Both the hero and anti-hero can be quite fun to write.

Most of my heroes aren't entirely fully 'good' .. because just about no one is perfectly good. There's always a twitch of selfishness in there somewhere, though finding the breaking point for the heroes is fun in a way. Now the bad guy.. I like showing how they got that bad. It usually ends up being some sort of betrayal or need for recovering/preserving the good they had that ends up making them go down that path

Poll for beginning of March: Other: ability to actually write rather than procrastinating or thinking about how stupid the scene will look.

Oh yeah, and I'm hoping to only lurk from now on.. typing left handed is way too slow and makes me all depressed.

But.. I do hope things will pick up for you guys

For myself,
I think my grammar/punctuation is what I'd like to be better at
Though I'm not horrible, I'm not so good at it.. so I have to be edited
-sigh- oh well

D= poor Nefas .. man, I get so frustrated when I have to try and type with one hand for like a half hour to an hour while listening to rambling from others on the phone .. I can't imagine having to do it for long stretches at a time. Hope it eases up for you.. heals.. whichever is needed so you won't be so stressed

Go Chanthar, go! =D

At the moment what I'm writing is Fantasy (which for me is weird, but the whole trilogy is hard work and something I've never done before), though I suppose this book in particular could also be considered a Romance/tragedy, due to the events that unfold. =O The first book is purely Fantasy, and the last one too. This middle one is just weird. XD

My DeviantART Page!

I chose "Other" because my current story is kind of a mix . . . The universe it's set in (or, based off of, since it IS a fanfic) is fantasy/steampunk, but the story itself that I'm writing is a drama, though it might be considered kind of a tragedy, in a way.

Oh.. a new poll.. nice smile

Yeah, if anyone's seen my handwriting, they'll understand why I picked laptop/computer. Also, editing is easier on a computer (my opinion)

Music is a main influence.
I am into the habit of listening to orchestral music, mostly the soundtracks from games such as Final Fantasy. Brilliant. smile

Do you write to Music?

Hm.. sometimes

Like fight scenes, I like upbeat kinda rawr things to get everything going ..
And with the detective ones I like the classical or jazz ...

Music is a huge inspiration for me. A lot of my novels have either been inspired by very specific songs, or have very specific soundtracks for me. It's funny, because then when I listen to that music afterwards I often find myself remembering scenes from the novel. It's great. <3

I listen to all kinds of music. Really my music taste is really diverse. But I especially like to listen to showtunes, and music from my favourite musical movies. Wicked, Rent, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment etc. are great because they all have their own little stories in them, and it makes it more fun to write to. I like a lot of artists who have sung in the musical theatre as well, since they have really good, strong voices; Kerry Ellis and Idina Menzel especially. ninja Also, I like a lot of dark cabaret, artists like Jill Tracy, and even some more classical artists such as Kristin Chenoweth. Anything with a vaguely 'noir' feel and I'll probably love it.

No. I used to, but then it started distracting me. If I really don't want to or can't seem to write I'll listen to metal (I just use The Showdown's similar artists on last.fm, so it's anything from metalcore to death metal), then I'll turn it off once I've got going.

@Psychotic: I find that. It's great for when you plan to a song for ages, then that song inspires you to keep writing the story you used it for. It's good for when I don't feel like writing. biggrin

Definitely. I often rely on music to get me back in the mood. Though, lately even that's not been working. D=

I worked on three last night and they all turned out a bit crap to be honest. My major projects have been this year, on my second novel already. sweatdrop
