Hmm, this is probably a weak post but I'll post it anyway, for the sake of keeping on topic, hee:

When describing someone's height, the Japanese use the words for cheap and expensive (takai) - ie. if I were to say I am short, I would be saying I am cheap (Watashi wa hikui desu). Please do not try to construe this in any other way razz

Also: if this ever comes up, which it might - if you want to stress something that you're extremely interested in when someone asks you what you like (according to memory, it would sound something like "Nani ga suki desu ka"), you'd say that you were an idiot about something - for example, if I were really into tea (which I am, by the way) and wanted them to know - possibly so that they would make me some, hee - I would say "Koucha no baka". An idiot of tea, I am.

Also, it's maybe important to know tenses when speaking. For +ve present verbs, add 'masu' to the end of the root word. For -ive present verbs, add 'masen'. In the case of +ve past verbs, add 'mashita'. And for -ve past verbs, attach 'masen deshita'.

For example -
I am eating --> Watashi wa tabemasu.
I am not eating --> Watashi wa tabemasen.
I was eating --> Watashi wa tabemashita.
I was not eating --> Watashi wa tabemasen deshita.

That's complicated. @__@
Wait, so what if I wanna say 'I am short' which I am?
I would also imply that I'm cheap? o:

Haha, the Japanese wouldn't take it that way but that's what you'd literally be saying.

EDIT: I think I used the word 'hikui' before, but I think the one that should be used is 'yasui' - my memory might have failed me a little :S

Oh I seee. Wow, still complex.
& well...what does those two words mean..? In your edit?

Hikui means short, but I'm not sure (see: I can't remember) if that's used in reference to height. Yasui is the word for cheap. What I know for sure is that takai (expensive) is the word used when saying someone is tall.
