In medieval days, how much did the average suit of armor weigh?

According to a show I saw on the History channel, battle armor ranged from a few pounds for leather or ring mail, up to 20 lbs. Plate armor was the heaviest, exceeding 100 lbs, including the breastplate, helmet and leggings. With this much armor on their bodies, if a knight fell to the ground, he was unable to get back up. Some jousting armor was the heaviest of all. The impact points were thicker and the knight has to be hoisted onto the horse because of all the weight. Show Armor is just that, for show. This is very thin and shiny. They wore this armor during festivals and ritual events.
