateful for it, he took a moment to slip into his long coat and clean up, meditating over the previous evening as he dd so. Maion was staying in his home, most likely going through it at his leisure. It wasnt like there was much to see in the plain home, but hopefully he would stay out of his personal things. He grimaced when that thought crossed his mind. Had he locked his trunk the day before? The small ornate thing in his closet was the only piece of furniture he had taken from home, far less gaudy than the rest of his furnishings, but no less opulent. Within it held the small personal things he could not bare to give up. Pieces of his previous relationship were held upon crushed velvet, A photo, a pair of rings, and letters between the two up until the last that that was so painful. His abrupt goodbye and so agonizing reason. The truth indeed was his father paying the young peasant off and sending him to a countryside barony to take over. Chasing the sad thoughts away with a shake of his head, he moved out to the waiting room, glad to see his first patient waiting. He threw himself into his work, pushing himself so that the time sailed by so immersed as he was.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger True true smile I guess I just don't have many male friends on gaia to compare you with hehee. *shrugs* Awww *pets* that sucks..... >.> may have got carried away <.< It took Maion a little while to figure out the organisational system of the kitchen, but he eventually found a pan and some matches. It took a little experimentation to get the stove to work, but as soon as that spark of light flickered he couldn't help but grin. Not so hard. He thought putting the pan of water and noodles on the hob. A while later it was cooked, at least he hoped it was. It looked edible enough at least. Sipping the cooling mixture, he had to groan. Tasted horrible... but he would make do. Once he was done, Maion cleaned up the kitchen as best he could before sitting on a chair. What should he do now? Leaning his head over the back of the chair he looked up at the ceiling. He hadn't really stopped to think about his plan of attack, what could he do? What should he do? Growling a little from frustration he found his feet taking him for a wander around the house. Yet even as Maion looked in each room, and touched the surface of each piece of furniture he didn't open up any of the draws or doors. Deciding to respect the guys privacy. The problem? His little tour hadn't taken him long. Back in the same chair as earlier, he found himself incredibly bored. He hissed softly and kicked himself back to his feet to start pacing. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. His endless footwork helping him to think. Heading towards the front door he opened it and looked up at the sky. There was still some time before noon, though he had to admit he hadn't specified an exact schedule with Cody -outside of allowing him to have the morning for his work. He crossed his arms and leaned on the door frame, only then spotting a lad hiding near by. He raised an eyebrow before holding out his hand he gestured that he should come closer. The response was a firm shake of the head, which caused Maion to smile and gestured again. "Come here, I will not hurt thee." He could see the boy hesitate but he did come closer... the first thing he noticed was that the kid was incredibly thin. "Do not fear me." He said softly, making no move to take a step away from the door frame he was leaning on. "Tat not yor houze mister." It took Maion a moment to figure out the words through the accent. "Indeed. The good doctor is a friend of mine. He knows I am here, worry not little one." That made the kid smile, and Maion couldn't help but smile in return. "Do you know the doctor well?" If it was possible Maion watched as the kid eyes lit up even more. "He 'elped ma Muma get betta. He 'elped lotsa people." "Ah I see." Maion pondered for a moment, wondering if he could take advantage of this situation. "Would you like to help me surprise him? Do something for him, as a thank you from all the people he has saved?" He asked, a plan already forming, he would get this kid to fetch the ingredients he needed to make a decent meal... soup was at least one meal Maion knew how to make. It may not be fancy but it was at least healthy. "Me?" The kid asked, walking closer and nodding with so much enthusiasm it was a wonder his head hadn't fallen off with the motion. "You are the only one here who can help me." He smiled again, "I shall give you a reward for your help." Maion explained what he wanted, having the kid repeat the list to him several times to ensure he remembered it. He had to admit he rather enjoyed the kids company... but to see this day after day? The way he was obviously struggling with something... how did Cody do it? Maion couldn't help but wonder if the guy happened to be a better man than him. Fetching his purse he returned to the kid and took out several gold coins, he was about to hand them to him when he noticed the expression on the lads face. His brow furrowed as he looked behind him for danger, seeing none he returned his gaze. "What is wrong little one?" "Sir... th't is the royal shield? Did you steal it? Thieves no good. My Muma not want me to be bad." Maion looked down at his purse, never considering that his family coat of arms had been embroided upon it. "Ah." Cover blown, he did the only thing he could think of on the spot. Appeal to a child's innocent nature. "Can I tell you a secret?" The kid nodded. "I am a Prince.... the doctor is helping to hide me for a day or two." He smiled again, "You see, that is why I want to surprise him also. But you can not tell anyone who I am. If they ask... tell them my name is Vincent." Vincent was the only name Maion could think of on the spot, it was the name of one of his few friends and confidants. With that the kid ran off. It was a risk, but for some reason Maion trusted that the kid wouldn't betray him, would do as he asked. Reentering the house Maion went looking for the things he would need to cook. Taking them out, he lined them up on the counter and went to do something else when he heard a knock at the door. The sound surprised him, and he turned with suspicion towards the thing.... had he been betrayed after all? Still, Maion wasn't one to run away, so with a confidence bred into him he showed no fear as he opened the door.... ...three woman stood at the door, holding baskets of fruits and vegetables... and eggs? He looked at the all for a moment, a little confused to see them here, until the oldest of the three stepped forward. "We all wants to thanks him."

Syaoran-Puu Goodness! I feel small in comparison, but I have to throw something out there since I feel a bit lost on what to do as he approaches. So immersed in his work over the busy morning, he had forgotten the time. Only Mrs. Fulgrove stopping him for a late lunch reminded the brunet of his shortened hours. "Mrs. Fulgrove, please, Something has come up over the next couple of days. I'll need to take the afternoon and evenings off." The old woman seemed to be happy instead of sad, nodding to his explanation. "You may stay and take appointments for tomorrow morning, but direct any emergencies to the hospital. I know they seem cold but they are efficient. Have the bill sent to me." Locking up the back and the drug room, he bid her farewell, heading back down to the lane as he had come. Once again he was late, though this time it was only by less than a half hour. Hopefully he would not be scolded for the misdemeanor.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger No worries smile I nearly finished this off in the last post but didn't want to go too OTT. The lad Maion had sent on the errand came back with everything he had requested, but still more of the villagers had come to drop off gifts of their own. In the end one had even made lunch for him. He was startled by their generosity, but knowing how poor they were he insisted on paying for their food... a donation of his own... promising not to tell the good doctor, and thanking them all for their kindness. Now the house was empty, filled with the sweet smell of a stew and some sort of crumble for dessert. On the counter were all the left over vegetables and dried meats, since Maion had no idea where to store them. Turning the stove down he stirred the stew again, just as he had been instructed.... now all he was missing was the good doctor himself. Maion didn't have a clue how the man would take any of this, especially since he had no intention of telling him that he had in fact convinced them all to take a small fee so they would not starve.... no, as far as Cody was concerned these were all free gifts. Though even as his conviction to keep to this settled in, he couldn't help but worry how the guy would respond. There was another knock on the door, now used to answering the thing, he approached without hesitation. The lad from earlier had returned, a huge grin on his face. "Mr. Vincent..... Ma Muma wantid me to check yous ok." Again Maion found himself flawed by their concern and generosity, placing his hand on the guys head he smiled softly and nodded. "I am fine. Thank you so much for your assistance today. I am sure the good doctor shall be home shortly."

Syaoran-Puu Oh god I feel sick. One of the threads I worked so hard on was deleted by the GM because she wanted to start the ******** guild over and said anyone inactive would get their stuff moved. My partner was inactive because of school and she deleted it...I was still active! Slowing to a halt as he neared his house, he was distracted by an odd sight. The Prince...speaking with a commoner! And a child at that@ The boy was recognizable, he was one of the many that roamed the streets in play after helping their parents with chores. He recalled his mother having a horrid bout of flu he had seen her for, and worried vaguely that maybe she had caught ill again. But no, the boy was smiling as he spoke, nothing could be wrong. He was never surprised when the odd fruits and dried meats made their way to his home, it was the only way some could afford to pay him. He always argued against taking too much, but someone had placed a rickety large wooden chest at the back of his porch, and gifts ended up there as well. These people were proud, and thus would not often take charity. But how was he to tell them that he could not cook what they brought? The information had circulated, so now only things that would not perish easily were brought. Today must be the delivery day of sorts then, by the look the Maion. Casually he approached, placing a hand upon the boy's head. "Shouldn't you be playing out under the sun right now, hm?" He asked, pulling out a licorice button and handing it over to the boy.

Ma Sai The Caged Tiger Awwwww, sucky.... I was a new member there actually; though I could see any one else active really so I never got to RP there smile but ah well, I have two yaoi guilds to play in so not too bothered about being revoked. Also, sorry for dropping the more formal style of RP; but my brain feels like mush right now so this one is easier to maintain. Maion saw Cody approach, forcing the light to drain off his face to an expression more befitting royalty, making him seem a little harsher as he stepped away from the stoop and the lad... Maion couldn't help but feel as if he had been caught red handed doing something 'naughty'. He wandered towards the kitchen and stirred the stew again. "Shouldn't you be playing out under the sun right now, hm?" Maion heard those words and couldn't stop the smile that snook onto his lips. He supposed he did what he did to keep kids like that safe, to protect his father's lands... the lands that would one day become his brothers. He wasn't bitter about that, if anything Maion didn't want to lead the life of one constantly in the spotlight, constantly under pressure... no... he would rather live on instinct in the field of battle. When the good doctor eventually entered the house Maion replaced his smile as quickly as he could with nonchalance, believing that was the only way Cody would take him seriously. "Welcome home Cody." He held the spoon up, only then allowing a small, yet dashing smile, to cover lift his lips. "Stew?"

Syaoran-Puu A life less frightening? I didnt know you had joined. Watching the boy scamper off to join his friends, he couldnt help the warm smile that that graced his features..Their lives were so simple, no piece of hierarchy or strict etiquette, and yet they were always so polite with their please and thank yous. It was a wonder how these wholesome and kind people survived in their poverty. Shaking his head, he disappeared inside, his mask of politeness falling into place as he closed the door. But a smell in the air made him stop. What smelled so delicious? Following the scent, the brunet paused in the small cozy kitchen, shock momentarily taking the strict polite look from his features. "Your Majesty..." He a lost appeared to have lost his breath with the surprise. "You...you can cook?" It was nigh on impossible to believe. He himself could barely boil water, and the dark haired royal could make such a delicious smelling stew?
