"I was only busy for the first hundred years. There was so many things to learn and see, but after the second hundreth year, life was boring and lonely." She replied, watching as humans started walking in. She tried to imagine the boy in her shoes. It was sort of a weird thought.

He grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil and started writing with one hand as he held the book in his other. There isn't some sort of ghost society or something? I imagine it would be pretty damn lonely. Every now and then he would have to stop writing and help a customer out, but once the coast was clear he started writing again. When he finished he tapped the pencil against the paper to try and make sure she noticed, though he was sure she didn't have anything better to do.

Maura giggled as he wrote on the paper. It was amusing her how he resorted to writing as the humans walked around looking at books. She was read along as he wrote. "Most ghosts are too consumed with the lose and misery of being a ghost. Or their twitching with hatred and revenge. If there was a ghost society, I doubt many spirits would go. You couldn't imagine how lonely it gets. Humans can't see us, if they can, they are usually terrified of us. Nonhuman beings ignore us, they think they are much more superior and would rather not waste time with mingling in a spirit's problem." She replied, letting out a soft sigh afterward as she brought her knees up to her chest and continued to sit on the desktop. She looked over at him with a sad smile. "It's nice having someone with a pulse to talk to. I've tried talking with other ghosts, but they are always seemingly too busy with nothing. Eternal wondering is not a pleasant thing." Maura added as she looked away and watched the humans walk about. Of course, there were some perchs to being a ghost. Like all the strange abilities that could be learned over time. Maura knew almost all that there was to having ghostly abilities, but she chose not to use them most of the time.

As she spoke he looked away from his book and towards her, which in turn made it seem like he was looking out the window. "I'm sure it is. Having someone to talk to anyways." He said to her quietly before looking out over the shop. He looked at a mirror on the ceiling and saw that nobody was in the nearest two isles. It was a way to keep people from stealing books, but with the magnetic strip sensor next to the door it essentially made the mirrors useless. "I suppose that makes sense. I'm sure you're right about it being lonely, but I'm glad you're not one of those other types of ghosts that is just a sad or vengeful. You seem more like... like a Casper." He teased.

Maura laughed at his teasing. She was actually glad she wasn't like the other ghosts. They were so depressing. She liked seeing the brighter side of everything and tried to stay positive. "Hey now, I actually met a ghost named Casper. He actually was a pretty cool kid. Though, it was easy to tell that the depression and loneliness was slowly taking over him. I actually spent a few years with him until he just vanished one day. I'm sure he found a reason to move on. Hopefully." She replied with another smile. Now that she thought about it, there were a few ghosts that she had crossed paths with that had actually talked to her. They didn't stay around long, though. Either disappearing or moving on. What ever the case was, she was still left alone.

He stifled a laugh and eyed her curiously. "Hell, feel free to stick around if you want. Personally I don't mind the company. Might make me look like I'm nuts, but it's nice having someone to talk to that I don't have to hide who I am from." Nero said with a nod, looking at a nearby clock, it was nearing lunch. "Maybe I'll be the one to help you move on."

Maura's smile grew wider at the invite to stay longer if she wanted. It was nice, knowing that there was someone who actually accepted her presence instead of ignoring her. It made her extremely happy. So happy that she couldn't hold it in. "Really? I can stay longer?" She squeeled. Her energy levels had went crazy. The pencil and paper had begun to float between them. As well as any other light objects that were near by. Once she noticed the paper and pencil, she bit her bottom lip. "Sorry about that." She mumbled as the objects slowly dropped. It wasn't often that she allowed her energy to get out of control like that. She then rest her cheek on her knees and look at Nero. Moving on wasn't something she often thought about. "Honestly, I don't really have a desire to move on." She said softrly.

Nero blinked as he watched the various things on the counter begin floating. "No worries, I don't think anyone saw." He said, putting things back where they belonged. "But yeah, I don't mind. A little surprised you don't want to move on though. Can't imagine that it is very interesting after two hundred years."

The boy had a point. The after life was boring and lonely after two-hundred years. There were times where she had wanted to move on but couldn't. Though, it was different for her. She couldn't find a valid reason to move on. In her view, there was still much to see. Even if she was bored and didn't have much to do from time to time. She grinned widely at he said that he was surprise. Maura expected that. "It's not really that interesting, but from time to time, something wonderous happens. Like now. I found a living being that is actually talking to me." She giggled. SHe then realized, that she hadn't even gotten his name. Maura flushed, thinking it was rude of herself to not have introduced herself earlier. If her mother was a spirit and knew that she didn't use manner, well, Maura figured that her mother would have found a way to make another afterlife just for her. She couldn't help but laugh at this thought. "So, boy with a pulse and wolf ears, I completely forgot to introduce myself earlier. With all the excitement and everything." She said with a giggle, then added, "I'm Maura."

Nero turned back towards the shop as a customer came up to the counter. He continued to listen to what the ghost was saying and was almost working as if he was zoned out while he was doing it. He did get the person's items rung up and within a minute they were gone. "Heh, I suppose you do have a point there. And I don't mind talking with you, especially if it gives you something to do." He said happily with a nod, leaning against the counter as she introduced herself. "Hmm? Well it's nice to meet you Maura. I'm Nero." He said with another nod as he held his hand out for her to shake, realizing a few seconds later it wouldn't work. He closed his hand into a ball and slowly lowered it. "Right... That's gonna take some getting used to."

Maura watched as he tended to a customer before answering her. She giggled at both how cute and original his name was, and at how he had held his hand out for her to shake it. "Just because I'm a ghost, doesnt mean I'm not touchable." She said with a wide grin as she reached out her hand out towards him. She focused highering her energy lever and then poked him gently. One of the many tricks she had learned over the years. Though, it wasn't something that she spent a lot of time focusing on. Maura let out a giggle as she retracked her hand. "See?" She added.

"It doesn't? I guess that makes sense seeing as you were able to pick up the book earlier." He blinked looking at the spot she just poked for a second before and smiled. "Well I'll be damned." He chuckled softly, making sure not to be too loud. "That is certainly interesting."

She nodded and giggled. It had taken her a good twenty or so years to learn that trick. Of course, being a ghost, what else was one to do. Other than looking for friends and failing miserably at it, she spent some of her time learning ghostly tricks. Which, for the most part, were usefull when need me. "Well, when there isn't much to do for two hundred years, one simply learns a few too many tricks." Maura had replied with a grin. She was full of surprises, and Nero would see that soon enough. There was a lengthy list of abilities that Maura could do. "Not as nearly as interesting as actually becoming visible." She added shortly after. Though, that was something that she was still learning. It was surely a tricky ability to do.

"If you can become visible then couldn't you basically be human? I mean you can already touch stuff. Granted it would probably take a lot of focus but I get the feeling someone like you might be able to pull it off." He said happily. If she could pull it off at the very least it would give her something to do.

Maura giggled some more. It was true that she would basically be human or at least seem human if she could make herself visible. Yes, it would take a lot of focuse, but it's hard to pull off if inexperienced. Which was why she was still in the process of learning that trick. Only recently was she able to make her left hand fully become visble. Though, the toughest ability she knew that would take her a long time was being able to turn visible and solid. That, she hasn't tried yet. "Yeah, I could be human basically, but it's difficult. I've only been able to turn my whole left hand visible. What will really take time is turning visible and solid at once. I figure that might take me at least another fifty years after I master turning completely visible." She replied. To those with a pulse, it may seem easy for a spirit to do all of these abilities, but it really wasn't. It takes time to learn and energy to focus.
