Basil, brushed back his own hair, "I also enjoy dancing, although I'm not much of a singer I like to play the piano a great deal. I'm more of a fan of mysteries, and the horror books. Although I don't eat a lot, I've developed a taste for apples and strawberries." His eyes flickered from hers to the railing she was leaning against. "Be careful, those railings can be fragile." He cautioned leading her away from potential harm, taking care to hold onto her elbow as he escorted her to an outdoor stone balcony, to keep his actions away from his cousin's prying eyes.

Abbie nodded gently, going where he lead her. Looking out over the balcony. "Apples and strawberries? I love strawberries. Dipped in chocolate they're even better!" She said with a nod, leaning against the new rail, resting her head on her arms. "Piano? I love listening to classical stuff. It soothes me. I become so relaxed I completely zone out." She laughed, rubbing her neck a bit. "My mother makes fun of me for it. She's a die hard piano player, we like to do duets all the time." She grinned brightly. "You're so lucky to have people to spend time with. I have only my mother. But she's my best friend. The rest of my family up and left... Mom and I stayed while my dad and sister went off travelling." She shrugged.

Basil had to control himself from wanting to nibble her collarbone as it shone out of the collar of her dress. He swallowed hard, making sure not to convey that he was nervous. "I'm sure they are quite lovely dipped in chocolate, you must remind me to have some brought up for us later on." He smiled as he sat across from abbie on a stone bench. "I'm sorry to hear that you are separated from your father and sister it must be very difficult." "I lost my parents when I was younger, back in England due to illness, I love my relatives here even when they annoy me." He shrugged as the vampire told his darker urge to shut up, and concentrated instead on Abbie. "You and I should play some time, it will be a great interest for me to hear you play." He then turned to see his butler holding a bowl of chocolate covered apples and strawberries along with other delights. "Ah, right on time! Thank you Parker." The elder man bowed and then left the young couple to thier evening.

Abbie blushed bright as she took a strawberry out of the bowl and gracefully bit it. Trying hard not to get anything stuck in her teeth or have strawberry juice dribble down her dress. "You lived in England?" She asked curiously, and slowly crept over and took a seat next to him on the bench. "Relatives are supposed to be a tad annoying. Only reason my mother isn't is that she acts more like a friend than a mother. Sometimes I hate that... I'm allowed to do anything, she doesn't care. She wants me to discover everything on my own." She shrugged her shoulders. "Not that I do. I'm pretty much an outcast." She admitted sadly, bowing her head as she looked down at the half eaten strawberry in her fingers. She shivered slightly. "It's getting chilly. Maybe we should go back to your party. I'm sure your guests are missing you." She chewed on her lip, popping the rest of the strawberry, after removing the stem, into her mouth.

Basil nodded, "Being an outcast can be an advantage. I see you in the hallway, maybe next time I could stop you for a nice chat." He shrugged, leading her out of the crisp night air back towards the party. "Maybe next time i ask you for a dance, perhaps you won't be so quick to dissapear on me." He added with a rare smile. The party was less crowded but at the bottom of the stairs stood his cousin Samantha with an annoyed look on her face. "Excuse me, Abbie but I must talke to my dear cousin." He said carefully, as he made room for her too move.

Abbie nodded softly. "I should probably go home soon." She said softly, looking out the window. "It's getting quite dark." She half laughed. "and I'm not very fond of the dark." She shrugged and quickly descended the staircase, slipping on her shoes and retriving her coat before leaving, with a parting wave and smile. She climbed into the car that was waiting for her and drove off. She sighed heavily, staring out the window of the car with a daed happy look.

Samantha watched Basil look after the girl named Abbie. "So that's where you've been hiding. You sure know how to pick them, just be careful with her Basil, humans can be tricky." Basil sighed, "I know, to be careful and not let her think I'm any different, but Samantha this one seems not as empty-headed as you make her out to be. She'll find out what's a miss sooner than we realize." The vampire checked his watch, it read just before midnight, as he let a strawberry slip back into a bowl, he tried to get back to the ball.

Abbie arrived home half asleep, as she attempted to climb out of the car and go up to her house. Staggering she made it in and up the stairs to her room. She quickly unzipped the dress and let it fall as she took off the accessories as she pulled on her pjs. She yawned, climbing into bed and quickly went to sleep. She thought about the party and couldn't believe it was probably still going on. She thought about Basil and smiled brightly as she fell further into sleep.

((Skipping to the next morning))

Basil heard the clock chime eight, as the servants cleaned up the trash and other debree from the floor. He streched and looked out the window, too bad Abbie hadn't left anything at the party, he wanted to see her again but he didn't want to be too forward. "You'll just have to wait until school tommorrow, dear Basil. Until then, I'm sure you can survive without seeing your dear little human." Samantha leaned on the railing, ready to head out to the city. "Time is the one thing I'm not worried about, let's hope your friends are nice to her otherwise I may have to be with her alone." He said with a sharp look.

Abbie woke to a large poof of hair. She glared at herself in the mirror. "This is what I get with too much hairspray." She grumbled to herself as she walked downstairs. She was greeted by the smell of pancakes. "YUM!" She exclaimed, sitting down. "What's the occasion?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Mom never cooked pancakes and bacon for no reason. "Just wondering about that boy you were talking about in your sleep."Her mother asked, grinning as she set the plates down. Abbie shrugged. "He was the one who threw the party. He's really nice." She grinned goofily. "Be careful of rich boys Abbs..." Her mother cautioned. Abbie rolled her eyes, stuffing some pancakes into her mouth

Basil flipped through the high school year book, seeing Abbie in photos for the art club or painting a picture otherwise she seemed a loner like he had been at first. Samantha had convinced him that going to Highschool was a good idea although he already knew what he needed to in order to get into college. Breakfast was incredibly simple, a small glass of the deer blood he collected yesterday, the rich boy streched his back as he walked to the stables to go for one of his daily rides. "Perhaps nature will make my mind clearer." he thought to himself, as the stablehand saddled the geldling.

Abbie pulled on a pair of jeans and her favoite painting top. She grabbed her canvas and paints, along with her pastels and went out into her backyard. It was the one thing she loved about her house. The view she had from the back. She smiled warmly as the sun beat down on her wet stringy hair from her shower after breakfast. She was going to let it dry naturally which was wavy curls. She had no one to see today. She set her things up and began to paint as usual.

The forest was deep and let Basil into a part where a hilltop came into view, the vampire sat on the hilltop with a scope. As he looked through the eyepiece he saw Abbie painting and smiled to himself. The vampiric side of his personality laughed in a mocking tone. "What's so special about this girl? She's playing games with you, like the rest of them." Basil shook his head, the sunlight reflecting off of his skin, making it look like a mirror. Prince his mount whinned as the teenager climbed back on and headed to a different section of forest.

Abbie's eyes flickered up for a moment to catch the sight of a horse and rider. She grinned brightly and soon included the sight in her painting. A single black figure against the bright trees and and sunlight. She flipped the finished painting back and began a new one. She hardly paid attention, letting her subconcious paint. When she focused on the painting it was a faint outline of Basil. Her hand flew to her mouth as she gasped, smiling slightly. "I guess he's on my mind." She said softly as she continued to paint the unflawed Basil.

Basil reached into his saddle bag and began to read some of "Sense and Sensibility" for his literature class. His mind began to wander about Abbie, wanting to know more about her but he couldn't tell what she was thinking, her mother on the other hand... The vampire stopped himself from reading Abbie's mothers mind, wanting to save his mind for Abbie's own answers.
