Oh wow, didnt know there were so many. I think i only got one in my whole time here...but then again i wasnt really active. Lets hope they bring it back if it is broken

Eh, technically the rare events are still around. They just don't fly across your screen so you miss them.
If you follow that link I've posted, there's a bunch of links you can click to retrieve any that you might have missed~

And~ Have you checked out www.tektek.org?
If you go to www.tektek/gaia/items.php you can search for different Gaia items. You can also check out a list of the rare event items. ^^

Never checked out the items there...the page takes a while to load for me so i tend to close it out shortly after i enter it.

Hmm~ well I guess the quick run down is that there are brown/blue/pink magical giftboxes that contain various avatar clothing items.
There are also enchanten golden/wooden trunks
