Delia smiled a bit at Louise and shook her hand. It felt strange, human contact. She had been in hiding for months, only seeing people when they couldn't see her. Delia's confidence, which had been shaky at best before, was now dissipating at a rapid rate. She should have realized, showing up at the doorstep, or spacecraft hangar in her case, of the Shadow Corp wouldn't mean anything. She would still have to prove herself, though how, she didn't know.

"Come on, I'll show you around." Louise smiled, walking away. "Or, I can just show you your room, if you want to get some sleep. We've still got a few hours until we get back to Draconias...." She shrugged, looking around. "And don't worry about what Jack said, if you're good, you'll get training and a chance to prove how good you can be."

"No, no. I don't need to sleep. Too much adrenaline." And it was true, she was twidling her thumbs restlessly, unable to keep still. Her flight hadn't faded from memory yet, nor did she think it would anytime soon. Delia followed Louise, at least there was one kind face in the group. She felt relieved that she had mentioned training, they would at least take an interest in what she could do.

"So..." Louise talked slowly. "You're a Neo-Human?" She smiled, looking back. "Guess you can use magic, huh? I have nearly no skill, it's pretty depressing at times..." She spun around, walking backwards with a big smile on her face. "So, got any 'special skills' we should know about? And here's a secret about Jack, he really ticklish! He's not as much of a monster as he seems, just he doesn't really trust anyway."

((special skills? Smooth Arak ,really smooth))

"Yeah, as much 'neo' as a human can get, that's me." She laughed a bit, darkly. Delia had long ago accepted her fate, but that didn't mean that she didn't resent it. "Magic, huh? Well, I've never been great at it," at all.

She looked at Louse's smiling face, it seemed so stark a contrast from Reaper. It was good to see nonetheless.

"Special skills? I kick a** at chess," she said, and immediately regretted it, starting off at the Shadow Corp by lying, not a good idea. "I um, can see, mana. You know, with my eye." She pointed to her right eye that was completely black along with her skin.

(( What? Reaper and Toku have special skills, a lot of Neos does. Reaper can get stabbed and like.. not feel it.))

"See mana?" Louise looked a little shocked. "Well, I've never heard of that before. Plenty of people can sense it, but not see it..." She stopped, pointing to a door on her right. "Want to get something to eat? The chef here does a really nice Dragon Soup. Just... don't ask for any bananas."

Meanwhile, on the bridge, Reaper was looking at the large tactical readout screen.
"These are the preliminary reports Jack..." Melanie sighed, cleaning her glasses. "Valentine was spotted at quite a few planets. But we're still no closer to finding out where they're striking from." She sighed, placing the glasses back on her nose.
Jack groaned. "This is great... I seriously don't think we can afford to wait, pilot, charge the Gate Drive!"
"Yes Sir! Gate Drive charge commencing. Complete in one minute!"

"It's useful for-" she was about to say 'spying,' but what kind of impression would that leave? "Finding people, when I just look through my right eye I can only see the mana, nothing else to get in the way."

Delia stoped along with Louise at the door, "Sure, food would be great." She wondered but didn't ask about the bananas.

"Sounds like it could be really handy." Louise smiled, and was about to say something as a voice boomed out through the ships PA system.
"All hands, prepare for Gate Jump!"
"Well..." Louise sighed. "We might not get time for food, follow me, you'll want to see this!" She smiled, walking down the hallway, towards a small window. "This is always amazing..."

"Gate opening in twenty seconds..." The navigation officer said slowly, tapping a few buttons. "Coordinates locked on Draconias."
"Good..." Reaper smiled. "It'll be nice to have some solid ground under out feet, eh?"
Melanie nodded. "Yeah. It will."

"Gate jump? What is it?" Delia followed Louse to the small window and leaned towards it to get a good view of whatever was happening. The empty space greeted her through the window and she gazed at it while she waited.

((Argh, I hate it when my posts sound so insignificant))

(( Heh heh, if I felt like that, I'd be swearing at all my posts))

Louise smiled. "Well, you know what a Light Burst is? Where a ship uses mana to shift out of the normal dimension phase and accelerate to an insane speed. Well, a Gate Drive is similar... except that instead of shifting the ship, it just blasts a hole to another point in space, and then the we jump through. Takes a lot of energy, and takes hours and hours to recharge, but a fleet of ships with Gate Drives can be the perfect defense..."

As the two watch, energy surged from the rear of the ship to the nose, more and more, faster and faster, before they released it forward.
The bolts of lightning slammed, into nothing. Cracks appeared in space itself, and then... it shattered, a massive hole now floating in space. And in the middle of it... was Draconias.
"Pilot! Take us though!" Reaper smiled, as the ship started to whine slightly. The Drive charged, and then... WOOSH! The Excalibur shot forward in a blur, appearing in orbit around the now not so small planet. "Right... get our guest onto a shuttle. And alert the Dragon authorities, I want to know who she is, and where she came from."

"See? Wasn't that cool!" Louise smiled, turning back into the young girl she still wished she was. "I love being on the bridge when it happens, it looks so amazing..." Louise glanced to the side as two secutiry officers apporched.
"Excuse me Ma'am." One of them bowed to Louise. "We're here to escort our guest to the surface."
"Jack?" Louise asked.
"Yes Ma'am."
"Then I'm coming with you. Delia, shall we?" She smiled, showing that nothing was wrong.

((Oh believe me, I am))

Delia watched the Gate drive with rapt attention. It had to be the single most stunning thing she had ever seen. And with her extra advantage, she could see the wisps of mana everywhere.

She looked up when the security officers came towards them and immediately stiffened. She was getting too comfortable, though that was easy to do with Louise. She was still here to make a good impression, and if they didn't trust her enough and had to have her escorted around, she would do everything possible to remain focused on getting her chance.

Delia liked the way they said 'guest,' as if she were invited. She smiled a little and followed them.

As Louise and Delia entered the hanger, Jack was standing, in no more than a black t-shirt and black jeans, his hair tied behind his head. Now, his face, and body could be clearly seen. His eyes were no longer black with white pupils, but instead blue, with black pupils. He had a crescent moon scar on the right of his face, from just below his hair, down past his eye and ending near his mouth.
He did exactly look strong, not many muscles, but he had plenty of scars on his arms. He had a pistol holster on his belt, complete with pistol, along with a small cylinder, to what purpose only a few people knew. "Took you two long enough, come on, Drake's waiting for us."

((Oh, darn, I have no idea what Delia looks like right now, I forgot about descriptions...))

Delia saw Reaper as she entered the hangar, and found that despite his change of clothes, he looked no less menacing with the scars that covered his body. She crossed the hangar towards him, her military style boots making little sound, she had learned to be silent. She quickly snapped a clasp of her jacket back into place so that it closed all the way up to her neck.

It was still hard to look at him, her right eye wanting only to focus on the mana that surged through him. She ignored the blurring in her vision and stood straight and confident. Delia refused to let anybody see how unsure she really was.

Louise nudged Delia, a smile on her face. "Cheer up, he's not as big a monster as everyone thinks." Jack glanced at Louise, smirking and shaking his head. "If you say that to everyone, then I'm not going to have much of a reputation." Louise giggled. "Also, I need you to go see the Argent Dragons Louise, they say there's someone they want you to meet." He shrugged.
"Really? Aww, they're all bores." She sighed, moving away. "Stay calm, alright Delia. And remember, he's ticklish!"
Jack sighed, stepping into the the transport and sitting down. "Come on... we've got to talk."

Delie fought the urge to laugh, if he attacks, go for the feet or the armpits. She stepped into the transport after him and sat opposite him on the edge of the seat. Needing to talk could only portend something quite serious, she stilled her restless hands and waited for him to begin.

((Gah, insignificance...))
