yea those were the days, i mean i dont know any of the super crazy things that people do now but back in the day was awesome. and as someone said not too long ago the gemini elf scenario was bad. even worst
Dark elf.... ....crap
but i still do use a blue eyes no matter how "obsolete" it may be. it is still the highest normal attack monster i believe. unless someone knows of another Normal monster with attack higher then 3000

BEWD can only be used now as a beatstick with vanilla, dragon, LIGHT, and archtype support. Even then it's pretty weak sauce compared to better dragons.

Yusaru Gravitational Molestation I will just take solace in the fact that you're wrong. Oy...I pity you...I pity you dude. Even running today's meta, you ABSOLUTELY have to know how it works, or you'll definitely lose. GM is absolutely right. The decks back then didn't require skill at all. You pack your deck with raigeki, harpie's feather duster, monster reborn, some powerful-at-the-time flip effect monsters, pot of greed, etc. Those decks were DEFINITION cookie-cutter. Anyone could make them and win. Modern decks now, you have THOUSANDS of cards to choose from. For amateurs, they HAVE to get better to understand all of the terms not around back then. there was no spell speed 3, no nomi until metal raiders, no useful fusions or rituals, and definitely NO ARCHTYPE SELECTION. I will oppose you and everything you stand for by saying "old decks were harder to use". Based on what? you could fight and win without tribute monsters in that time, so difficulty in summoning high level monsters could be entirely non-issue.

As a side note: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Order_of_Set_ReleaseAlso, Solid Snake, Blue-Eyes was and always has been bad. The only chance it has had are a few Demise offshoots and the small amount of potential that was born of Stone and Cards. Those all failed too.

Uh, no it wasn't a big deal. It was horrible. 3 Man Eater Bug 3 Hane Hane 3 Fissure 3 Dark Hole 3 Raigeki 3 Soul Exchange 3 Trap Hole 3 Wall of Illusion 3 Change of Heart 3 Monster Reborn And that's just from the first set and starters. Blue Eyes White Dragon was horrid. Get over it. By the way, future reference, first limitation list: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/May_2002_Lists

A bit of a deviation from the original topic, but after hearing about how near enough every monster released now is an effect monster, it does mean we miss out on flavour text with our current gen. And we all enjoy flavour text
