Sean Connery is the only man I have ever known to portray a Russian submarine Captain with a Scottish accent.
I don't really have a specific accent.... though I am starting to gain the accent of the good ol' Dorsetshire farmer stereotype apparently. Though it comes and goes randomly.
I am terrible with accents and have trouble even picking them up unless they are really strong. On the upside it means I can understand most people with accents.
I love Liam Neeson's Southern Irish accent from Love Actually, I want it.
Speaking of Irish accents, I was watching Scrubs the other day and Colin Farell was a guest star with a noticable Irish accent, he was making out with the pretty blonde doctor lady within seconds of meeting her because "He said my eyes were like the fields of Ireland after a Spring Rain."
.....Damn I want me an Irish accent, does Queen's have a Chemistry Course?

ice_illusion I like Edinburgh, Inverness and most Irish accents. And Orkney, Orkney have the best accents. They are "brilliant". At least I think its Orkney. I heart that accent. It's sounds so nice and light. It just comes right off the top of the palate, there aren't any throaty vowels at all. When I find myself serving an Orcadian customer I have to bite my tongue to stop myself copying. That goes for irish accents too but that's more because I think they are funny.

I'm going to see if I can't get a recording of my voice for everyone here. ^___^ That way you can all point and laugh at me for saying some words the way I do.

I hate my accent. Strangly, although I should have a Geordie accent, it's vaguely American, or at least practically everybody I talk to thinks so (and asks me if I'm American too stare ). I don't like the Geordie accent either. (Where the heck did that name come from, anyway?) I just want recieved pronunciation. :'(

I like Orcadian the best. Having lived there, I can also speak some.
I like most Scottish accents apart from Glaswegian and Edinburgh.
I also have a fetish for Geordie-sorry BlackRavenFeathers.

When I was on work expirience there was a guy from Orkney filling in for someone there. heart The voice in my head had an Orcadian accent all week. I don't think I spoke like that though. XP He also happened to be the best looking person I have seen in my entire life including all film stars and people with airbrushing and stylists. But his accent was just so great.

I have a voice clip (XD I don't know if I'll post it, I couldn't think of anything to say so it's really wierd), but I just wondered if you knew how to upload voice clips to the net? *Is doing a Google search now*.
