I've noticed this also, and yeah, there are a lot of bands that come to mind.
For example, the Jonas Brothers. There is a whole fandom dedicated to the Kevin/Joe/Nick threesome.
Not to mention:
Fall Out Boy, Avenged Sevenfold, Savage Garden, Green Day, etc.
