.husbife [ I was so excited today when I walked into the locker room and saw a girl w/ a MCR shirt. The black one, w/ the heart and gun that says "Fire at will"...well, last time I had seen one of those shirts was at the Twisted Xmas concert, so I asked her if she got it there. Apparently, she didn't even know who MCR were, she just thought the shirt looked cool. gonk ]
[I was so disappointed.]
[Discussion:Which merch. is your favorite? Do some people you know PRETEND to like MCR? Do you think buying band shirts is getting out-of-hand trendy?(because the girl in the locker room got the shirt for the soul reason it was a band shirt.)] people like that make me sick.*goes and pukes up blood* 4laugh

*mops up blood* there, there...
I've actually only seen two people other than me in MCR merch, and those people are my two best friends... xd so really, where I live, the band doesn't receive nearly as much attention as it should, as opposed to getting too much attention and attracting posers.
I'm not sure which is worse.

Ack, I have that shirt! ((And I bought it in JERSEY too)) I also have the "I don't need your friends, I've got my own" shirt and another shirt that says "I heart Gerard Way".
I think that's really awful when people just wear band tees to look cool. I hate all these little 8 year olds wearing Beatles shirts and all those people who bought ((and are still buying)) The Ramones shirts from Urban Outfitters. The Ramones are hardly a band anymore, they're a clothing label. To me, you have to like the band and know more than just the singles to be worthy of a shirt.

O_o Some people!Gah. If Im given a band-t by someone or like a design and I dont know the music, I wont wear it until I have heard at least one song and know who the people actually are. Otherwise you look like a complete idiot when someone asks you about the band...

Sockks This reminds me of today at school. It was Band Day and you were supposed to wear band T-shirts. I saw two girls with the "Revenge" and the "Give Em Hell Kid" shirts on and thought, I wonder if they actually like the band or they are wearing them just cuz it's Band Day. I also saw this other girl wearing an Evanescence shirt, and was like, there is NO way she actually likes them, which made me mad cuz I mean, why not actually wear a shirt of a band you actually like?
Yes, it bothers me as well when people wear shirts for bands they know nothing about. I, for one, won't buy a band shirt--even if I love a song by them--unless I have one of their CDs. Otherwise I just feel poser-ish.

.... i once randomly hugged a girl who was wearing an mcr shirt who i saw at a theme park.... then she gave me a funny look and i was just all "i like your shirt" and walked away. ^^

It's sad when people act like that.
I overheard this girl talking with another about her t-shirt.
It said "The Cars" in BIG letters, and I know that band cause my dad has their CD.
Girl 1: Is that a band?
Girl 2: I dunno...
Okay, WHY would you buy a shirt with only the words "the cars" on it if you don't like them?
Because, that would make a pretty lame thing to say on a non-band shirt.

My favorite band of all time is the Ramones, and i have talked to a few people wearing the urban outfitters shirt, and the conversation always goes like this: me "You like the Ramones! sweet!" person "yeah, i like some of their stuff..." me "whats your favorite song?" person "uhhh...arent they a clothing line?" me " talk2hand fool." Whenever I stop liking a band, I stop wearing their shirt (if I had one), I dont like 'em anymore, why should I represent them?

People this days only wear what think makes them look 'cool' or what's trendy. A guy in my class and I somehow got around to talking about The Black Parade and he told me how much he hated the album. The next day he came to school with the shirt that says We are The Black Parade.

But anyways, there was this girl with a HIM shirt on; one with a pink heartogram and in little letters "HIM" and my friend LOVES HIM so we went over and
"So you like HIM?"
"Umm no, theyre a bit too loud and depressing for me"
Okayyyyyyyyyyy, then why the shirt???

I wouldn't even THINK of buying a band tshirt if I didn't own at least one album of the band in question.
