After a little while, Shan exited the bathroom and went to check on the mouse. It seemed pretty happy in its new home, although it won't get to run around as much. Putting his hand into the box, he giggled as the mouse nibbled a little on his fingers. Figuring that he'll need to give the mouse a name, he began to think of one.

"Hey, I'm gonna call you Nezushi, is that okay?" he asked the mouse. He knew it wasn't going to answer, but at least he wouldn't have to worry about it not listening. "Alright, your name shall be Nezushi," he declared, and the mouse just continued nibbling on his fingers.

His delightful time with his new pet stopped when he felt that he needed to do something. Was he supposed to head downstairs to the dining room for some dinner? Or was he supposed to stay here and wait for his master to call?

When Kanda finished his food, he finished the last of his green tea then called one of the slaves over. "Yes, young master?" The save asked as it bowed in greeting. "Get the new slave some food and tell him to come in my study in an hour." Kanda ordered. The slave nodded her head and went to get Shan.

Kanda pulled out his chair then got up and headed for the study. He pned the door an entered then went to one of the bookshelves and looked for a book to read since he was bored.

The slave girl went up to Shan's door and knocked on it light as she waited. "excuse me? Are you in there? May I come in?" She asked as she waited for a response.

After hearing someone knock on the door, Shan withdrew his hand from the box. "Sure, you can come in. The door is unlocked," he replied to a voice from the door. It shortly opened to reveal a girl, probably another slave, holding a tray of some sort.

The mouse squeaked and Shan turned his head to the box and replied to it with a 'sh' noise, but then he tensed. From what he remembered, not many girls liked mice. It would be terrible if the girl at the door alerted some people and then the master found out he didn't get rid of the mouse! What can he do?!

The slave girl smiled as she opened the door and entered in. She had a tray of with bread, jam and some ham for the boy to eat and a glass of milk so he could drink. She looked up as she slowly bowed her head, careful not to drop the tray.

"Hello. You must be the new slave the young master bought." She stated as she gave a soft smile. "He has told me to tell you to eat this food." She said holding up the tray and meet him in his stuy in an hour." She said. She then looked at the box on the bed behind him and tilted her head,. "Whats in the box?" She asked as she walked up to him with curiosity in her eyes.

"Th-there's nothing in here. I just like boxes, that's all," Shan tried to explain. "Th-thanks for the food, by the way. Um..." He couldn't find a reason to get the slave girl's curiosity out from her mind. It seemed pretty hopeless, though.

Nezushi squeaked again and Shan had to hide it in his hand. The mouse was already trying to bite its way out, but he wasn't going to let it out just yet.

"Are you sure?" She asked, "You seem to have something.." She stated as she looked at his hand. She heard a muffled squeaking and tilted her head then laid the food on the bed and looked at him. You should eat then. Master Kanda will be mad if you are late." She stated as she smiled softly.

"Yeah, I'm sure. It's nothing," Shan answered the girl's question. He winced a little as Nezushi kept biting his already bleeding areas and his hand was getting numb. It was starting to get harder and harder to keep Nezushi in, that soon an opening appeared between Shan's fingers where the mouse could poke its head out.

The biting stopped and now the mouse was looking around the room. Shan decided to just leave it staring. The girl probably won't notice. After all, Nezushi is a pretty small mouse.

"Okay, goo-" She started to say then saw the mouse, though small as it is and froze in place. "T-t-t-that-t's a-a-a-a m-m-mou.." She stuttered out as she slowly backed away, having a terrible fear for mice as it looked at her and she did her beast not to scream.

Shan was in immediate panic. He didn't know what he would be able to say in his defense. "P-please don't scream," he said nervously. He noticed Nezushi staring at the girl, and that was probably why she was so scared. Quickly, Shan put the mouse back in the box and closed to top. Hopefully, that would help the girl calm down.

He examined his hands and noticed them covered in bleeding mouse bites. He tried to keep the hands out from the girl's sight so she wouldn't have to have another thing to be scared about.

"W-w-w-why d-d-d-do y--you h-hh-have a-a m-m-m-ouse??.." She asked slowly as she calmed sown a little when the mouse went away. She closed her eyes and breathed in and out in and out. This was able to calm her at least.

'Stay calm..' She told herself in her head over and over again until she was in control again. She opened her eyes and looked at the boy, making sure not to look at the box as she looked at his hands. "Why are you hiding them?" Shye asked as she wanted to go help but stayed in place since the mouse was by him.

"It's nothing. Just a few scratches," Shan replied to her. "And about the mouse, well the master told me to get rid of it, but it kinda looked cute so I decided to keep it. I'm sorry that it scared you." He sighed in relief when he noticed the girl had calmed down. At least there won't be commotion.

There was a moment of silence, and Shan looked at a clock on the wall. It was most likely about ten minutes or so since the girl came in and told him about the master's orders to head to the study in an hour. That means he had fifty minutes left to eat his already cooling dinner. What does the master want, anyway?

"You think that rat is cute?" She asked in total shock as looked at Shan. She has now inducted that the boy was strange but pushed it aside. Everyone had different taste. And it was just this one...liked animals that like to knaw at you and squeak.

She then put on a smile as she nodded her head. "W-well, alright. If you are good. I will be leaving them." The slave girl said as she backed up; watching the box like a hawk, then left. As soon as she closed the doors she sighed in releief and ran to the kitchen to finish her chores for the night.

When the girl finally left, Shan gave out a sigh of relief. Now he wouldn't have to worry about any screaming. Opening the box again, Shan took the tray of food, broke off some pieces of bread, and dropped it into the box. He giggled as he saw Nezushi nibbling on the little pieces, and he pet the mouse while it ate.

Shan had been so busy watching Nezushi scrambling that he had lost track of the time. When he looked at the clock, he found himself to be five minutes late. He gasped and rushed out the door and towards the study, hoping that the master wouldn't pay much attention to his tardiness.

Kanda enterd the study and was reading a random book to pass the hour away. He had found that when you do nothing, it does not help the time to go faster. He continued to read as an hour came.

He looked up at the clock; it was 9 on the dot. He looked at the door and waited for it to open. After five minutes of waiting, he got impatient. "He's late.." Kanda said under his breath in irritation. That boy was now in for a worl dof hurst.
