I'm a vegetarian so I'm just going to sidle out of this thread...

Fruit is delicious! I bought a massive melon that weighs more than my dog, I don't have a knife big enough to cut into it...need to find axe!

Try cracking it on the edgee of your kitchen bench biggrin
Or a step.. you might lose a teeny bit but it's open xD

Apples do that a lot if you have hayfever because they're cross-reactive 3nodding
If I eat strawberries I get hives then die. Whyyyyyy did it have to be one of the delicious fruits? Why no limes or sharon fruits (whatever they are)

that makes sense. i have bad hayfever all the time these days. But i wont stop smelling the roses every day <33

Uh...today I ate a Starbucks hot chocolate and a Starbucks iced tea lemonade.

But I love eating! And baking! I'm really bad at cooking...But my mom is trying to teach me. I used to eat two apples a day, but I forgot to buy apples last week.

My favorite foods are corned beef! Peanut butter and strawberry jam on whole wheat! Golabki! Homemade chicken soup with pepper corn! Steak tartar!

I can't really grow anything because I don't have a garden sweatdrop

I really want to grow my own tomatos and courgettes because they're expensive and yummy.

Hunting is massively taboo in the UK sweatdrop

I don't like hunting for sport.. But I like hunting for food and only killing what you need and no more than the enviroment can handle.

What on earth is a courgette? eek Are all tomatoes expensive in the UK?

I think Americans call it a zucchini? I'm not sure...maybe that's a marrow. Someone told me once America doesn't have parsnips, is that true?

Tomatoes are like nearly £2 ($3) a pack which isn't much but when carrots are like 15p it's a lot in comparison.

Oh ok! I just googled it, you're right. Zucchini = Courgette and vice versa. That name change really threw me for a loop. XDD I love courgettes then! I eat them all the time. I had to google marrow just now too. XD I also eat that all the time. I call it squash though. I am learning way more than I ever expected to learn from this thread.

I cannot even imagine tomatoes being 3 dollars a pack. @__@ That is WAY expensive.

Iol! We totally have parsnips here. I've never eaten one before but I'm almost positive I've seen them sold. XD

Zucchini sounds like the name of a magician XD "The Great Zucchini will now make courgettes disappear inside his body!"
I think we have different names for all kinds of squashes because Britons like nothing more than really bland vegetables XD
Roast parsnips are delicious but the other kinds are a bit boring. They always tried to fool us with school dinners and say the roast parsnips were chips (fries) but we weren't having any of it!

and seriously, like every other suite in the building has s**t food

but I live with two awesome cooks so I get amaaaazing food all the tiiiiiime.

We live near a china town so we get all sorts of veggies, and there's a super awesome butcher's shop near here.

ugh home made lasagna, mac and cheese, puttanesca, beef stew, ma po tofu, burritos, panna cotta, EVERYTHING HOME MADE AND DELICIOUUSSS.

I like it. It's very sweet though, I usually have to add some water to it.

I get a lot of slack from family and friends about it

but It doesn't bother me much anymore.

It wasn't until my dad experimented with Buddhism
and I started reading about religions and the environment,
that I began to understand the impact of food.

Now I'm a food activist and I'm learning more and more
and cooking so many amazing things!
Becoming Vegan showed me a whole new way to look at food.

Food as a craft
and not just as a survival instinct.
