SilverMaple I like:
• As stated by Lady Gyr, I would also love to see a story of a knight sacrificing everything he owns for his lord. It sounds amazing. <3 I guess I managed to stumble across an interesting idea, aha. If I found something like it, I would read that damn thing in a moment. Foregoing that, maybe I'll eventually have to write it. :/a It would be just about the hottest ever in the hands of a skilled writer, though.

Likes: drama
some mpreg, however it has to make sense.
any sci-fi plot
any Historical setting
Sirius/Lupen pairing. That man hug in the movie made the pairing for me. (don't care if their straighter than all hell)
Starfighter. EPIC COMIC EVA!
Dislikes: Shota. It's gross as hell, it's disturbing, and it's wrong on so many levels.
Super ukes...
Overly manly characters (ie DBZ yaoi)
over used roleplay plots

There must be at least one published book out there with that premise! D:

Lady Gyrfalcon a knight giving up everything to serve his liege lord's wishes, and submitting to his will of his own accord, out of loyalty or love or duty or whatever. Did you, like, hack into my computer and read my story notes? Because I have plans for a story with that dynamic. Likes- Villain/Hero pairings. I just finished reading a story that had a villain kidnapping and tying up a hero, then flirting with and groping him while he's doing his evil thing. And sending him gifts which the hero thinks are booby-trapped but are actually clean. It was all kinds of hilarious/sexy. Especially when the hero starts trying to get kidnapped ("Here I am, standing on a rooftop without a shirt! Come kidnap me!"). - Couples growing old together. - When a character sends unnecessary(/dirty) texts/emails just to bother/tease someone. I see this a lot in Sherlock fic and it's really sweet. - Sparring. Nothing says trust like letting someone get you into a hold you might not be able to get out of, or take up a weapon against you, and there's definitely something to be said for an experienced fighter taking time to teach a civilian how to fight.

Dear Sieffre, Clearly I somehow managed to tune into your mind's wavelength and siphon off your idea. Either that or, more plausibly, great minds think alike. ;D (Braintwinnage in the spinnage, yo!) Also, I want to read your one when you're done, by the way. Just putting in advance notice and all that. Yours, Lady Gyrfalcon Also I agree especially with your likes two and four thar. While one would make a great comedy set-up.

I don't like:
• Weepy, girly ukes. I was happy with them when I first discovered yaoi, but now I'm starting to get weary of them. I swear to God, if I find any uke that can top Ayase from Okane Ga Nai with his hamster personality and his giant blue eyes that take up half his face, I will facepalm very hard. • Whenever the seme is pretty much having foreplay with the uke, and the uke always moans something like, "N-Nyaaa, noooo don't go there, it's... dirtyyyyyy! Aaaah! @A@;;;". They're both MEN, for Pete's sake, you'd think they'd both want it just as badly instead of having the uke always, ALWAYS have to go this roundabout way of saying, "No! No! It's embarassing!" before he cums. Geebus. "Seriousness is the refuge of the shallow."
Haha, right!? Hamster personality is so accurate, I love it!
And yeah. About the whole "ahh... no~ it hurts~ it's dirty~" crap... I die. I am allergic to it. I start choking on my own blood if I read it. Nobody says that during sex. Ever.
@Sieffre & Lady Gyr: There are lots of stories like that, with the whole knight/master thing... though it's always het. Snore.

S a f f r o n S u g a r There are lots of stories like that, with the whole knight/master thing... though it's always het. Snore. Ja, but... I'm not talking about het. I gots some different likes in terms of het, heh. And you know in het it would probably come laden with the courtly love blah blah which is sometimes done well but often done paint-dryingly, eye-rollingly boring or even with strange sexist elements somehow. (Like "Oh I must have you protect me because I am incompetent!" instead of "I could do this myself, but if I got killed it would throw the whole demesne/kingdom/whatever into chaos!" ) Likes: I was convinced that I added this to my list months ago, but apparently not: Consensual marking. A guy invites his lover to leave a permanent mark on him physically - a scar, a tattoo, scarification - that kind of thing. Especially if it has some sort of very deep/significant meaning to it. (The only problem with this is that it involves inflicting pain which makes me twitch and is decidedly unsexy on my scale of things. Conflict, such conflict.) Characters who have tattoos or body modifications - I find it very interesting, and I wonder about the story behind it and how it adds to the understanding of a character. Characters with competence and skill - it's not about raw strength/"manliness", because goodness me does that go ridiculous places by my standards, but I think that skill is admirable and appealing in characters. When they're good at or a master in their specialised field, whether that's academic fields, giving the bad guys what-for, magic, acrobatics, linguistics... I have a deep admiration for effort and the will to strive, self-discipline and the work that goes into something, and that applies to honing abilities, too. So it's something that I factor into my assessment of fictional characters as well as real people, aha.
Dislikes: On the flip side, I don't see how useless characters who do nothing but mess up, have nothing which they are good at, period, and/or even need rescuing all the time are supposed to be "moe" or appealing. I mean, like clumsy uke moeblobs and stuff. Especially when that's supposed to be a "feminine" trait - it just makes me want to cut something.
@ Ellen: About the cross-dressing with "sexy clothes" thing - it makes me think of when people go and do fanart putting a character in nothing but an apron for Valentine's or something. I mean, is that supposed to be appealing and/or fanservice-y? I think it's just kind of weird. Even with female characters. The frilly pink apron things... Blarg.
